That has to be one of the all-time schedule f-ups in history. A Saturday Night Bills Home Game and a Saturday Night Sabres Home Game starting an hour apart. That sucks. The Sabres game would have been a complete sellout as it is against Sidney Crosby, Mario Lemieux and a bunch of other Penguins. What makes it even more messed up is that the Sabres are AT Pittsburgh on Friday, December 16th. I am hoping that it was just a mistake on the schedule and the games were reversed. Back-to-back away games at Toronto is also pretty stupid.

I'm not whining. All I am saying is the Sabres have done nothing for the AVERAGE fans so far. The average season ticket price is $35 and the window average price is over $40. It costs a minimum of $40 to see a decent matchup. The quality of the game was total garbage and it remains to be seen if the rules changes will be an improvement. All I have seen is an apology letter in the newspaper, still too high ticket prices and a statement from the GM that the Sabres like their team and don't expect too much to happen in free agency. The only two reasons the demand for a Sabres-Leafs game may be higher than for a Bills-Dolphins game is that there are 75,000 seats at Wilson Stadium and only 18,500 at the HSBC Arena and 15,000 Leafs fans come to Buffalo for the Sabres-Leafs games. The Rangers gave away 1,000 pairs of tickets today. The Devils are giving a 10% rebate check at Christmas time and a team jersey if you buy season tickets. What have the Sabres done so far? Nothing except alienate their core group of fans. Check out the economy in Buffalo & WNY and tell me how many people can afford tickets to a good game? Not very many.

On the Bills Town Meeting Show last week, WKBW said the Packers game will be carried live. I assume that means it is already a sellout.

I think Bills should've followed Dallas' lead
kasper13 replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The big question is, how much money will Bruce and Andre want to show up for their "Wall of Fame" ceremony? Another question. Where will the Bills put the names? They are out of room on the scoreboard side. -
The cheapest ticket for a "Gold" game is $40. That's still too much for the average fan. The cheapest for a "Value" game is $17. That's probably against a team like Carolina or Florida on a Monday night in November. What the Sabres are basically saying is that if you have money, you can see a good matchup. If you don't have money, you can still see a game but don't expect much. Real nice. What a great way to bring back the fans. The Sabres average ticket price should be $30 to cover a $24 million payroll. It's not about the fans and it's never been about the fans. It's about making money. They are all full of crap when they say it's about bringing the fans back. How is it that someone can go see a Bills-Patriots game or a Bills-Dolphins game for less than it costs to see a Sabres-Leafs game?

75 Sabres games on MSG in the WNY area. The other 7 are possibly going to be on WGRZ (talks are ongoing). Negotiations are also continuing with DirecTV.

Amonte is a giant a-hole. The Flyers handed him a check for almost THREE MILLION dollars for doing nothing and he is now free to sign with any team (except Philly) for millions more and all he is doing is crying. To paraphrase what Amonte said about the new CBA: "I think it sucked. We gave up everything and got nothing. The 24% salary rollback is a disaster. I am very unhappy" Only in the mid of a pro athlete does three million doallars equal nothing. Amonte should go see how much McD's pays per hour.

So I thought this NHL Lotto was fixed?
kasper13 replied to Like A Mofo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It was fixed. Team in the worst financial situation? Pittsburgh. Team most deperatley in need of a new arena? Pittsburgh. Penguins owner? Mario Lemieux. Things were so bad in Pittsburgh it was rumored the Penguins were moving to Winnipeg before the lockout. Winnipeg built a new 15,000 seat (expandable to 18,500 seats) arena for their AHL team in the hopes of getting another NHL team. They even printed up T-Shirts that said "Winnipeg Penguins" The # 1 pick was a favor to Lemieux for all the work he did in getting the new CBA done and for keeping the Penguins afloat for the last 5 years. -
Sabres games will be on MSG in the WNY Area. I also heard WGRZ (Channel 2) may carry some games. WGR 550AM will have the games on the radio. Simple solution is to buy the NHL Center Ice Package on DirecTV or Digital Cable. I have heard that one of the things the NHL is going to do to win back fans is offer the Center Ice Package FREE until Thanksgiving and then it's only going to be $49 for the rest of the season. Sabres games on the Center Ice package are not blacked out in WNY if the game is not on local TV.

Anaheim or Pittsburgh gets the # 1 pick

[OT] Just when you thought you've heard it all
kasper13 replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Platonic? BS. If I pay $50 an hour for some broad to go to a bar with me, I better be getting something for my money in addition to her just talking to me, especially if other chicks see me with some hot chick and I strike out with the free chicks because I am with a hot one. I can get any one of my married women friends to do that for free just so they can get out of the house for a night and they are not wear a bag ugly. If I'm payin', I'm layin. -
Why are there 10 Travis Henry posts on the front page? Jesus Christ. He was a whiner and a big crybaby. He was hurt all the time. He fumbled too much. He had two good years when we were not even close to the playoffs. He did not want to play here anymore and tuned his back on the team for his own selfish reason- A CONTRACT EXTENSION and MORE MONEY. Can't make big bucks being a backup. We have Willis McGahee. Good bye and good freakin riddance TH.

