  1. He skipped OTAs after getting suspended for 4 games. And he's in a contract year, the year after having a career year. Ingram would likely demand a big contract before setting foot on the Bills' practice field. IMO there are very few (if any) RBs worthy of big contracts, and Ingram doesn't make my short list. Doesn't sound like a guy for Beane or McDermott, either.
  2. It always annoys me when commentators refer to football as "foosball", and start ranting and raving about it being "the Devil's game". Give it a rest already.
  3. This. Gruden would say something along the lines of "This is one of the greatest plays you'll ever see a QB make" in every single game he called. One of those plays was when an under pressure Eli Manning winged the ball straight up in the air. It happened to land in the hands of Brandon Marshall ~10 yards downfield, but only by pure luck.
  4. After S.O.D., Milano went on to form M.O.D. Who could forget Ballad of Dio?
  5. It's understandable if every team looked at the situation indivdually and decided that Kaep's talent wasn't worth the trouble. The issue would be if they all made a collective agreement not to sign him, or if a team that wanted to sign him was discouraged by the league from doing so.
  6. Don't forget- we still have "McBeane never got to pick his own Head Coach" in our back pocket.
  7. I didn't know the 1 helmet per team rule was introduced in 2013, and that the Bucs were the first team affected by it. https://uni-watch.com/an-faq-for-the-nfls-helmet-rule/
  8. That pirate hasn't been on the Bucs' helmet since '96. Asked to explain their hot 5-0 start in '97, Tony Dungy explained "Obviously it's the new uniforms."
  9. Ha, that happened on the bbmb, too. Was "Cold Front" one of the more popular choices here?
  10. Back in '82, I used to be able to throw a pigskin a quarter mile.
  11. Captain Checkdown and Trent Checkwards were also very appropriate names.
  12. Doh! You took mine. Nobody was better than prime Berman. I remember a time when he sang Boz Scaggs' "Lido Shuffle" to a Lito Sheppard highlight. Lido... whoa oh oh ohohoh...
  13. When team after team passed on Lawson & he fell to us, it was obvious that Doug Whaley and Rex Ryan had just outsmarted the rest of the NFL
  14. "Koko- that chimp's alright. High five."
  15. Sorry, guys. I come not to praise Whaley, but to bury him. Doug Whaley being cut loose was my happiest Bills moment of the last decade or so. It signaled an official end to 11 years (11!) of looking within an inept front office for the latest crony GM hire. No more taking advantage of owners' fading mental capacity or lack of experience; the gravy train had finally left the station. IMO, Whaley was a yes man, more interested in keeping his job than in doing what was best for the team. Upset that the owners didn't let you pick your own coach? Maybe telling the world that you're soul mates who can complete each other's sentences isn't the best way to handle it. Add in an unwillingness to accept mistakes & an inability to play well with others, and you get a man who faces very steep odds of ever being an NFL GM again.
  16. I think 2015 was the closest thing. Cassel had a couple of good seasons under his belt, albeit over 10 years. EJ was our first round pick, entering year three. Even though many felt he wouldn't amount to anything, it was probably technically too soon for us to actually know that. Tyrod was the dark horse of the race, his rare athletic ability offering the most upside of the group. I'd say this year's competition has a lower floor, but a much higher ceiling given the fact that our current guys have a combined six NFL starts between the three of them.
  17. You're preaching to the choir. I don't understand why so many think McCarron, another 5th round pick, is such a better option. May the best man win.
  18. My Dad's an Eagles fan, but he took me to my first Bills game (vs the Eagles) when I was 13 and joined me in rooting against his own team.
  19. According to ESPN's Mike Rodak, Nathan Peterman is a "serious contender" for the Bills' starting quarterback job. He impressed while rotating first-team reps with A.J. McCarron at Bills' minicamp, completing 10-of-13 passes with a touchdown during 11-on-11 drills at Tuesday's session. Peterman struggled mightily in his lone start last year—he threw five picks against the Chargers before coming out at halftime—but has cleaned up his mechanics after spending the offseason training with QB guru Tom House. The Bills traded up to draft Josh Allen seventh overall in April, but he mostly worked with the third team during spring practices. Source: ESPN.com Jun 17 - 8:25 AM
  20. Our soldiers fought and died so we could have the NFL Hall of Fame. If TO is going to disrespect our troops by not attending the induction ceremony, he should get the hell out of the country!
  21. True dat. I suppose it's worth mentioning that many of these dumdums would've amounted to jack much sooner if not for their ability to play a game.
  22. They said there would be a competition, but Gailey ended up deciding very early on that Edwards would get all/most of the first team reps. And then he was cut after 2 games.
  23. Wayyyyyyy too early to tell, imo. I bet every team dreams of their rookie QB being ready to start right off the bus, but I think Tyrod starting the season was always part of the plan. I admit: it feels strange to speak of the Browns having a plan.
