disagree. Signing Watkins is the risk. The team won 7 games without both last year. Plus Rex was a total mess. This team is what it has been and like most teams without a qb. Bad year 6 wins good year 10 wins. Considering the schedule is look rough 7 sounds about right.

I agree. Whaley was solid at aquiring talent and wanted to collect as much of it as possible to compensate for not have a qb. Beane wants the qb and is doing everything he can to set him self up to get one. Weather it is thru the draft or having cap space to buy one in the unlikely event one becomes available

the Dark days happened during the Jouron era. Since Buddy came on board there has been a real effort to get things done Sadly Buddy/Doug failed. The new guys have been on board for like a minute. 6 or 7 high picks in one draft is a good start. These guys understand it is all about the qb. The previous guys knew this but also felt if you build a strong enough team you might be able to get by with average qb play.

2010 was a rebuild. The team had regressed into the least talented team in the league. If they weren't treating it like a rebuild they would have spent money on vet free agents to suppliment the roster and attempted to win as many games as possible .

A healthy productive Watkins is a complete game changer for this team.

He is very limited in what he can do that I makes it easy for teams to shut him down. There are weeks when matchups work in his favor and they play well, unfortunately there are weeks when teams have the ability and coaching to shut him down. If he can use the whole field and throw with some timing he can make the leap to competent . Until then he is an athlete playing qb
