The 2023 AFC East is going to be last years 2022 AFC West. Rodgers = Russell Wilson Tua = Lance/Garrapolo/Purdy Mac Jones = Kyler Murray Allen = Mahomes Salah = Staley (defensive minded coach who can’t get over the hump.) McDaniels = McDaniel (youngerish offensive minded coach who acts smarter than he is.) Belichick = Hackett (that’s right will be forced out) McDermott = Reid (control freak coach who takes ownership of defensive play calling duties, while still acting as HC).

Is this Bills team better than the 2020/2021/2022 versions?
Dr.Sack replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
They should be just as good, plus I count the additions and I think the roster is as deep and Kincaid & Torrence have All Pro potential. -
Beane is average at draft.

Agreed. However you aren’t giving Perrine enough credit. Dude was solid in big games. He was their Kenny Davis.
-
Perrine gone, and McDermott hopefully is more aggressive and plays some pressman looks. Also I expect a 3 safety Taylor Rapp looks with Milano as the lone LB and Rapp playing in the slot.

Bengals don’t scare me as Burrow is tough as hell, but not as durable as he is tough. Mahomes plays well injured and has Andy Reid. The Bengals like Miami are counting on a QB who has proven his body breaks down.

The first 3 games are going to remind the world how good Mahomes is.

Will boogie basham be the next Wyatt Teller for Beane?

Vikings Chad Greenway takes shot at Leslie Frazier defense

I see the defense staying the same as we seem to be preferinf zone covers over guys who play press man. Unless McD surprises teams with subpackages that deploy more variety, I think this is the same defense. -
The greatest Eagle of them all….Josh Allen.

Remember the TB12 method got ragged on for being unscientific? The JA17 method is better. Wings > Low Inflammation Foods Beer > Water Golf > Resistance Band Training Movie Star > Model -
All-Pro DT Chris Jones not at Chiefs Mandatory Minicamp
Dr.Sack replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
My argument is simply without Jones that stresses the team defense has to be on the field more, exposing more guys to injuries, and on offense Mahomes will need to score more points per game, and likely have less game clock to do it. The opponents matter and I get he will return, my hope is he returns to a lesser version of the team than they will be Week 1. -

But for the weeks he is gone that does damage to the rest of the roster. See 22 Bills after Von went down. -

Crazy but I actually think this could be the thread that unravels the Chiefs 23 season. More points given up, means defense spends more time on field, offense less. Chiefs O will need to score even more points with less clock, putting strain on aging TE Kelce. Mahomes can make magic happen, but he’s not a God, just a magician. -
16oz or 22oz?

#1 account for all dump off passes. IE: the RBs and chipping TEs. Don’t give away easy yards. Make Rodgers earn it over the top on long developing routes. Punish him for hanging on to the ball over 2.5 seconds. #2 overload to stop the run. #3 make Rodgers win over the top. Rodgers gets fidgety the longer the ball is in his hands. #4 hit Rodgers on/after every deep pass if within the allowed time on/after release. #5 Allen & Company must play a clean game. No short fields. Limit turnovers. Think a 4 quarter game. #6 ST must control return game on punts and kickoffs. No short fields.

Player predictions before the season starts…
Dr.Sack replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
Diggs, Davis, Kincaid, Knox combine for 3,500 yards and 40 TDs. Allen throws for 56 tuddys. This will be a magical season. Cue the epic 80s rock ballads. -
Very simple Beane has had average drafts from 2019-2022. That ‘curse’ seems to have ended in 2023 with the first 3 picks all looking like solid contributors. Then there is the McDermott/Frazier mistake. Allen practically Brady’d his way through KC in 2021 playoffs only to be let down by poor coaching and a coin toss. If anything Allen has helped cover up the flaws of Beane & McDermott/Frazier. No way the Bills pile up a 37-9 regular season record since 2020 without the brilliance of Allen.

I'm optimistic heading into this season
Dr.Sack replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall
The defensive regression being the starting safeties are getting older, a step slower, both having injury history - that comes with high usage. Tre White should be back to near ACL performance level, but there is always the concern of never fully coming back to 100%. And yes the fact Edmunds had so much length, size and speed to clog up the passing lanes in middle of the field. Kirskey has decent size, but is 31 and slowing down too. He doesn’t have exceptional height 6’2” vs Edmunds 6’5”, nor does he have long arms 32-3/8” vs 34.5”, or 40 time 4.72 seconds (2014) vs 4.54 Edmunds. Bernard is my hope for the middle as he is just a better athlete at this point of his career.
