  1. My personal opinion is that the quality of vodka is less important for drinks like the bloody mary. Not going rotgut. but I reserve the quality vodka for drinks that are closer to (or right at) straight up.
  2. You don't agree with my example of a good poster. Disagree, but no probs. Any comments on the substance of my post: that a good poster is well-reasoned and opinionated and welcomes debate?
  3. Oops A1, the steak sauce. It gives it a heartier flavor. Not too much or it overpowers. I usually make enough mix for a few drinks and then pour it over the vodka and ice. Gives me a chance to tweak the mix if I don't like it.
  4. Too many to choose from:
  5. Tomato juice Worcester and/or Ai sauce Horseradish Tabasco Lemon Ground black peppercorns Vodka Ice
  6. Bill from NYC is the model for me. His posts are well-reasoned and opinionated. I don't always agree with him, but the tone of his posts welcomes debate.
  7. Nice to see Dr. Strangelove and Raising Arizona on the list. I would have found room for It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World, Midnight Run, Vacation, My Cousin Vinny and maybe a Pink Panther movie.
  8. Magpie Salute...twice this year including this past week. Both times very good, not great. Looking forward to seeing them again Setlist is mostly Crowes but they are similar to Gov't Mule including an occasional reggae cover.
  9. As long as you're gonna mention Knotts, how about The Incredible Mr. Limpett? Ladyfish was a smoke show.
  10. This is more than a few years old, but Lincoln/Mercury got it right:
  11. It's depressing to consider the lengths people go to get a vacation picture. No respect for the wildlife. In this case the dolphin died. I was witness to an incident where people were fortunate they weren't attacked by a bear. They probably still rave about the awesome pix they took of the bear cubs.
  12. When I saw Sammy get targeted on the first possession I thought it was odd. Chalked it up to McD sending a message that Sammy needed to be a big part of the offense this year. In hindsight, seemed like a showcase and if McBeane were on the same page. a non-story. On the other hand, if McD was counting on Sammy and blind-sided by the trade, yikes!
  13. 16 Until the first loss and then 15. Until the next loss and then 14. Rinse, repeat....but never give up!
  14. I never use cruise control. Tried it many many moons ago and didn't like it. Personally, I felt like cruise control was an opportunity to lose sight of the task at hand.
  15. 867-5309
  16. Yup. Only saving grace right now is it seems less likely to happen any time soon with the Rams.
  17. The Jay Bruce trade is small potatoes after today, eh fellas? Hope I'm wrong, but one look at Dominic Smith's belly makes me skeptical.
  18. I'm with you. Great teams need great players. But I thought the Bills did the right thing by hedging their bets and not picking up the option. I assumed that was due to injury concerns and made sense to me. If Sammy had a big year and was injury free, we could tag/sign him. My only hope...and this is not intended as ill will towards Sammy...even though it is...is that Sammy does not become the monster we all expected he would be.
  19. The player with the highest ceiling went the wrong direction so as I sit here today contemplating what to drown my sorrow with I do not like this trade. Hopefully in time I'll find I was wrong.
  20. Agreed, but do you want to see Bruce crush us next week or kill it for the NYY post-season? That's a consideration. Yankee-Met trades are rare.
  21. The Red Rocker! WTF was that all about? Van Hagar? Thanks, but no thanks. Chickenfoot albums were the best thing he was a part of IMO. Ironically Chickenfoot popped up on shuffle on my way to work this morning for the first time since forever! Thoughts on Satriani? I think his albums kill, but saw him last year and was disappointed. Show was spot on, but had no improv like a UM (I know you like them) show,
  22. No doubt, that's a horrible societal aspect that only adds to the families trauma.
