  1. Henry was anything but an outstanding backup for Willis in 2004. Why would 2005 be any different? Trade him for anything you can get asap.
  2. Why would the Jets help Washington with their Salary Cap? Coles was due a big roster bonus on April 2nd. Anyways, their stats are pretty similar, it's like trading for the same guy. The Jets moves have been very curious so far. They have lost more than they have gained.
  3. I was wondering the same thing myself. Couch was cut last year, Garcia is gone. Holcomb is a Buffalo Bill. A quick check of the Browns depth chart reveals..... 12 MCCOWN, LUKE QB 6-3 212 07/12/1981 1 Louisiana Tech 07 HARRIS, JOSH QB 6-1 238 09/09/1982 1 Bowling Green That's it.
  4. As long as Holcomb and EVERYBODY else knows he is the BACKUP QB and has no chance of starting unless Losman is injured then it's a good deal. I don't want to hear any crap about an "Open Competition" or "If Losman stinks in the preseason, Holcomb can step in" garbage. Holcomb and EVERYBODY else needs to know and UNDERSTAND what Holcomb's role is- BACKUP QB. Thank you and Good Night.
  5. You would think the players and/or their agents would smarten up and figure out what the Redskins are doing. They always suck and they never pay out more than a couple years of the contracts. Who in the hell would ever want to go there? All it does is drive up the price of other free agents. Why does the NFL let this happen? Make that slimeball Snyder pay in full on every contract signed. He will eventually stop being an a-hole when his payroll is $350 million a season.
  6. I looked it up. Redskins already have $109,144,000 committed to 46 players in 2006. This DOES NOT include their recent free agent signings. Obviously, it also does not include this years draft picks or next years. They are really screwed. http://redskins.scout.com/3/salary_cap_chart.html
  7. Giants cut WR Ike Hilliard today. Now that would be a decent pickup as a third WR. He is 29 and is a reasonably priced veteran. Giants cut him instead of paying him a $750,000 roster bonus. He is a half-step slower than he was a few years ago but he could be a dependable third WR. I think he could easily double Josh Reed's 2004 production. Last two seasons- 2003- 60 catches- 608 yards- 6 TD's 2004- 49 catches- 437 yards- 0 TD's Josh Reed's 2004 stats- 16 catches- 153 yards- 0 TD's
  8. The only way the Cowboys are going to the Super Bowl is if they buy tickets. Maybe they will get an AARP discount. The Star on their helmets needs a shot of viagra.
  9. Washington was supposedly $7 million under after extending/restructuring Samuels then went on another spending spree signing Ravens Center Casey Rabach to a 5 year, $13.75 million contract including a $2.5 million bonus, resigning a few of their own free agents and now signing Patten. They did lose a couple of players to free agency but how they do this year after year is simply amazing. Coles is owed a $5 million bonus on April 2nd. They have to be $50 million over next year and even more the year after that. Guys who sign with them are morons because they will never see most of the money they signed for as all of their contracts are heavily backloaded. All it does is drive up the price of other free agents and the Redskins will still suck year after year. If there is an owner to hate, it is Daniel Snyder.
  10. If the Bills keep him he will make a great benchwarmer, a decent water boy or an All-Pro clipboard holder. As soon as TD gets a couple of decent OL in the next little while, Willis is going for 2,000 in 2005. They only way Henry will see the field is if he runs the carpet sweeper after the games.
  11. Someone PLEASE EXPLAIN to me how in the hell can the Redskins sign anyone they want to insane contracts year after year and never get in salary cap trouble? Sure, they always suck but I want to know how they spend, spend, spend and spend some more and are always in under the cap and able to spend more. In just the last two days they resigned Chris Samuels to an insane 7 year, $47 million dollar contract extension with a team record $15.75 million dollar signing bonus, then they signed Ravens Center Casey Rabach to a 5 year, $13.75 million dollar contract including a $2.5 million dollar bonus and now they are going to sign Samari Rolle? He is the most expensive free agent available. They still haven't traded Laverneus Coles to the Jets and they owe Coles a big bonus on April 2nd. And yet they are still somehow under the Cap???? I had read that they were $7 million UNDER after extending Samuels. BIG, BIG, BIG BS. The Bills have more Cap Space than the Redskins and they couldn't even give Pat Williams $13 million for three years? Something isn't right here.
  12. Ron Edwards & Tim Anderson replace Pat Williams- end of story. Bills do need an OL or two, but Jesus H. Christ on a popsicle stick, it's not even TWO full days into Free Agency. Have a little bit of patience.
