Way too early look at 2019 FA
baskingridgebillsfan replied to whatdrought's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lawrence is the guy that will work. it doesn't look like we will find our stud receiver in free agency -
I look at the roster and I think this is a better roster than last year. Then I listen to the wacky kids on wgr and they tell me this team will stink this year. I agree wins are a funny thing as it is often when you play a team not who you play but consider this;\ 1 The receivers are better. A healthy Benjamin is a huge upgrade over anything they had last year. Could Zay be worse ? add some nice end of the roster rookies too great unit no , not even good but better than last year. 2. Dline They added star , Phllips and murphy it has to be better. 3. Edmounds even as a rookie over preston so Linebackers will be better, in addition Miliano is starting the entire year as opposed to half a year . 4. D backs. Gains or Davis we shall see. plus some added rookie talent the unit should be as good as last year 5. Running backs Ivory over any one last year. I also have a feeling GIllispe is back once the pats cut him 6 Tight end same group 7 now it comes to the qb. Full disclosure I think Taylor is an great athlete but a below average qb. A lot of his athletic plays are a result of his own short comings. I think A.j will be a slight up grade. I have know idea what Allen would do as a rookie but I know he has more talent than they Bills have had since Kelly 8 and you have been waiting for the oline. The tackles will have the same starters plus newhouse and a year older and stronger McDermott. Inside , in the past Groy for wood hasn't been a bad result. Yes Richie is gone but you add Teller and a healthy Miller to the unit or Grow plays guars if Bodine is up for the task at center. The unit is not be as good but shouldn't be an issue either . Like I said wins are funny and this team isn't ready to challenge for anything at this point, with that said the roster is stronger and the arrow is pointing up If they can add two players next off season , a dominant pass rusher and number wide receiver they will be ready to compete with any team I am surprised the Bills or someone hasn't taken a flier on inman .

I am not sure if the team stays in Buffalo with out Russ, maybe it would have but still I feel like he did a lot of behind the scenes stuff to keep the team in place . Other than that he was in over his head with every other aspect of the team except marketing. Let Kim take over put her stamp on things and move forward

Possibilities to add more weapons...
baskingridgebillsfan replied to elltrain22's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
it is not an good list, their best chance to up grade the receiver position is if someone unexpected becomes available. More than likely they will have to patch it together this season and hope for the best -

I don't expect to be rude but they could have asked Beane " for those of us who favored Rosen tell us where we are wrong" they should own their opinion can't be , Schoop who never wants to punt is a football genius . Jeremy and Schoop are both in love with stats. -

the way Schoop, , Howard and Jeremy were behaving I thought somebody would have to send them to bed without super. full tantrum on Friday -
The Bills don't need a WR.
baskingridgebillsfan replied to The Bills Blog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
what they need they won't find until next year. However the group as a whole is not horrible. Benjamin is legit and they have enough candidates that something will work out at the slot position, and even if somebody doesn't step up Kerley is useful in the slot. They don't have a big time outside burner and they may not have one this year. -
Tyrod Taylor turning heads in Cleveland.
baskingridgebillsfan replied to PIZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
First off nobody holds the ball like Taylor. Second, you know a healthy Benjamin is a big addition to what they had last year. With a qb that will throw the ball on time and to a spot Benjamin will be a good weapon, add Shady , and clay and the while it is not and elite group I, it is top heavy and they won with less last season -
Anybody else have faith in AJ Mccarron?

A Sneaky Good Draft, With Potential...
baskingridgebillsfan replied to DFT's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree. take Allen out of the mix and you still have full drafts moving forward an this draft you may have secured the impact defensive player this team needs, a starting guard , starting D tackle and useful de backs . Johnson most like will be starting at nickel no later than next season. -
WGR Hosts Scared Of On-Air Confrontation
baskingridgebillsfan replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
he is a 50 year old man who collects baseball cards , I think he should leave folks hobbies alone A year ago the Buffalo News coverage of the Bills was awful, full of cheap shots and lite on info. I think they hired a new sports editor and you can see a change in coverage. Yes Jerry is still well Jerry but overall it is a much better read. I say this because the on air talent on wgr is allowed to act they way they do because management lets them. They really need to shake things up. -
WGR Hosts Scared Of On-Air Confrontation
baskingridgebillsfan replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have been listening on and off today as well. The biggest flaw is they are all working of the same heavy analytic based material. They often say 85 percent of the things they read don't like Allen. Yet we see guys like Mayock rank him as their number 2 qb. Jeremey and Schoop have poisoned the well for the entire young staff. Analytics should be part of the equation but nowhere near the major resource. Numbers are a funny thing and you clan play with them to get the results you are looking for . You never hear the Wrg guys say with a clean pocket Allen has a better percentage of completions than Rosen. We will see on Rosen. He way always have issue with some throws but he also might hit on enough big gains that it works out. Or it could be as my 6th grade coach send to me , why do you keep throwing the ball to them none of them can catch . -
Is it possible we may be looking at Dez?
baskingridgebillsfan replied to Buffalo03's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
they have the money for a nice one year deal but would Dez come ? also would he fit what we need which it a guy to go over the top . -
Day 3 of draft rounds 4-7 let’s talk
baskingridgebillsfan replied to 17 Josh Allen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
who knows but I liked Crosby inside more than out so Teller is fine. It sounds like Johnson is a perfect scheme fit. Having a jack of all trade db isn't bad and Ray Ray will be their punter return at worst. Tate seemed to be out of gas last season. At the end of the day I don't think they at anytime this offseason they found Value at Wide Receiver. I suspect agents will view the Bills as a good place to send their udfa so we will be what becomes of that -
Giants didn’t even listen to offers
baskingridgebillsfan replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
there is a great Reggie Bush draft story. Casserly realized he didn't want to draft Bush number and have to pay him, (before the rookie scale), he starts calling around to try to move the first pick. He gets to the Jets at number and asked tannedbaum (Jets) "what will you give me for number one". Tannembaum pauses and says " give you ? what will you give me to take it off your hands" . in Gettleman's defense it was assumed Chubb was the second best non qb in the draft and hey maybe but at least one team didn't think so . In other words why move down for a bunch solid assets when you can have something special . The Giants had a good draft. -
