  1. On the bright side, Josh Allen has plenty of experience throwing to ****ty WRs from behind a ****ty O-line. He'll feel right at home!
  2. You just brought me back in time to this: OWINGS MILLS, Md. — Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis, furious over statements by two Pittsburgh Steelers, plans to take out his anger Sunday against the AFC Central leaders. Lewis was particularly annoyed over a comment by Steelers running back Jerome Bettis, who was quoted in a magazine article as saying Cincinnati fourth-year linebacker Takeo Spikes is as good as Lewis, but doesn't get the same notoriety because he has a lesser supporting cast. “Jerome saying Takeo Spikes is better than me? Let's go find out,” Lewis said. “They have to come here in three, four days regardless of what's coming out of their mouths. Tell him to tape that groin up and come see me at PSINet.” Bettis missed last week's game against the New York Jets because of a groin injury, but is expected to play in Sunday night's showdown between the defending Super Bowl champs and the Steelers (10-2), who can clinch the division title with a victory. Bettis, told of Lewis' rage Wednesday, said he did not intend to slight Lewis, the NFL Defensive Player of the Year and Super Bowl MVP. “I just said (Spikes) is as good an athlete as Ray Lewis, he just doesn't have the talent around him,” Bettis said. “I'm trying to compliment another guy. So he brings that into a Steelers story? I guess they're jumping on anything right now.” In the first meeting between the teams, the Ravens won 13-10 when Pittsburgh's Kris Brown missed four field goals. But wide receiver Plaxico Burress said this week that although they lost, the Steelers knocked around the Super Bowl champs. “We beat those guys up physically. We know it,” Burress said. “All we have to do is go down there and beat them up again this time.” Lewis' scorn was provoked by Ravens tight end Shannon Sharpe, who told the linebacker what Bettis and Burress said. Sharpe, one of Lewis' closest friends on the team, also thought Bettis' comparison of Spikes and Lewis was way off base. “That's like saying, "Dude, Where's My Car' is just as good as "Titanic.' At some point in time, you've got to be realistic,” Sharpe said. “I don't mean no disrespect to Takeo, because Takeo Spikes is a great football player, but he's not Ray Lewis. Let's not fool ourselves.” Sharpe didn't much care for Burress' comment either, particularly because Burress has a reputation for being far less physical than the Steelers' other wide receiver, Hines Ward. “I'm not even going to talk about Plaxico. I'm not even going to dignify what he said with a response,” Sharpe said. “If Hines Ward would have said that, as physical as he's played the game, OK, I can at least lend some credence to that one. But Plexiglass, no.” http://bengals.enquirer.com/2001/12/13/ben_ray_lewis_irked_by.html
  3. Andy Reid was probably the driving force behind that signing, being that Reid drafted Foles in Philly. Nevetheless, I'd wager that Dorsey respects Reid's opinion.
  4. It's crazy that anyone could imagine Peterman starting over McCarron, given a) how highly drafted McCarron was, b) the great success he's had in the NFL, and c) the number of teams we had to outbid for his services. And I'm not even getting into d) his poor taste in women.
  5. Had Antonio Brown been drafted by the Bills, he'd probably be a Patriot by now. So there's that.
  6. Saw Tricky a couple of weeks ago. Today my body is paying the price for bouncing around the Misfits mosh pit last night. Great time. Upcoming shows, in no particular order: Satyricon Slayer (with Testament, Anthrax, & Lamb of God) - twice Primus & Mastodon Foreigner & Whitesnake Judas Priest & Deep Purple Ghost
  7. "After causing a multi-car collision, he flees into the night. There is no telling what further damage this unbalanced and violent individual will do. And one again, it falls on Johnny to contain Daniel's fury." LOL
  8. You're right; we were 3-4 pieces (or even more) away on both sides of the ball. If those 2 picks worked out, we still would've been in the same spot, given the presence of Jackson, Lynch, & Kyle Williams. I know the old "Lynch didn't want to be here" argument very well, but I always believed Lynch didn't want to be here because we showed zero commitment to fielding a winning team. Who wants to go down with a sinking ship every year?
  9. Hiring a career 31-42 NFL coach to lead a team with a Pro Bowl roster on both sides of the ball. I liked when Maybin said he'd put on weight if HE felt he needed to. The 2010 draft was a joke. Right after Nix says "we're not that far away", they waste their first 2 picks on arguably our strongest positions. Flush!
  10. True, and Sanchez was probably the best USC QB since Carson Palmer in 2003. And it is the Jets.
  11. I loved that they did that; it almost made the whole situation worthwhile. When was the last time the Bills made a big mistake and immediately rectified it? I honestly can't recall.
