  1. Take it for what it's worth but I have heard twice today on local TV (Channel 7-WKBW's Morning Show) that Jim Kelly will , in fact, become the QB Coach as a favor to Ralph & Marv Levy and it will be announced today. Nothing on WGR though.
  2. Why wait to fire him when things go south again? Anyone have any confidence in MM right now? NO. Things will STAY south with MM as head coach. RW is just being cheap again. Watch season ticket sales go south. Bringing MM back is a huge mistake.
  3. Williams is just like Wade Phillips Great coordinator but a lousy head coach. Whatever team gets Williams will regret it in a year or two, just like the Bills did.
  4. I'd trade McGahee for a 1st round pick regardless of where it is. Everyone knows his agent is going to demand a bigger contract this offseason or WM will holdout. A distraction the Bills do not need. Throw that in with the fact he has never broken a long run, doesn't play on third downs and according to him, gets too tired late in the game and takes himself out in key spots and if there is a plan to get a RB somewhere than I am all for trading WM. Just add a RB to the list of needs. Reggie Bush was a great college player- maybe the best of all-time but how does that translate into the NFL? Nobody knows. Could he be had for McGahee, a 3rd round draft pick in 06' and a first round pick in 07"? Couldn't hurt to make the offer to Houston. I would get as many draft picks as possible this year. Every single player on the roster is tradeable at this point in my opinion. Blow it up and start over
  5. So when the Bills are 3-11 next year at this time and win a meaningless game against someone, that will save MM for 2007?. Just Stupid.
  6. I'd throw her one. I love crazy broads. Leah Rimini was hot until she popped out a kid. She put on 60 lbs. and didn't lose any of it.
  7. Shootouts do stink. Contrived idea to draw non-fans to the game. NHL has been trying that forever and what they do not realize is that the fans they have are the fans they have always had and always will have. Once a hockey fan, always a hockey fan and it usually gets passed down in "hockey families". In Canada, it's a birthright. I don't know anyone that decided to watch and/or go to games now just because they added the shootout. Fans came back because the GAME is more exciting than it used to be. Last night's Buffalo-Toronto OT was fantastic and then they ruin it with a boring shootout 5 minutes after the game ended. What they should do is add an OT. Games only last 2 1/2 hours now anyways w/o all the fights and less TV Timeouts compared to them going 3 hours plus in the old days. 1st OT- 4 on 4 for 5 minutes and if it's still tied, then 3 on 3 for 5 minutes. If it's tied after 10 minutes of OT, then it ends a tie. That to me, would be more exciting than the shootout.
  8. Losman is hurt. His agent confirmed it. No sense in him getting hurt worse in a meaningless game or 3
  9. 1988 was my favorite Buffalo Sports year. Sabres made the playoffs after two years out and had the most wild series of all-time against Boston even though they lost. Game 2, 3 & Game 4 were amazing. Tons and tons of fights in Games 2 & 3 and a 6-5 Sabres OT win in Game 4. Pilot Field opened in April. Was at that first game and then went to the Sabres-Bruins Game 6 that night. Parents let me skip school that day- I would have anyways. Bills went 12-4 and went to the Championship Game. They whomped Miami and the NY Jets on Monday Nights. Jets home game when the fans ripped down the goal posts was the best. First playoff season in 7 years at that time and the first ever plaoff game at Rich Stadium on NY's Day 1989. I had Sabres season tickets- 2nd row Oranges on the blueline- $280 for the season. Had Bills season tickets as well. 1st Row, 20 yard line of the upper deck on the Bills side. $150 for the season. I also turned 16 early in 1988 and could drive to all the games. That was a great year for Buffalo sports even though they didn't win any championships.
  10. My thoughts exactly. All three of those guys are goners. Why don't they also have the Mike Williams, Sam Adams, Nate Clements, Trey Teague, Justin Bannan and Ryan Denney jersey's up there? I'd bid if they professionally remove the names from the back, but then again I could just buy another throwback jersey of a player I want but it wouldn't be game worn but then again why give the Bills more of my money?
