Josh Allen in concussion protocol: Update cleared 10/5
Dr.Sack replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Pats radio guys said after Allen’s 3rd pick “he’s made some of the DUMBEST throws they’ve EVER witnessed.” When you think of Allen does the word dumb come to mind? I can’t wait till week 16. -
horrible game decisions my Coach McD

Take the delay of game on the punt. That was horrible. Always need to conserve TOs. Pats knew they needed an easy TD & brought the house on the blocked punt. -
Daboll, 0-3 points at half most games!

Daboll needs to get his WRs to block. -
Zay Jones blocking ability - I’m impressed

I think our WRs need to do a better job at blocking when Allen scrambles. Beasley indirectly caused Allen’s concussion by not blocking his defender after Allen scrambled for the sticks. -
Josh Allen in concussion protocol: Update cleared 10/5

I’ve rewatched this play about 10 times on ESPN. Two problems I have with the play: #1 WR downfield blocking: Beasley & Brown both know they have a mobile QB, when they clearly see Allen running they watch and don’t engage the defenders who were in man coverage. Once Allen runs they can block for him downfield. If Beasley engages, Allen is likely spared from a big hit. #2 the hit itself. Notice the defender drops his leverage and leads helmet first instead of with his shoulder pads. He looked to deliver maximum damage, and flexed & celebrates afterwards. No regard for player safety and should have been thrown out of the game. -

Definitely a concussion. He was knocked unconscious. That kind of concussion is extremely violent & if I’m the Bills I’d give him next week off to recover. -
3 TDs & 6 INTs after 4 games. On pace for 12 & 24. Not a good look. The TOs must come down.
-
I gave him an A (2017) + C (2018) + B (2019 so far) = B.
-
I gave McD a B. Partially for the slow start week 1 that nearly cost us the game, the bad 3rd Qtr in week 2 & week 3.

I officially believe that the Bills will win this weekend!

If the Patriots running game is kept under 40 yards and we force a lot of 3 and outs we win. -
Let’s beat NE then on to Tennessee.
-
I see McD’s defensive gameplan as being key to this game. He Frazier & Daboll need to look at the template on how to beat NE. Allen isn’t going to outduel Brady so we have to beat them with our running attack & defense. I suspect they will take a page out of Patricia & Ninkovich’s playbook from 2018.

Gore can do this another 4 or 5 seasons and take down Emmitt Smith’s all time rush record provided we have a healthy #1. The guy is fundamentally awesome.

New England tries to play against your greatest strength by exploiting your greatest weakness. On offense that means they will employ a power set (extra OL TE sets) and try to run the ball down our throats. After that barrage and early on they will try to gas our D by going no huddle and spreading us out and playing fast with tempo. Against our offense Belichick will sell out against the run & try to force Allen & our offense into a lot of 3rd and long. He will deploy a lot of zone blitzes and force Allen into holding the ball and doubting the coverage he’s seeing. Bottomline on defense is we need to do what we do best and invite NE to pass. The key will be playing a lot of underneath zone and knocking the hell out of NE WRs on crossing routes if Brady dares to throw underneath. Edelman got banged up pretty good and may or may not play. Flooding the short zones with heavy coverage will force Brady into holding the ball longer than he’d like & search deeper for WRs down field. He may connect on a few passes but that is okay, provided we hit him as he releases the ball. On offense we need to find a way to get 40 carries and 200 yards rushing, milking the clock & finishing our drives with points. NEs defense is built to play down hill & attack. By committing to the run we will effectively wear down the front 7 & win the physical battles on each front. If we control the ball 35+ minutes, limit our mistakes to 1 TO or less, and force Brady to hold the ball by taking away his bread and butter we can rattle him with big hits and shake him. Brady was 0-5 last year when his team failed to run for over 96 yards. NE can be beat but it takes a total team effort, and an opportunistic defense that can force Brady off the field.

So Tom Brady loves playing in Buffalo!

I’m confident we win, and I’m even more confident Brady gets pummeled in this game. -
ESPN: Bills have the best defense in football

One hit can change everything. Let’s go! -
I think Ford will be better by 2nd half of the season & I like the rotation for now.
-
I like our weapons on offense. You need a good OL to run and have a balanced offense. We are built to bludgeon teams. Next week against NE I’m interested in if our offense can push around NE’s front 7.
-
If we beat NE they will asterisks our victory, AB, Edelman, Groningen, etc.
-
He can recover provided it’s just a strain.
