We don’t know what DK Metcalf (29 receptions 529 yards 5 TDs) could have done in Buffalo but no one can argue he hasn’t had more of an impact than Ed Oliver. Metcalf is a beast and would have dominated catching Allen’s heaters. I haven’t studied All-22 of Oliver but from what I’ve seen he hasn’t made 1/2 the penetrating run stuffing plays Kyle Williams seemed to do on a weekly basis. Is it lack of ability in penetrating or simply being doubled?

I believe Sal took issue with Schopp’s critique that the 2019 Bills under Beane & McD are not as good as the 2014. Sal is a big picture guy and Schopp was taking a cheap shot at the Bills FO & IMO. I was all for a Geno Atkins or AJ Green trade but I’m not upset it didn’t happen given the Bills reasoning which is draft centric. Objectively speaking the 2019 Bills have much to build from picks & open cap space. The 2014 Bills had no long term future with Orton under center & Backup QB EJ Manuel. Doug Whaley & Brandon desperately gave up too much for Watkins (2015 1st & 4th rounders) when other WRs were still on the board. So in many ways it boils down to what we have in Allen. Fortunately for us our future doesn’t hinge on his ability to improve as a QB. We will have the money and draft assets to easily find a replacement.

What about QBs who have rushed for 100 yards before passing for 300?

In the next two weeks Sean McDermott can end two streaks since he took over as coach. Having never won his game 8 or game 9 of the season. Game 8 2017 Bills 21 NJJ 34 Game 9 2017 Bills 10 NO Cheaters 47 Game 8 2018 Bills 6 NE Cheatriots 25 Game 9 2018 Bills 9 Chi 41 For starters I couldn't think of an easier task before him. Beat a lowly 1-7 Redskins team, and follow that up against a presumably hopeless Cleveland Browns. Accomplish this mission and McD can say he's won a Game 8 & Game 9 on the season. For starters McD already ended one of his losing streaks already this season having taken down the Eli led GMen in Week 2. On a positive note McD is now 6-5 in September, 6-5 in October. So far McD is 3-4 in November and playing 500 ball in December 5-5.

We drafted Allen to throw through 20-40 mph wind gusts.

We need an elite #1 possession WR who can run 4.4 and has a huge catch radius. I don’t see us making a trade for that kind of player, unless we give up a 1st or multiple picks. Better to take our chances and hope we get the running game going which opens up the play action. Foster & Duke have to come alive the final 9 games to achieve this.

A few thoughts.... We need to beat the Redskins and get to 6-2. We need to go 6-2 at home. We are 2-2 now. Good teams win at home, they don’t go 5-3 or 4-4. We have 5 road games left and we must win at least 2 of them. That’s 6-3 in the final 9 games. If we go 5-4 I don’t see us making the playoffs at 10-6. Our defense needs to stop the run to make teams more one dimensional. They can do that by stopping the run and also our offense can assist by scoring early in games. These slow starts keep bad teams in games. Good teams win every quarter and don’t wait for a 4th Qtr bailout from their offense.

If the defense continues its downward trajectory against the run Josh will need to turn into Aaron Rodgers to keep us in games.

Teams are 116-822-3 when giving up 200 yards or more on the ground since 1988.

I know the Bills coaches and players will figure it out.

I’ll take Allen over any other QB in the 2018 Draft.

Bills will win. It won’t be pretty but we get the W. No way we fall to 2-3 at home.

Good view point. On the contrary we did lose another game on NE as they now stand 8-0 to our 5-2. Of course many will say we aren’t going to win the division against an all time great NE defense and efficient offense but there’s still 9 weeks left.

The Eagles used heavier 5 OL fronts and we didn’t match with an extra DL. Should have added a third DT.

We are getting good pressure when blitzing but it leaves the screen open. The front 4 is not doing well when using regular pressure.

I believe better game planning and execution would help more than trading away draft capital. There is no player outside of Aaron Donald or Julio Jones that could cover for our deficiencies today. Football is about strategy & execution. I believe we were outschemed & our executed. That comes back to the coaching staff.

Let’s remember the Eagles strengths are our greatest weakness. Big DL first team to stop our run game, and their OL dominated in the 2nd half and wore down our DL. We know other teams will try to replicate this formula.

We will find a way to rebound and get to 10 wins.