  11. It used to be much worse at RWS in the mid to late 90's. There were at least 20-30 or more fights & arrests and 100's of ejections on a weekly basis compared to a handful of fights, arrests and dozens of ejections these days. One guy got arrested for nailing his girlfriend in the upper deck at a Colts game about 6 or 7 years ago. You used to be able to bring in a thermos full of anything that you wanted, beer was sold all game long and there was more than one occasion that the sweet smell of pot was wafting through the stands. I saw one guy light a doobie up right above a guy that was there with his young kids and I was sitting on the 50 yard line in the upper deck. Sneaking in beer cans or even a bottle of booze was easy back then and if any security saw you, they did nothing but make you throw the empties in a garbage can. Smoking was allowed in the stands as well. I saw more than one fight start when some drunken idiot burned another drunken idiot with a heater. I am surprised that it wasn't worse over the last 3 home games than it was this season.
  12. Any point out of Philly is good, two is fantastic. Sabres are hotter than dog's breath right now. Some strange things are going on here. Sabres are 2nd in the conference behind Ottawa and tied for 2nd in the entire NHL right now. Bills still dominate the local newspaper and radio coverage. Some people are complaining that nobody is giving the Sabres any kind of coverage or any credit at all (National hockey writers, commentators, ect.) Biron won 13 straight games and lots of people are calling for him to be traded. If it wasn't for the three blowout losses to Ottawa, the Sabres would be the best team in the league. I like the fact that the Sabres are "under the radar" and nobody outside of Buffalo is taking them seriously. Rack up the points and secure a playoff spot as early as possible. No need to trade Biron either. I'd keep Biron and Miller. Also remember that Ottawa's GM is John Muckler and their goalie is Hasek. Dom will have his usual groin injury and temper tantrums and Muckler will make a panic move like he always did in Buffalo. If Buffalo can get over their Ottawa problem and at least play them close, look out. It's finally nice to have a winning team to follow again. I think alot of people forgot how that feels and they also forgot how to enjoy it. GO SABRES!
  13. There is a saying that goes "Luck is nothing more than opportunity meeting desire". MM says the Bills have had bad luck. To me, that translates into they have no desire. RW should have fired this idiot two weeks ago.
  14. If the Bills would have pinned Denver inside the 5, the Broncos just would have went on a 98 yard, 17 play drive and scored a TD- just like they did on long drives three times in the 2nd half. A 4-9 record doesn't lend itself to conservative plays or trick plays at any point in a game. Why not go for the end zone? Worst thing that happens is it's picked off. They gained 13 yards on a quick kick. Big F'in deal.
  15. The Bills get to spend New Year's Eve in NY City. I am sure all players will be in their hotel rooms and in bed by 11pm. The Jets, if they are out of the Reggie Bush derby, will win by a couple scores easy
  16. From this AM's Buffalo News: "Wind Shear ripped off the tops of the clouds and that did not lead to an organized lake effect snow system, most areas saw 3 to 5 inches instead of the predicted 12+ inches. Snow for the remainder of the day into tonight can't be ruled out." When they talk inches instead of feet, it's no big deal at all. Right now, 15 minutes from RWS, it's snowing lightly. All the streets are plowed and salted, some may even be sanded for your driving pleasure. If you read the forecast carefully, you will notice words such as "Could, possible and chance". If they say, "you are all screwed, stay inside or else" then you worry a little bit, get a 12 pack and watch the game on TV.