  12. Touché. It sounds like the Jets traded up to #3 to ensure they'd get one of Mayfield, Darnold, or Rosen. In that sense, they had no interest in Allen.
  13. If the Jets had no interest in Josh Allen, that could bode well for his future.
  14. I was surprised that Daniel's "everyone in Cobra Kai is bad" talk didn't spur Sam to say "What about Aisha?". Daniel didn't seem to notice her at the tournament, either. Her parents are his country club buddies, so you'd think it would've elicited a pretty strong reaction, possibly causing him to reconsider the absoluteness of his stance. Then again, probably not. If you think about it, Daniel was the only character who didn't show any real growth or change for the entire run.
  15. I always got a kick out of the theory that My Bodyguard was supposed to be a gay coming of age story, but 1980 wasn't the right time for that. Just stumbled upon this site; looks like John Kreese is very real: We’re leaving it intentionally vague for the first season whether or not Johnny is aware that Kreese is still around, alive, in the country. We don’t want to reveal yet where we’re taking that and going with that because during the season, Johnny does say point blank when asked about Kreese, “John Kreese is dead.” Does Johnny believe that? Is Johnny lying? Was Johnny told something or is he just dead to Johnny? Those are all things we look forward to answering when we take the story forward. … In season two you’ll learn far more about the lingering status of that relationship. You’ll know what Johnny knows and what the world knows going forward, but at the end of this season it’s just a surprise that he shows up. It’s just the beginning of the story basically. http://www.slashfilm.com/cobra-kai-season-2/ Would love to see Mike Barnes & Terry Silver.
  16. I don't understand why it's pretty much considered a given that McCarron is a better option than Peterman. Two guys who were similarly rated coming out of college, and have done nothing in the NFL. McCarron has just done nothing over a much longer period of time.
  17. Maybe not worthy of its own thread, but I don't want to spoil the ending for anyone who's planning to see it and hasn't. If that's you, please read no further. ********************************************************************************************************************************************* ********************************************************************************************************************************************* OK, those of you who are still here know that John Kreese shows up in Johnny's dojo at the very end. Or does he? Consider the following: When applying for Cobra Kai's reinstatement to the All Valley Karate tournament, Johnny states "John Kreese is dead" During the tournament, Johnny sees his fighters using dirty tactics reminiscent of Kreese's teachings, triggering bad flashbacks Johnny tells Miguel not to fight dirty in the final. Miguel responds "There's nothing dirty about winning, Sensei. You taught me that." At this point, Johnny realizes he's no better than Kreese After the tournament, Johnny goes home and drinks himself silly. And Coors banquet beer just won't do; for this is to be a Jim Beam night! Some alcoholics have hallucinations. Johnny is clearly an alcoholic John Kreese materializes in the darkness, acting cartoonishly evil, shot in what looked like a dream sequence So... John Kreese: real, or a hallucination borne of intoxication and guilt? *********************************************************************************************************************************************
  18. I thought he was the classic great college/horrible pro QB. Truth be told, he looked pretty damn good when he was starting last year. And to think I was afraid the Bills were going to draft him. But you're right; too small of a sample size to know anything for sure. I already didn't want him, but that arm speed bit was the icing on the cake. It's nice to see some of these tried & true rules being proven wrong, what with us having a sub-57% QB.
  19. There's no need for a curse when you hire bad GM after bad GM for so many years.
  20. Yesterday's news, but it still cracks me up: One morning in spring training, 2017, he was in the coaches’ room looking at his cell phone text messages. Ichiro told the coaches about one message he had just received from a number he didn’t recognize. The guy said he’d gotten Ichiro’s number from Alex Rodriguez, and that he wanted to come meet him and study his stretching system. “What’s the guy’s name?” asked one of the coaches. Ichiro scrolled to the end of the text. “Some guy named Tom Brady. Who the f— is Tom Brady?” The point of the story, which comes via Don Mattingly, is that Ichiro is so focused on baseball that he didn’t know one of the most famous pro athletes today. Not knowing who Tom Brady is must be pretty awesome.
  21. True, but I thought they culled together a lot of the best stuff pretty quickly. But definitely not lately. What's a better, similar site?
  22. I was in the process of typing Tremainedous when I saw your post just above my reply. That was a close one. Is Tremaniac already taken?
  23. I've noticed the same. Part of my morning ritual has always included checking for the latest scoop on Rotoworld, but it's been straight garbage of late. Hopefully it's just the offseason & they get their **** together sometime in the next few months.
  24. I remember hearing that Chad Kelly would've gone #1 overall if he could just lay off the fried foods. Done.
