Did we have a second round pick before we made the selection? Did we have a 4th this year and next? How many do we have now? That's investing 3 picks into a guy who didn't play 3rd down in NCG and to top it off he has heart problems.
Two 4ths on a board that looks like a couple kindergarten kids got ahold of the selection process. Yuck.
For Reggie Ragland, does he get faster in the 2nd round? Who the heck would spend a 2nd and two fourths on a thumper lol.
The board fell perfectly for us yesterday, way to much value in positions of need to be screwing around trading up for a QB who may or may not have a higher ceiling then TT. That's a panic move, no need to panic with this board laid out like this.
Agreed and there is no need to over draft guys in hopes they can break the trend. Denver put a hurting on the Pats little WR's and that seemed to slow them down. TJ Ward and Stewart played downhill, having a pass rush helps of course. I wouldn't chase Patriot specific players I'd continue building an aggressive defense and make sure I have players on the field that fit. IMO a guy like Billings and a hard hitting safety would be as valuable as one of these guys we are hoping can chase around Gronk.
Trade next years 1st and 5th for the Browns 2nd and 3rd this year. Turn this division upside down in one draft.
Elway does the BPA thing at times, he took Shane Ray when he had two pro bowl edge guys. He also took Roby while having two pro bowl corners. He was painted into a corner with the QB situation so the Lynch thing makes total sense. I'd have to dig further to find some other examples of the BPA approach being used. I'm sure it's not a philosophy teams have set in stone but it's a good mind set to at least consider.
I don't think he makes it, Dallas needs a CB badly and if they can go Zeke then Alexander that's A+++. I can see a team trading up for him at the start of the 2nd.
Not everyone is going to like every player, but being critical after the pick is not going to be popular on here. If it was a guy someone really doubted through the draft process they would be better off linking their old posts which detailed their concerns. If you wait til after a pick is made and then jump up and down about why you dislike it then it reeks of a Debbie Downer.