  17. Both are sold out. It is possible to get from the HSBC Arena to RWS in 15 minutes. The Sabres game should end by 7:30, you could be at the Ralph by 8pm easy if you have a plan on where to park. It will be real easy to get from the HSBC to my couch by 8pm. Could have been a great day for Buffalo Sports if the Bills game would have meant something. I think alot of people are going to say F the Bills and just watch the game on TV. Buffalo was a Sabres town in the 70's and early 80's. The combination of Scotty Bowman ruining the Sabres and Ralph Wilson deciding to spend money and the arrival of Jim Kelly turned it into a Bills town. However, interest in the Sabres picks up after the Bills are done. I have seen that to be the case over the last two weeks. Winning 13 of their last 15 games doesn't hurt the Sabres either. The Aud was sold out for the entire 1970's and into the 80's. They had something like 450+ straight home games sell out. I have always been a big fan of both teams.
  18. Weather forecasts on the 11pm news in Buffalo all said the same thing. It should stop snowing by the early afternoon and be fine by game time. It didn't even snow half as much as they were all predicting today.
  19. Believe it or not, Lindy Ruff & Biron said the replay booth called the league office in Toronto to find out if Palffy's goal was in or not. It was a BS call. The puck was in the glove, no way to tell if it was all the way over the goal line or not. Didn't matter, Sabres played to win after that and they certainly did win again. Jump back on the Sabres Bandwagon. They are a fun team to watch and are on fire right now. Who would have thought when the NHL schedule came out that December 17th would mean more for the Sabres than the Bills? Everyone was complaining that the Sabres got screwed by having a home game the same night as a Bills Home Primetime Game. They even switched the Sabres game to 5pm. If the Bills game would have meant something, it would have been a save the sports section from the newspaper day for Buffalo Sports.
  20. Fred Smoot charged with "Manipulation of a Sex Toy". In this PC-era, no jokes please. Daunte Culpepper charged with "Receiving a Lap Dance". What the heck, 99.9% of the guy posters on this board would be locked up for 10 years if charged with each count of that.
  21. Bowman was way better before AND after he got to Buffalo. Took the expansion Blues to three straight Stanley Cup Finals in the late 60's, dominated everyone with Montreal in the 70's. SUCKED BIG TIME in Buffalo. Took over for Bob Johnson in Pittsburgh and won a cup then dominated in Detroit. The difference is he only had to build a team in Buffalo. All the others were built for him. That was his downfall in Buffalo.
  22. This AM, the weather forecasts for Saturday are very ugly. Over a foot of snow is being predicted for Downtown Buffalo and the surrounding area Saturday afternoon and evening. If 50,000 show up it will be mighty impressive. Hard enough to drive in a snowstorm as is, even harder to do it wrecked and upset at the Bills after a blowout loss. Protest Saturday's Bills Game and stay home. Throw the tickets in the fireplace, get a couple cases of beer, pizza & wings and watch the Sabres-Penguins at 5pm and then the Bills-Broncos at 8pm. Beats sitting outside in a snowstorm to watch the 4-9 Bills in person.
  23. The season is a lost cause. There are two blowout losses and a run-for-the bus game left. Does it matter who starts at QB or any other position for that matter? If JP is hurt, why risk a more serious injury (see Chad Pennington)? If he isn't and it's just another ploy by Mularkey to put Holcomb back in to try and save his own behind with a win, who really cares at this point? Shane Mathews, Roscoe Parrish or the Peanut Vendor could start at QB this week for all that it matters.
  24. Take the best player available as long as he is an OL or DT. I'd rather see the Bills start with an OL. Even trade the pick, move down and get an extra couple picks. The new GM should be ripping the current team up and starting over. They will need as many draft picks as possible. Needs are OL, DL, CB, S, WR, LB, TE. No gimmick pick this time. No reach pick this time. Just take the best player from a big name school that is available at a position of need.
  25. Nate Clements? I wouldn't make any effort to resign him at all. He is going to ask for a $20 million signing bonus regardless of what his actual salary is (in the $5 million per season range). No thanks. He is not worth it. Anyone see him play this year? He isn't even the best CB on the Bills. I'd probably franchise tag him though and trade him to some desperate team for a 1st round pick.
