Mr. Irrelevant...
-
To do so, he would need to polish up his route running significantly. He tends to round routes too much, giving dbs the opportunity to jump the route. I think he very well could, but that's not guaranteed by any means
-
Biggest problems are not great rout running and speed, leading to what I fear will be little separation at the next level.

I like me some proche... Seen him going 5th-7th.

Alright, will do. Thanks again for all of your work with this.

2020 Draft, biggest bust potential
Watkins101 replied to Cripple Creek's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This always confuses me when people constantly have less than 30 first round grades. Doesn't that mean that it is the standard is wrong? After all, there is always 32 picks, shouldn't there be around 32 first round grades, some years more or less, due to having a stronger or weaker draft? Or am I just missing something? -
Virgil, do you think I could get in on that draft. I participated in the drafts the last couple years, but did not up to this point due to not feeling like I had a good enough grasp of the prospects to be helpful. I think I'm ready now though.

Here's a new way to think about this argument: To have a more technical approach, I looked up the definition of a draft bust. It is someone not living up to where they were drafted. So thinking about this, one way to go would be to look at all #4 overall picks, and see which players you would rather have, Sammy or Player X. If Sammy is in the bottom 20-30% then bust. If he isnt, then I would say he isnt a bust, just not a star for where he was drafted. I unfortunately do not have football knowledge enough to go back far enough to do this. If anybody wants to, here is a list of all 4th overall picks, 1980-2013. 4th Overall Draft Picks Year Player Pos. School Drafted By 2013 Lane Johnson OT Oklahoma Philadelphia 2012 Matt Kalil OT USC Minnesota 2011 AJ Green WR Georgia Cincinnati 2010 Trent Williams OT Oklahoma Washington 2009 Aaron Curry OLB Wake Forest Seattle 2008 Darren McFadden RB Arkansas Oakland 2007 Gaines Adams DE Clemson Tampa Bay 2006 D'Brickashaw Ferguson OT Virginia New York Jets 2005 Cedric Benson RB Texas Chicago 2004 Philip Rivers QB North Carolina State N.Y. 2020 mock drafts/ fanspeak/ draft network
Watkins101 replied to ScorpionZero's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have a feeling I might be a little disappointed with our actual draft, If I keep having these nice mocks. I like having another solid Rb to split time with Singletary, A high upside OT, And some good depth defensive players. Also took a couple fliers on Wrs, maybe one will be better than where they were drafted. 54 Jonathan Taylor , RB Wisconsin 86 Prince Tega Wanogho , OT Auburn 128 Alton Robinson , EDGE Syracuse 167 Shaquille Quarterman , LB Miami 188 Jauan Jennings , WR Tennessee 207 A.J. Green , CB Oklahoma State 239 James Proche , WR SMU -

I aslo really like this one- Pittman and Kmet falling to there would be astounding. We would need to pick up a Free agent Rb though, one of Hyde/Lamar Miller/Freeman hopefully. I wouldnt be surprised if we do that anyway if we do draft a Rb early. 54 Julian Okwara , EDGE Notre Dame 86 Cole Kmet , TE Notre Dame 128 Michael Pittman Jr. , WR USC 167 Michael Onwenu , IOL Michigan 188 Tanner Muse , S Clemson 207 Joshua Kelley , RB UCLA 239 Juwan Johnson , WR Oregon -

Did another one using The draft Network, still love this draft, but not as much as the previous one. A lot of good value here. 54 J.K. This draft had 8! receivers go in the first round. Didn't really want a center, but Biadasz had too much value at pick 86 to pass. Claypool at 128 would be a dream. I really liked grabbing Alton Robinson in the 6th, I expect him to go in the fourth though. This draft shores up our Rb room, and adds Wr depth with Claypool having immense potential. Sign me up! What is up with Josh Edwards board? Some very strange rankings... 54: R2P22 RB JONATHAN TAYLOR WISCONSIN 86: R3P22 C TYLER BIADASZ WISCONSIN 128: R4P22 WR CHASE CLAYPOOL NOTRE DAME 167: R5P21 S K'VON WALLACE CLEMSON 188: R6P9 EDGE ALTON ROBINSON SYRACUSE 207: R6P28 WR ISAIAH HODGINS OREGON STATE -

4 recievers (I view Gibson as more of a Wr, with doing some sweeps and gadget plays) might be a little excessive, no? -
Occasionally, certain health problems, sometimes the players themselves previously were unaware of come up (usually at the combine). Montez Sweat was one example from last year, as it was found that he had hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. I recall him being projected around 15ish before this was found, and then he dropped after. He was drafted 26th overall.

I really liked Maxx Crosby last year, and was bummed we didn't get him. I don't know Highsmith well, but here's to hoping he will be our Maxx Crosby.

According to Marino of the draft network, his NFL comp is Chris Kelsay.

Yes they would. But relative to their leagues, the women are leagues above the men. -

Watkins101 replied to Turk71's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There's some misconception with the whole women's soccer team's demands. I believe that a large part had to do with wanting equal access to facilities, which they did not have. It should also be noted that the women were payed more than the men, as the men have a lower base salary, but large bonuses for winning, which they don't do nearly as much. The women have a higher base salary, but smaller bonuses for winning the world cup. The argument is if the men and the women won the cup, the men would be payed astronomically more- but that did not happen. -

So you'll admit you're wrong if he is the best DT in the league in his second year in the NFL? Pretty high standards.
