  1. IMO, if Whaley knew what he was doing, he wouldn't have had to lean so heavily on the "expertise" of people like Brandon and Overdorf. I'm more optimistic about this team than I've been in ~10 years, and it's largely because he's gone.
  2. I think you have to drink Modelo if you really want to be cool.
  3. I think Kaepernick deserves another chance if he's hungry for it. I don't get the impression that he is.
  4. I closed that book several years ago, but I'm so used to talking about it that I just can't stop.
  5. Vince Young sounds like a guy who never fully grew up. And yet, he has a point.
  6. This harkens back to the days when we couldn't have a backup better than Thigpen for fear of rattling Fitz's confidence. If your QB lets outside factors like these hurt his play, then he's not the right guy to be leading your offense.
  7. I wonder if losing a player at a position of need to the Pats for the 2nd year in a row was the last straw for Whaley. His inability to learn from his mistakes was simply astounding.
  8. Not a chance. That guy's horrible AND he's a head case.
  9. When you're incompetent, you might say or do whatever it takes to hold onto your job. Unfortunately for Doug, I think most owners would prefer a GM with the confidence/competence to share his own honest analysis, rather than playing yes man extraordinaire to keep the charade going.
  10. Sounds like a solid plan. I wonder what Whaley's response will be when they ask about his comments on Rex being like his soulmate, & the two of them being so in tune with each other that they were completing each other's sentences. I'm thinking something along a deer in headlights.
  11. The Chiefs had better hurry up & sign Whaley. It's only a matter of seconds before another team snatches him up.
  12. USA Today's Tom Pelissero reports one of the issues the Chiefs had with fired GM John Dorsey was his inability to get extensions with Justin Houston and Eric Berry done faster. Per Pelissero, the Chiefs believed the slowness "cost them more later." It makes sense on the surface, but that's hardly a rarity with blue-chip players. The delay in Berry's case seemed more questionable than the delay in Houston's. The national media is reporting widespread shock at Dorsey's abrupt departure. The Chiefs are clearly comfortable with Andy Reid being the brains of the operation.
  13. If Beane's rise to Bills' GM was unlikely, it must mean he's competent.
  14. ~99% of those 95% thought that Rex was an overrated blowhard up until the exact moment the Bills hired him. It was really pathetic.
  15. That's no myth! Russ is like the best man who tries to make the wedding all about him.
  16. Myth: Doug Whaley is a top NFL GM who'd be snatched up by another team in a second if we were to let him go. Reality: Many seconds have passed. So will many years.
  17. I heard he came back to the Bills to give them one last chance to replace Tyrod, but they passed.
