Jaylon Smith - What round is he worth the risk?
CommonCents replied to K D's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Which happens with plenty of other 2nd round picks, being established affords them the opportunity to take an obvious swing and miss with the slim chance of Jaylon coming back to 100%. A perfect example is Kujo we are still hearing about his knees and the obvious red flags that were ignored, if/when Whaley falls flat that will be of mention for no reason other than its a low hanging fruit. -
Jaylon Smith - What round is he worth the risk?
CommonCents replied to K D's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's why I agree with the posters who said a more established front office will take the risk earlier than a team like us. They aren't going to get any blow back from it and they can prospect for gold with a late 2nd rounder. The rich get richer. -
I'm sure plenty of older Patriots fans could claim the same thing regarding remaining a fan through the blackouts. It's the younger generation that bothers me. They had no way to watch the games and suddenly once Kraft gets Bledsoe and they start winning a few games everyone loves the Pats and has always loved the pats. Blah blah. Hopefully once Brady retires they fall off into the abyss.

I hope everyone realizes...

Bryce Petty is a similar project to Lynch. They never ran anything that resembled a pro offense. The knock on Bryce was he never took snaps from the center...now Lynch is a kid who didn't even huddle in college. Lynch is a better project but they are both similar in the time they are going to need just to get up to speed. That's why drafting him at 19 will infuriate me...if you want him to succeed your going to have to let him sit in the shadows for awhile. -
Some of this is accurate but your missing a few important things. First and most importantly before Kraft bought the team, drafted Bledsoe, changed the Uni's the Patriots were always blacked out. This is how my circle of friends became Bills fans- they were on every week and they were fun to watch obviously. I agree Giants and Eagles were the next two most televised teams. The bottom line Steve Grogan and Tony Eason created misfits like myself!! Plenty of us stayed true to their teams because that's who we actually grew up watching. So anyone in my age bracket that claims to be a lifelong Pats fan gets laughed at. Some of the older folks get a pass because they may or may not have been fans before the Pats bottomed out and fell victims of the blackout rule. Everyone forgets Kraft lobbied to move the team to leverage for the stadium etc etc. Bledsoe and Ben Coates ruined everything for Bills fans in Boston..Tom Brady only fueled the hate. The Junior Varsity thing is kinda silly, and the NYC-Boston thing was baseball, we hated them-they hated us. Then we won a few WS and now Fenway is full of yuppies drinking the most expensive beer in sports and sitting on their hands. Either way you can generalize any city I won't bore you guys, but there is plenty of good natured well mannered people down here. I have been to Buffalo and I can assure you they aren't all table breaking, flame inducing WWE wanna be's. Right? Right.

Mike Tirico leaving ESPN (update- Skip Bayless too)
CommonCents replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He retired, the Padres hired Orsillo this offseason. -
Hmm glad to see that Rex isn't the only thing in your life you run wild with. Now your generalizing about an entire city, who by the way isn't 100% mouth breathing pats fan like your imagination would like to believe. This post is a nice cherry to add to the endless pile of "wrecks sucks". Get a clue.

Myles Jack Could Slide Down in the Draft
CommonCents replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This won't be popular but if we blow next years first to move up into the top ten that really would cement the theory that we should have blown the last two games of the season when we were out of contention. -

I'm not a Tirico guy either, I read an article saying this move sets him up for a possible Super Bowl and Olympic appearance. That's crazy. I can think of about 10 guys if rather have calling the game. -
It's being broadcast on ESPN as well, not sure if that helps.

Crystal Ball: Top Prospects for 2016 NFL Draft
CommonCents replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Oh gosh. Do we have any other Twitter hero's on our radar? I'm sure it's close to being the new norm but please find me someone who isn't stuck in twitter verse. -
How long has the NFLPA been so weak? I am asking in all seriousness I don't know, I didn't follow the business side of the NFL when I was younger. I don't expect them to go from being manipulated to doing the manipulating but if they get their act together they could unify and slow the owners down. What leverage do they have? That's a broad question and it's a hard one for a fan to answer. To better their terms they would have to remain unified and endure a lockout. As we saw last time though the players will crack before the owners and that tosses "leverage" out the window.

He really showed some renewed energy once Brad put him into the starting lineup. His release is slow but is the best three point shooter on the Celts percentage wise. If Smart keeps from flopping he is going to be a good player. Hopefully they can put some early pressure on the Hawks tonight, look out for Isaiah getting the Schroder treatment tonight by the fans. I'm curious to see how he responds.

QB Lynch very high priority for Bills/Jets!!
CommonCents replied to ChanOverChin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Oh no worries I was sending Lynch to the Wizard to get a brain not a jaw. -
HGH testing is far from the crux of the problem with the NFLPA. The owners are all about making money we have seen that on every level, from exploiting players, fans, and manipulating stadium deals. Why are you so sure they want to get HGH out of the game? Their players are faster, stronger and recovering quicker than ever. It makes for a better product and fuels the ever rising popularity. If you want me to believe they are trying to implement testing for the health and safety of players I'm far from sold. HGH is just the Trojan Horse that the owners push out at the negotiating table. The billionaire boys club is playing chess and the NFLPA is playing checkers, the players deserve better IMO.

What doesn't make sense that in the most profitable league the players have the weakest representation. They get their asses handed to them every time they go to the table. The Average career span is shorter than the RWS- lol.

What are you trying to say? She's better with her hand in the ground?

Haha nice find, what an awesome game that was. It will be interesting to see if anyone can stop the Blues now. Parayako had a great series for a rook.

Greg Cosell On the Herd - Just said that Jaylon Smith was the best prospect he saw on tape and was the best linebacker he has seen in 10 years of watching game tape. -

So it's a lot more fluid than I gave it credit for, if that's true about the agents being the go between for teams etc. -
Rashard Robinson CB from LSU Projected 6th-7th round He is a kid that hated school and the structure of it and was suspended by Les Miles. He is touted as one of the best press corners in the draft. Has the size and plays well vs. physical wideouts. I remember him shutting down Mike Evans a few years ago. I'm surprised we haven't heard more about him, he would be a good fit if you can screw his head on straight.

Take a good player at 19 and let the Jets deal with Lynch. That's a win win scenario. I don't see why Denver would overpay to move up when they could stay put and take a more pro ready QB like Cook. Cook could challenge Sanchez sooner, Lynch is going to need time and a few visits to the Wizard of Oz. -
He has a ring too, he's taken a lot of wear and tear hopefully he hangs them up.
