Dorsey had shown he’s not ready to lead an NFL team given the fact he couldn’t / didn’t have a better play call for late game scenario we found ourself in. Blame McDermott all we want and he does deserve some of the blame, but the entire play concept of having Allen sneak it from the 1” line up 4 was asinine.

Allen is a good player who is making careless turnovers against good teams where the margin for error is slim. I love Allen, never will question his heart. What I do question is his recent game decision making and attribute at least some of it to the coaching which in turn is pushing him into Superman mode.

Except Josh Allen is not playing at a Peyton Manning MVP caliber level outside of 2020.

Bring Allen in to hand off the ball and dial in a few max protect bombs. It’s gonna be crappy weather so it’s not like you need to throw a ton of passes. This game will be won in the trenches.

Play more aggressively on defense against inferior offenses, play the standard way against better offenses. Play more conservatively against teams with good front 4s or secondaries. Take 8 max protect deep shots to Davis by the end of the 3rd quarter preferably on earlier downs by end of the 3rd quarter. This will loosen up defenses for the underneath stuff, and Davis is good for 30% success and will rebuild his confidence and give him opportunity to break out of slump.

My biggest question is why do they fear the pass so much they feel the need to play their ‘base’ nickel defense against a run heavy front? If anything playing a more aggressive defensive style that was blitz heavy intent on stuffing the run and forcing the game into Wilson’s hands should have been the game plan from the first defensive snap.

Davis 2022 has been a roller coaster. A few terrific highs and currently at the bottom of a great low. How mentally tough is Gabe? Only time will tell.

Would have hurt to challenge this. It also wouldn’t have hurt brining in a 3rd LB or 5th DL on the Jets GWD.

I’m of the opinion you let shooters shoot their way out of a slump, and the same should hold for a franchise QB. Allen’s peers Mahomes and Brady threw over 50 passes today. Allen should be forced to do the same. Let Allen rip 50-60 passes per game until he finds his mojo.
