  1. If you have to ask you already know the answer.
  2. If you thought about it before hearing about it you were being original! youtube guy had it happening on the podium with the Lombardi in hand as the grand finale of the NFL-orchestrated Chiefs three-peat/Taylor Swift cash-in opportunity. I'm not quite there but I do file it under things that make you go hmmm.
  3. I actually heard it first last night on a youtube video outlining the questionable spots last Sunday. 😀
  4. I have to admit that as I read the article I was trying to make a connection to music and my theory halfway through was the blue man group either had the Rockin' Pneumonia or the Boogie Woogie Flu. Kidding aside, thanks for sharing both. I love sh!t like this! The second to last sentence in the article resonates and could easily send me on another tangent.
  5. 100%!!!!!!!!!! I've posted this before but it's worth repeating. I'm an out of market fan and didn't push the Bills on my sons but it took for both. They grew up during the drought years and I used to joke that turning them into Bills fans was a form of child abuse. It changed dramatically when we watched Tyler Boyd's TD together. Pure joy. When 13 seconds happened I told them that they were officially Bills fans. One of our funniest memories was the missed FG by the Broncos that was negated by too many men on the field. When the call was made it was just me and my youngest watching and we went from high fives and elation to staring at each other intently a few feet apart speechless when the call came in for about 10 seconds. We still laugh about that shared experience. Over the past few years wifey started feeling left out and now she's fully on board the Bills train. She gets more amped up on game day than we do and takes the losses harder. Selfishly I'm thrilled to have the shared experiences (good and bad) with them after spending most of my life rooting for the Bills alone. Good times. Go Bills!
  6. That's effin awesome in so many ways!
  7. My eldest graduated University of Maryland this past semester and me and wifey paid one last visit for a UMD/USC game. Pre-game we walked through a party hosted by a black student group and the DJ was playing Payback. Had never heard it, bad #$@%# @ass!!! Thanks to shazam I added it to a playlist.
  8. A cute little ditty from a band I love:
  9. Save the NFL from what? Questionable calls by the refs date back to when I started watching the NFL, probably before. It's never negatively impacted the popularity of the game afaik. Until it does nothing will change. I think the NFL embraces the controversial calls - more attention on the games - and the rule changes are nothing more than lip service to a a gullible and ever-growing fan base.
  10. My suggestion is to give your daughter the freedom to make her own choice. She'll be exposed to your fandom and it'll either take or it won't. If it takes, she's in for the ride good or bad - that's the gig, like it or not. And while you think you may be protecting her from a lifetime of heartbreak who knows maybe you'd be depriving her of a lifetime of joy.
  11. Where I might disagree is that regardless of personnel, Van Noy's comment suggests he had come to expect a more aggressive offense. This assumes that the reflection of the HC implies a conservative approach.
  12. TBH I thought Van Noy's comment was a feather in the coaching staff's cap in that we unexpectedly put the cuffs on Josh. I took Van Noy's comment as a positive for our staff. On the other side of the ball, what resonated with me this year was a Monday night ManningCast - must've been Jets/Rodgers - where Belichik was asked whether the Bills would blitz more after the Jets had problems with pressure the week before - and he said no, the Bills have been doing the same thing for years, relying on pressure from the front and won't change.
  13. This comment reminded me that Van Noy said that he'd never seen the Bills play so conservatively the week before.
  14. The bolded mirrors my thinking. I'm probably biased against closers whose careers over-lapped with Mariano Rivera - which admittedly is unfair. DH's are a different animal to me. Kind of like NFL special teamers, the bar is set much higher. Edgar Martinez and Big Papi were no doubters for me. Off the top of my head I can't think of anyone else. Off topic, but talk of DH's reminded me of one of the greatest injustices ever: Rafael Palmeiro winning the Gold Glove in 1999 when he played 28 games at first and 128 at DH. Priceless.
  15. I think the NFL has no problem with the controversial plays. It's been going on since I've been watching and it's never affected the ratings or fan interest to my knowledge. The day it affects (or they think it affects) their bottom line is the day they start caring. The confusing/ambiguous rules are window dressing imo.
  16. 100% - and I'll avoid making a bad joke about depends. Cholula is a must-have for taco night. The question is which flavor. I like them all, but I'd put green pepper at the pinnacle.
  17. To be clear is your answer to "Do these guys think they can win when they step on the field?" no?
  18. Not that serious? Then why not just capitulate and admit that "Do these guys think they can win when they step on the field?" was indefensible when I called it out - or defend it if It's defensible? For the record, IMO where you started with the Dawkins/Jones glad-handing before the game was decided was a reasonable topic.
  19. Your welcome? Your supposition that I called out was trash and you made no attempt to back it up - other than "How should I know?". Good for you.
  20. I think your statement implied either or both.
  21. Most of them and probably. Sorry I asked.
  22. Flipping the question, do you think there are players on the Bills that stepped on the field expecting to lose? If so, which ones (or group) and why do you think they felt that way?
  23. Global warming or an epic fail by Microsoft?
  24. I was born early 60's and still waiting, but I'm also an out-of-towner so def not the same experience as locals. Might sound like a broken record (remember those?) but I was thrilled when my sons took to the Bills - I never pushed it on them. We witnessed the drought-breaking TD by Boyd together and went nuts together. When we drafted Josh they were high school and middle school and asked me if he'd be any good. I told them I had no idea but we got one of the four so I was happy. When 13 seconds happened we were crushed and I told them that was their official indoctrination to Bills fandom. In the meantime their Mom felt left out and now is fully in with us. It sucks that we haven't made it to the top yet, they're all feeling the strain more and more each year especially wifey! No regrets that I chose to be a Bills fan and happy as hell that my fam adopted them as well. Despite another disappointing end to the season I'm looking forward to next year! Go Bills!
  25. Ya know what's aggravating as hell? In 2020 the NFL added a wild card team and eliminated the bye for the #2 seed. We've been the #2 seed in 4/5 seasons since.