(OT) Lousy movies you liked
kasper13 replied to MelissaInPhilly's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Waterboy was a freaking great movie. Three sports movie sequels that mostly everybody thought stunk badly but I didn't (wouldn't say I loved them but didn't hate them either) Bad News Bears: Breaking Training SlapShot 2 Major League III- Back to the Minors -
All starting pitchers in MLB. They "work" once every five days and get paid as much as position players. Take for example, Randy Johnson and A-Rod. The Big Ugly gets $16 million dollars for the 2005 season. Barring injury he will make 33 starts. That's almost $485,000 per game he plays in and he gets that regardless if he wins or loses, pitches 2 innings or a complete game. A-Rod gets $25 million for the 2005 season. Barring injury he will play in just about every game. Based on the 162 game season, he gets $154,000 per game. Starting pitchers are the most overpaid players in any sport.

Pro Football Talk: Donahoe "lucky!"
kasper13 replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What did the Cardinals get for Shelton? NOTHING because they cut his worthless butt. Buffalo was the only team that had any interest in a trade for him and he wasn't worth Henry and a switch of picks. The Bills would not have picked up Shelton's $3 million a year contract even if he would have been offered to the Bills for a 7th round pick in 2020. TD played the waiting game and got exactly what he wanted for Henry. A 3rd round draft choice with no conditions AND clearing TH's $1.25 million contract off the books. Since when is it illegal to try and make the best deal possible for your team? Just because Arizona wanted Henry for an overpaid, overrated OL, TD was just supposed to just say OK to make the a-hole at PFT happy? GM's try and make the best deals possible for their team. Any GM can say every team in the league has interest in a certain player and can say that team offered two #1 picks and a billion dollars if they want. The other team can deny it forever if they want. It's just all part of the game and it's too bad that every "writer" with "inside information" is wrong 99% of the time. They know virtually nothing and have zero credibility. They write nonsense just so they can get paid and then to protect themselves, they blame the GM or the agent or the player when their "sources" are 100% innacurate. -
We could have had a 2nd for Henry??
kasper13 replied to Buffan00's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Jax did offer a 2nd and TD didn't return the call, it was just payback to Jax for sticking us in the Rob Johnson deal. Anyways, a 3rd for Henry, who is going to a non-playoff contender is a good deal for the Bills. No headaches when Training Camp starts and no incessant radio talk and news articles about Henry and his holdout. Bills got something for nothing and cleared some cap space. Henry will probably get hurt getting off the plane in Nashville. -
NHL UFAs and likely bought out players
kasper13 replied to Smoker2Buffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lots of crappy ex-Sabres on that list. Anyways, look for the Sabres to be interested in: Adam Foote Simon Gagne Scott Niedermayer and also bringing Zhitnik back Tampa Bay already has said they want Andreychuck back. Do not be surprised if Mike Peca is back in a Sabres uniform as well. -
All NHL team websites are now run by the NHL. (Much like all the MLB team sites) At the top of the new Sabres website it now says "Welcome to the NHL Network powered by NHL.com". Bottom line is it saves money. They are all pretty much the same generic crap now. What a great way to start getting the fans back.

Whats the best one line insult you have ever heard
kasper13 replied to Tux of Borg's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Heard this in a bar one night: "If you lost 50lbs., got a boob job and were not so ugly....you wouldn't be half bad". -
Last year, the Kids Day Game (actually it was a night game, so why don't they call it Kids Night Game?) sold out in time for the local TV blackout to be lifted. I believe the deal is buy an adult ticket at regular price and kids tickets are $8 each.

I won that lottery as well so I guess we will be splitting it. I also just found out that I have a dead Uncle that lived in Africa and I being his only heir, have inherited his money. Talk about a good day. Except for my dead Uncle that I didn't know I had.

Just order them when they go on sale on July 16th.

He grabbed girl's arm -- now he's a sex offender
kasper13 replied to Tux of Borg's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Anyone named "Fitzroy" should automatically have to register as a sex offender. -
I hope the Raiders get TO. I want to see just exactly how they will pay him the $10 or $11 million a season he wants being they are just $137,000 under the cap. Moss, Owens & one ball. There will be a knife fight between those two on the Raiders logo at midfield by Game 4.

Click on Section 241 on the seating chart. That's the view from Row 10 and you can see the scoreboard quite well with just a little turn of your head. Those are "Rockpile" seats. No better value in all of pro sports at $25 a game in my opinion.
