  1. The plaintiffs attorney comment yesterday on the Bills “putting their heads in the sand” is weird. Instead of using the news of Araiza’s release as evidence in his favor public opinion, he took a low blow at a standup Org. Meanwhile SDSU and local LE likely helped cover up the allegation. Misplaced anger is real.
  2. To take it a step further there are at any given time 32 serviceable NFL punters on the market. The Bills FO probably were prepared for a Plan B replacement punter the moment they needed one.
  3. A big distraction and PR nightmare for the Bills - does not equal national shame. For that try invading a country based on a lie and killing 500,000 innocent people. As for me I do not condone rape culture, but I also don’t condone cancel culture. I’m assuming our team had time to consider the impact of this allegation coming out in the media. I’m assuming they presume Ariaza’s version of events are truthful; non-involvement in a gang rape. I presume the Bills have a plan B. As of right now their thinking must be IF Araiza is not criminally charged then retain him. You are entitled to disagree - I may disagree too. Bills FO and coaches have two choices and for now appear to be backing the punter. This does not make the Bills a national shame.
  4. National shame? The Bills are now guilty too, as is their rookie punter who has yet to be criminally charged?
  5. The way I see this is Araiza is not OJ. OJ’s criminal trial preceded his civil trial, whereas Ariaza has not (yet) been criminally charged, but instead is facing a civil suit. You are entitled to your own prejudices on guilt or innocence, but it is rational to withhold judgment.
  6. It is more likely Bills fans get a clear answer on “was Bass instructed to execute a squib kick?” then we are to know when the team knew of this accusation.
  7. Does this explain why two punters went before Araiza? Am I the only one who found that peculiar?
  8. Wow. I can’t believe that special teams are letting down the Bills yet again. Horrible situation. As a father who just dropped off my daughter at college today for her freshman year, this is my worst nightmare. Thankfully she is against drinking / drugs, which reduces likelihood of becoming a victim of sexual predators. That said, I do believe Araiza has a right to defend himself legally.
  9. A guy who says he eats 40 wings in one sitting could definitely whoop Brady.
  10. Ideally White and Jackson are the CBs in 2022 and play the majority of snaps. Benford is a nice story and can fill in for spot duty. Benford also has shown press man power disrupting the WR release in a way White or Jackson lack. Elam has all the physical metrics and football intelligence from SEC competition. What he doesn’t have is experience of going against NFL offenses. Elam was projected as an eventual NFL starter. So there will be a ramp period but inevitably his ceiling is higher than Benford’s at CB. Benford is a good physical corner, who projects as a scheme fit corner. His measured athleticism speaks to a boundary corner zone scheme or press man with safety help over the top. Benford is better matchup against bigger NFL WRs with his press capability. Benford could also take on TEs like Kelce at the line. Benford is never going to be able to play nickel corner on a shifty slot WR who can separate. Both rookies have never seen the grind of a 17 game NFL season. Injuries minor bumps accumulate and speed and agility will wane as the season grinds on. Benford lacks the pure athleticism needed to cover #1 NFL WRs in a man scheme zero coverage. He is not as fast nor agile as White or Elam. Long term Benford projects well amazingly well as a safety. If the Bills goal is to replace Poyer in 2023, perhaps Benford is plugged into his spot.
  11. Great point. Just wish we went for 2 after the last Davis TD to put the lead at 4 instead of 3. Killer instinct.
  12. Damn. I know the type of person Dawson is, and he will play for his younger brother.
  13. Just pay the man similar to Von Miller. Maybe Poyer doesn’t make it through a 6 year deal, but that’s ok.

  16. Depends on his rehab, but assuming he’s ready by Nov/Dec he will sign with makes an acceptable offer, and there being mutual interest.
  17. Allen & Diggs are in. Poyer, Miller, Hyde & Oliver deserve serious consideration.
  18. We are going to need a lot of these types of runs from guys not #17.
  19. Remember him as the kind voice of reason on “Inside The NFL”.
