  1. My friend took this picture last night. Is there a Marvel movie coming out soon?
  2. Is it just me or does the singer look like Joe Burrow?
  3. Love the Rock/Reggae cross-overs.
  4. Another from the 80's
  5. Agreed. The player turned his back on the team with (as far as I know) zero forewarning. His coaches and teammates responded in kind - no surprise (or complaint from me) there. I expect the team will cut ties and I have no problem with that. Feels like the players association should step in next to address the situation. Big difference between a disgruntled employee and potentially far more serious issues. BTW, I thought it was weak that a poster worried how it might impact Bills/Lions.
  6. Just saw this quote from him and it home. An unfortunate reminder of our fragility. "I didn't think I would ever be in a position like this, as healthy as I thought I was," Moss said.
  7. For me it was Khalil Shakir and Kaiir Elam. Drafted the same year, first namse start with K. My son would mention one of them and I'd have to ask if he was talking about the WR or the DB.
  8. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder? I'm a Mets fan. When the Soto deal got announced I was sleeping. The next morning I saw the family texts (wife and2 college sons) Wifey's comment was "we need pitchers". I don't disagree, good times! Yanks got Cohen'd on Soto but have two high-end starters now. Not sure if the Mets have one high-end starter. Roster re-construction continues for both teams.
  9. The Mets have to decide whether they want Pete or Iglesias back and at what price. Both are more than just UFA's (hired guns) to the Mets imo. Uncle Steve may decide that he won't be outbid on Pete. Maybe not. Everything I read is focused on free agents, but the Mets have some legit prospects and I wonder whether Nimmo would be considered a trade chip. There's been some buzz around the White Sox trading Crochet. BTW, tonight I watched the replay of the clincher against the Braves. I had too much going on that day and didn't see a pitch of that game.My biggest take away is how happy I am with the manager. Tremendous job this season and in that game. I'm not sure if there was a single pitcher out of the bullpen that I trusted consistently this year. The mound visit to Diaz in the 9th was outstanding.
  10. This is the day we all expected when Cohen bought the Mets. I'm interested to see how they construct the rest of the roster. On the aging side there are decisions to be made with Pete, Nimmo, McNeil, Marte and Iglesias. On the younger end of the spectrum it's Vientos, Acuna, Mauricio, Baty and Jett Willliams.
  11. That reminded me of two of the funniest things I remember reading while relieving myself at a bar: "Just remember, no matter how cute she looks tonight some guy somewhere is sick of her sh!t!" Each of the following was written by someone different: I am Hunter S. Thompson. I am Aleister Crowley I'm Popeye the Sailor Man.......toot toot!
  12. @row_33 was a big-time and knowledgeable baseball fan too. On the football side I'll always credit him for suggesting that instant replay should only be done with real-time replays. It'll never happen - the general public seems to demand the Zapruder-ish slo-mo replays that all too often don't result in a consensus call anyway.
  13. Just came across this. A high school choir's 40 year tradition. Outstanding. And the backstory:
  14. haha - I listened to all of those bands. With the exception of KISS I was in from the first album/EP. I could still listen to the early Def and Motley albums. I think I saw Ratt twice and they hold my distinction of being the worst live band I ever saw.
  15. Mid 80's - and a favorite in the cult classic vein. I've been meaning to rewatch for awhile now.
  16. LOL, listened to 45 Grave assuming I had never heard it and the synapses started firing. Googled it and I probably remember it from Return of the Living Dead. Thanks for the (vague) memory, good times.
  17. Blue Sky was a big Mets fan and had a relative (nephew?) who had a cup of coffee as a pitcher with the Mets.
  18. ...or as bad when you lose.
  19. Indeed. I like the story so far.
  20. No clue why a synapse fired to remember this one
  21. Thanks. I don't wanna hijack the thread, but a few quick thoughts Each combo you picked have at least been to a SB (I also thought of McVay/Snead who went all-in and won it all). A more interesting question might have been what's the realistic GM/HC combo you would want going forward - and would it include either McD or Beane? Topic for another thread. For the record I'm a fence-sitter when it comes to McD. I'm unconvinced we're incapable of winning it all with him - but I can't dismiss the comparisons to Schottenheimer
  22. Interesting perspective. Are there any teams currently that you feel strongly have the GM/HC that are capable?
  23. I wore my Squirrel Winters t-shirt for the first time this season.
