a chance to maybe be *the* greatest ever?? lol WTF
He is the youngest super bowl winning head coach ever, and has made the super bowl a separate time, both with QBs that we’re not top 5 in the league, likely not even top 10. Of the active head coaches, he likely has the best chance at being the best other than Belicheat.

Elevate Josh's game to the next level? What is he going to transform into Zeus throwing thunderbolts? Not sure how you elevate from where he was at the end of last season.
I don’t know if you can really elevate from where he was at the end of last season (especially the playoffs), but if he can be more consistently at that level, he would be improved for sure. He had a couple games last year that were subpar for sure (Jax, Atlanta’s 3 picks in a row(though he was our offense that game), windy pats game)

I have very mixed feelings on this and I'm just going to go through them and just maybe, someone can help me sort them out
1. I do not want drama on this season... Josh Allen is STILL growing... Will OBJ's drama screw with that?
2. I really love McKenzie's growth... At 27 years old IF he has taken the next step, we can get 4 great years out of him but this will take lots of live game day reps to confirm.
3. This is Davis's time to shine! I don't want to pull from that.
4. Is there more to Crowders injury that we don't know?
While OBJ does bring something to the table, I feel my thoughts bring to much concern.
My attempt to address concerns:
1. OBJ did not have much drama in LA last year. Perhaps with a competent team around him, he doesn’t have much to dramatize. Having an elite QB who is a class act helps ease Wr concerns. Beasley was a pretty big source of drama last year, but I don’t think it impacted the team’s performance much, and especially not in the playoffs when the offense was firing on all cylinders. OBJ also wouldn’t have much time to cause drama as he likely won’t be back till November or later.
2/3 If McKenzie and Gabe Davis start playing extremely well, OBJ would be great to have as a 4 for late in the season. If Gabe is truly shining, OBJ can take on a reserve role and play in a rotation, which the bills have used in the past to keep their players fresh and healthy. OBJ is also a lot better than any of our depth currently which would give some security for injuries later in the season.
4. If there is more to Crowder’s injury, all the more reason to bring in another receiver. If not, more depth is a good thing. OBJ is a threat on the field who can dominate games and would slot over Crowder regardless.

What does this even mean!? It’s literally just words thrown together that provide no context or actual meaning..I think he’s saying the OL was an afterthought in Buffalo behind the skill positions on offense and the defense, and I’m NY it seems to be a bigger part of the puzzle.

The illegal contact thing is dumb to me. one of the most annoying calls on the planet is a ticky tack contact call on 3rd and 15 that gives up a mere 5 yards but an automatic first down. its maddening.... why would we want more of that?
The reason behind it was last year it was called about 1/3 of the averages of the past 2 decades. It is quite the annoying penalty, but it’s also quite annoying to see your receivers constantly interferes with.
-
It appears the NFL has given directives to referees to have 2 areas of focus in the upcoming season. One is a higher emphasis on illegal contact (touching a wr further than 5 yards downfield), which was called significantly less frequently than average last year. The other area of focus is a greater scrutiny of roughing the passer calls, to make them less often (after they were very high last year).
I think the emphasis on illegal contact should benefit the bills, especially against teams like the Chiefs who have tended to be grabby with the Bills receivers. We did benefit from a few timely roughing the passer calls last year though, so there definitely could be cons.

I didn’t know you could do that as I rarely use it, only when it’s my only option. I’ll do that from now on.
Yup. When you go to pay (at least on the iOS app), there’s a little link that says public right above the pay button. If you click on that, you can select who can view: public, friends (yours and the recipients’), or private (just you and the recipient).

That’s my question too. I prefer Zelle because don’t trust Venmo (and hate that Venmo transactions are public) but will tell everyone to leave the memo blank when sending the $.
Just so you are aware, You can set Venmo transactions to be private.

Obviously drafting Allen in of itself is a huge victory. But overall this draft feels different. Everyone looks incredibly sharp. They all look like they could be starters.
Elam is likely getting playing time
Cook for sure will get playing time
Bernard is likely to get playing time
Araiza is likely to be the starter
Shakir is likely to get playing time
Luke, Spector, and Benford appear to be solid depth with potential.Allen is elite
Edmunds is a starter
Harrison Phillips is/was a starter
Taron Johnson is a starter In this defense
Wyatt Teller is a high end starter
Siran Neal is good depth stuck behind 2 all pro safeties, perhaps he would have been a starter elsewhere
Ray ray mccolud sees some playing time, not on the bills.
the only real miss was Austin Proehl.
Honestly, I don’t really see this this draft surpassing 2018. Josh Allen alone would be incredibly hard to beat, but only one real miss in the draft is also damn good.-

Is it just me or does this draft class seem to be a total grand slam??? I can’t remember another class where just about ALL of the picks of made standout plays in camp with the vets….mind you, very good vets! This isn’t some bum team where rookies should be shining like in years past. Even down to Spector, our 7th round pick, I believe all have gotten reps with the ones. Sometimes cause injury but more often cause they earned the look. And even in the injury situations, it’s been mostly reported of them holding their own vs seeming overwhelmed. This is amazing! Beane is really shaping up to be the GOAT.
I think this will end up being our overall best draft class yet. Gotta love BBB.
2018 gonna be hard to beat. Elite QB, decent MLB (kind of polarizing one), solid DT, top 5 slot CB, solid depth safety/big nickel guy, high end guard (that we ended up trading early)

Here's an idea.
I find it idiotic how the referee has to waste so much time during games, especially challenged plays,
Coach throws the flag.
Ref heads over to talk to him.
Ref heads back on the filed to announce the challenge, which everybody already knows about.
Ref heads to booth to review play.
Ref reviews play.
Ref talks to coaches.
Ref heads back on field to announce the result the result of the challenge.
Total waste of time.
So what’s the idea? All I see is a complaint.

