  1. Shaq's problem isn't that he can't rush the passer; it's that he doesn't pack a lunchpail.
  2. Don't remember where I read it, but it went something like this: Fitzpatrick will seek revenge against the Jets, the team who revived his career and paid him $12mm in 2016 (these NFL revenge storylines are often tenuous). It amused me.
  3. Labatt Zubaz! It just occurred to me that "dilly dilly" might be what Ned Flanders was trying to say all these years.
  4. I did not know that the oils were to be scented. I've been missing out!
  5. He'd better not say something hurtful like "These Jacksonville winters are nothing like Buffalo," or I will just lose it.
  6. Banyard's back and you're gonna be in trouble...
  7. I too suspected that the Bills were going to blow it after the Raiders' easy march down the field. This was aided by the commentators' discussion on what a comeback artist Carr is, including how he'd come back from a 15pt deficit to us last year. But, I soon remembered that these aren't the same old Bills. I'm not ready to bank on playoffs this year, but I think we're building a team that will contend for years to come.
  8. The statement from his own HC is evidence enough for me. They also said things like "He's not a bad guy," and "now he'll get a fresh start." Teams shouldn't feel the need to say things like that about their highest paid player. I wouldn't be surprised if Dareus says something in the next week or so to remove all doubt.
  9. I hate to reveal my sources, but google Marcell Dareus and see how many times you find mention of a lack of discipline, commitment, urgency, etc. "Buying in" can mean different things to different people, but I think McDermott spelled it out pretty clearly here: "At times. I'm going to be very honest about it -- at times. At other times, not really," McDermott told Pelissero about seeing urgency out of Dareus. "This bus is moving and at the end of this year, we're going to have a pretty good feel for who's on the bus and who's not, and everyone knows that, I would hope. So, I would hope they've seen that from the moves we've made and the direction we're heading, the mindset we're embracing and the devoted mindset you need to have to win in this league. We're going in a certain direction for a certain reason, and we play and do things with a purpose. People that have that common purpose and want to share that common purpose, they'll be here."
  10. Whaley: "Shaq Lawson is going to walk in off the bus starting. Reggie Ragland and then Adolphus Washington -- all three of those guys will start right off the bus." McDermott: "This bus is moving and at the end of this year, we're going to have a pretty good feel for who's on the bus and who's not, and everyone knows that, I would hope.
  11. Dareus wasn't buying into a D that's 4th in points allowed per game. That tells you all you need to know.
  12. Overall, Whaley failed as a GM. Better than Nix, Brandon, and Levy, but that doesn't mean anything outside of Buffalo. When we see our team in 2 years vs the 4 years Whaley had (or 7 years if you want to throw in his time as Assistant GM), it will be apparent to all.
  13. One thing that bothered me about the trade was it was reported that the Giants were trying to trade up, but the Bills already had a "gentleman's agreement" with the Chiefs. We'd probably feel a lot better right now if we were holding the Giants' 2018 1st.
  14. For the first time in ages, this team is being built with an eye on the future. I can't get too bent out of shape over today's loss.
  15. Nah, Rex just needed another year to get more guys who fit his D. Unfortunately, they've all retired.
  16. Always thought Gilmore was severely overrated by our fans. Glad we didn't pay for him, and that the Pats did.
  17. Was disappointed when Williams was cut & fairly shocked that he only made it to the Broncos' practice squad. There's a juicy story in there somewhere.
  18. I wouldn't be opposed to the Bills signing Brandon Coleman after the season when he's a FA. He's appropriately-utilized because he can never stay healthy.
  19. True, and soon the great patriots who were so insulted by the disrespect to the flag can go back to making beer runs during the national anthem. However, last week's mass kneelings were a direct response to Trump's attempts to divide the NFL, and didn't really have anything to do with the protest's original meaning.
  20. I hardly even care about this year; we look to be on the right track for the first time in decades. It's a shame the Bills didn't try hiring a real GM / HC sooner, but good things are on the way.
  21. A 5th round pick & the low salary it includes are small prices to pay for a decent backup QB.
  22. I slurred the thread title & it totally checked out.