  13. Honestly, if I were a NFL football player and knowing the average career of an NFL player is something like 4 years, I'd have to go where the money is just like everyone else in the NFL does. If Buffalo offered me a 5 year deal at $4 million a year and a $10 million signing bonus and team "B" offered me a 5 year deal at $4 million a year and a $11 million signing bonus, I'm taking the extra million, no question about it. Just like everyone else would if they were ever actually in that position.
  14. Dallas is a panicked team and they just blew their cap money trying to win now because Parcells only has two years left on his contract. They overpaid for Ferguson just like some team will over pay Pat Williams. Here's his stats for the last three years 2002- 63 Tackles, 3 Sacks 2003- 75 Tackles, 4.5 Sacks 2004- 58 Tackles, 3.5 Sacks For a Comparison, here's what Pat Williams did over the last three years 2002- 83 Tackles, 0.5 Sacks 2003- 81 Tackles, 0 Sacks 2004- 53 Tackles, 2.5 Sacks As an aside, where would you rather be sitting right now with this offense, Buffalo or Dallas? Dallas- Drew Bledsoe, Julius Jones, Keyshawn Johnson, Terry Glenn Buffalo- JP Losman, Willis McGahee, Lee Evans, Eric Moulds Anyone that says Dallas is a Cowboys fan. Dallas is old.
  15. Bills aren't going to overpay any piece of garbage just so they can say they signed someone. There isn't a whole lot out there to sign. Have to look for quality AND value at the same time. Bills need OL help more than anything and also need a TE, backups at RB, WR and a K. No reason to throw a pile of money at a name on the first day and blow your salary cap just to quiet down a few loudmouth fans.
  16. I think the Bills would be best off by going with Ron Edwards as the starter and having Tim Anderson back him up. The quality of DT's on the open market is nothing special. No need to throw money at someone that's not even as good as what we already have. Edwards is 6'3" and goes 320. He is only 25. Anderson was drafted in the third round last year for a reason. Bills need OFFENSIVE help more than Defense, especially the OL.
  17. Antoine Winfield made $12.4 million dollars last year, that was the highest in the NFL last season. He is good but not that good. That would have killed the Bills cap. Signing Williams at what he wants would also kill the cap. It's obvious he just wants the most money he can get- just like every other player in the NFL. Why is anyone surprised?
  18. Decent article and a list of the top 50 NFL Free Agents: http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/story/8242633 Rule No. 1 of NFL free agency: Don't get caught up in names. Rule No. 2: Don't give big money to any player over the age of 30. I totally agree.
  19. I heard Warren was traded to Denver for a 4th Round Pick. Why do the Bills need to waste valuable cap space on a DT with a name? What is wrong with Ron Edwards & Tim Anderson? I think the Bills are very set at DT. Ron Edwards played pretty well last year when he was in there. He is 6'3", 320 lbs. and is only 25 years old. The answer to the DT question is already a Buffalo Bill.
  20. The Redskins gotta be WAY over the cap. Every year they sign guys to outrageous amounts of money and it never seems to catch up to them. They always suck and it's funny to watch but where's the cap hell for the Redskins? I want to see that train wreck as well.
  21. That's why Arizona has always been in the bottom of the league and will continue to remain there. Any decision they make always backfires. This time will be no different. I'm not saying Henry would be the answer in Arizona but at least right now he can still be considered a #1 running back. Now the Cardinals will draft a RB and he won't develop for a couple years and then will leave as a free agent after his first contract and the Cardinals will sign Henry anyways when he is even more washed up four years from now. Makes me wonder how some people get these jobs in the NFL. Just last week Clayton said this was a done deal. What has happened to ESPN? They report anything fact or not these days just to report on something. What a great job. Make stuff up and get your two minutes of camera time and get paid for it. I'm not worried. The Bills will get an OL in the next day or so (I know who I want but I am not saying so I don't jinx it) and will trade Henry somewhere for a 3rd-4th round pick.
  22. I wouldn't trade Spikes for any other LB in the NFL and, in fact, I wouldn't trade him for any other player in the league right now.
  23. I see some of the other ticket prices around the NFL and realize how lucky we are that Bills tickets are so cheap. I just read in the NY Post that Jets tickets are going up to $60-$90 a ticket. $60 bucks for nosebleeders. Ridiculous. I pay $25 a game now for my Bills tickets and really like where I sit. $15 for parking isn't so bad either especially when some teams charge an insane $40-$50 per game. Only reason why the Bills tickets can be so cheap and they can still compete is the salary cap. Other teams are just gouging fans beyond belief.
  24. They are sniffing the extra strong glue in Oakland today. Why not just trade Losman & McGahee for Rich Gannon while we are at it?
  25. Terrell for Josh Reed would be an even swap. Two big time disappointments. Neither can hold on to the ball, neither makes big plays and both are worthless.