Drove by a huge tractor that looked like it was so high that you could drive a car underneath it driving towards Batavia yesterday...I can't even imagine what you would need to do to get into it and I would probably freak out climbing that high.
Probably a spreader for corn fields- they’re that tall so they can go into corn fields without running everything over, just where the tires are.

Gonna go with the vikes. They have among the best weapons in the league. Dalvin Cook, Justin Jefferson, and Adam Theilin are vastly superior to Green Bay’s weapons and make up enough of the difference between Rodgers and Cousins.

Tom Brady is a 7-time super bowl champion. I don't think there is any other player in any other sport who has dominated his sport except may be Don Bradman in Cricket
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don_Bradman
The great Don average 99.96 runs every time he went to bat. The next best average is like 60.
Is Bill Russel the best basketball player of all time then, since he won 11 championships?

I just looked at their schedule. It's a beast to start. Open with Pats***, then at Baltimore, Buffalo, at Cinci.
It would be awesome for the Fish to start 0-4.
I think I’d prefer 1-3 with the win coming over the Pats*

We have not drafted enough high end talent.
Edmunds rd 1
Basham rd 2
Epenesa rd 2
Ford rd 2
Moss rd 3
Oliver rd 1
Rousseau rd 1
Have all underperformed their draft statuses thus far IMO. Especially Ford and Moss.
I expect more from Edmunds, Oliver, and Rousseau given their rd 1 status.
On the flip side, Allen, Taron Johnson, Davis, Milano, and Teller all outperformed their draft slots by a considerable margin.

2nd to last game in 2011 vs the Broncos on Christmas Eve: The Bills had just lost like 8 in a row and this was during the height of Tebow mania. I thought for sure it'd be a loss. On the old BBMB fans were joking it'd be a Rocky 4 like scene: Our people cheer for him!!!
But very surprisingly to me the Bills completely dominated that day. Tim was awful
Last game of the year in 2012 against the Jets. A very very disappointing season in my eyes. But still seeing the Bills beat the Jets at home on the final game felt good. Jets had beat the Bills 6 in a row prior. I still remember CJ Spiller on a 3d and 13 taking it to the house. He could fly!!!!
Memorable in that it was Chan and Fitz's last Bill game
I was going to post about that game, it was my first bills game that I attended.

If hockey was a major sport, I might agree with Gretzky... but it isn't. Might as well ask who was the most dominant Spelling Bee champion.
Looks like Somebody doesn’t like hockey and then decided it wasn’t a sport because of that…
hockey is a major sport, and it has been since the 70s at least. It’s why in American sports there’s considered “the big four” of MLB, NHL, NBA and the NFL.

Babe Ruth is the most dominant professional athlete in major American sports history. When he hit 54 homers in the 1920, the next best guy - a star in his own right - only hit 19. Babe was hitting at another level: a staggering 184% better than the next greatest long ball hitter that year. The next year, the story was pretty much the same: Babe was 146% better than the next biggest star.
But what about football? The NFL doesn't have a Babe Ruth. Brady is great because he's been one of the top 5 QBs in the league since our own star QB, Josh Allen, was in kindergarten. Yet Brady was never - statistically anyway - far and away the best QB in the league in any particular season. Not the same way Babe was.
There are, though, two NFL players who do come to mind when I think about dominance. You've got to go back a few years back to the time when the best athletes became RBs and defenses were designed to stop & destroy those backs. In 1973, OJ had 75% more yards than the next best RB. Ten years earlier, Jim Brown had 70% more yards than the #2 guy. Both these guys were transcendent, mind-boggling talents.
In Brady's most dominant season, 2007, he only finished with 8.7% yards more than the next best guy. Brady might be the GOAT. But in their prime, OJ and Jim Brown were more dominant.
Gretzky is more dominant IMO. Gretzky has the most goals and most assists in NHL history. His assist totals alone (1963) beat out the closest competitor in goals and assists combined (Jagr, 1921). His point total (2857) is 149% higher than the second highest of all time. Gretzky also has 4 of the 5 most points in a postseason (1,3,4,5), as well as another in the top 10 and another tied for 11th. He also had the top 4 regular season point totals, as well as 9 of the top 11 in NHL history. He dominated for a much longer period of time than Babe Ruth.

The Browns overwhelmingly winning every category tells me one thing, strong analytics don't work 😄
Maybe they need analytics on their use of analytics 😂.
I honestly think analytics has a more impactful place in other sports like Hockey where each player has more of a role, and you can derive possession numbers, transition numbers, etc. I feel like in football the eye test is a bit more effective/prominent, but there certainly is room for analytics as a tool for evaluation.

Got a pretty good laugh out of this list. They listed Mac Jones at 20/32, then proceeded to say “there is no question that the Patriots have found their long-term starter”. If the 20th best QB in the league is your long term starter, you’re going to be in for a world of hurt.
