One way to counter larger offensive personnel is playing larger defensive personnel. Milano in the mix at 4-3 LB, or even playing a 46 Defense or 50 front now is the time to strategize.
I want Milano to play LB in a base 4-3 defense vs a heavy personnel front we will likely encounter vs a team in the playoffs. Now is the time to experiment and try to dominate.
This is a great point. Playing in garbage conditions one week, in a dome the next shows how versatile this team is. Luckily for us some of our best offensive outputs have come in domes which is where the Super Bowl is played.
Bills defense is doing a heckuva job outside of 3rd and long. Recall we’ve learned not to give 10 yards of cushion in 20mph winds since Burrow and Chase lit us up with a ton of stop routes.
Carter, Hamlin, Rapp, Douglas and Milano should get plenty of work Sunday. Knock off the rust and get back to feasting. No reason our best defenders shouldn’t be on the field when the 2 seed and 2 weeks off are on the line.
With the high winds and inability to complete a pass beyond 10 yards at times in Buffalo I’m not sure we could have used this guy. He’s fast no doubt, but zone coverage mitigates his speed.
I watch other teams MLB and they hit harder. Bernard covers way more ground than most MLBs, but he’s on the smaller side. Nevertheless, more plays will come. I suspect in the playoffs he will make impact plays in every game - like we see from KC LBs.
I don’t read through these threads. Lots of hot takes. My thoughts are centered around winning. We’ve won with him at better clip than we’ve won without him.
Broncos beat the Chiefs backups next week. And we get them in 2 weeks. That said, lock up the 2 seed by beating the Jets Sunday, play the entire PS week 18.
If a team can average 3 points per drive they have a good chance at beating the Chiefs. Turning a TD, to a FG, to a turnover is horrible. Wilson has to put a premium on drives ending in points.
