  1. It's more like 99.9%. The interview process will be a mere charade so RW doesn't get fined a half million bucks by the NFL. Jim Haslett is, in fact, Ralph Wilson's all-time favorite Buffalo Bill. Jim's dream coaching job is head coach of the Buffalo Bills. His wife is from Buffalo. Marv named three qualities they will be looking for in a head coach and two of the three we made up after Haslett was decided upon yesterday about 3 seconds after MM quit. He will communicate well with the front office because he is old buddies with RW. He will tell the players like it is. If he can teach or not, who knows? I like it. I don't care what anyone else says about it. Only time since Marv was named head coach that I like the choice.
  2. The next 5 months around here will go pretty much like this..... Marv must go. The new head coach stinks. The new OC is a joke. The new DC is a bum. All the new assistants are no good. The draft was a giant bust. Why didn't we get TO. Why did we not sign all the big name free agents. The free agents the Bills did sign are all no good. The O-Line is no good. The QB is no good. Why did we get rid of Mike Williams? Why did we get rid of Eric Moulds? The Bills looked great in mini-camp, I can't wait for the season to start. That takes us to June.
  3. Ralph stated at the PC today that he did not decide what to pay coaches and, in fact, didn't even know what they were paid. He stated that he delegated those decisions to TD. He went on further to say that money is no object. Everything from the media is slanted one way or the other. People have to decide for themselves what is true or what is media biased. No doubt in my mind that the Bills are much better off today without TD and MM.
  4. Fat Sam is just trying to cement his exodus from Buffalo. He has talent but no character. Marv will get rid of him.
  5. Haslett is all but guaranteed to be the next Bills head coah. I am not upset at all by that choice. Mike Martz? Seriously? This guy ruined the Rams, had total disregard for special teams and has health issues. He also ripped on the Bills after the Bills destroyed them in 2004.
  6. Dickerson was the O-Line coach. He was fired after Super Bowl XXVI. I just flushed a giant turd that was a better head coach candidate than Chuck Dickerson.
  7. Someone could have found a way to bring back Vince Lombardi in his prime with all the knowledege of this era of the NFL transplanted into his brain and the first thing Vince said after he was unfrozen is that all he wants to do is win Super Bowls coaching the Buffalo Bills and people would B word about it. A majority of the people around here post negative comments about everything just to get a reaction. Others just do it because they have nothing better to do. Majority opinion gets trashed by a few. Minority opinion gets trashed by many. That's the way it goes on a mostly anonymous message board.
  8. I disagree 100%. I think the Bills are much better off tonight than they were a week ago at this time. Marv is back. Jim Haslett is on the way and two of the biggest turds to ever run a Bills Football team are gone. There will never be such a thing as "the Good Old Days of Tom Donahoe". The Bills hit rock bottom with their play this past season and the pure and utter garbage we had in TD and MM (and GW) is finally over and done with. There is nowhere to go but up.
  9. Jim Haslett is the #1 candidate to be the new Bills Head Coach (according to the 11pm news on WGRZ & WKBW in Buffalo- and myself) I wouldn't be surprised if it's done by next week at this time. I would also not bet against Ted Cottrell as the DC. As for the new OC, I have no idea.
  10. Why tease us? God, why tease us like this? I want official, final words out of MM's mouth "I'm done".
  11. "Too slow and can't keep up in today's NHL" according to the TB GM. Hell, Andreychuck was too slow 10 years ago. He had a great career though and now it's time for him to hang it up. When he was a rookie with the Sabres, half the Sabres on the roster today hadn't even learned to skate yet, a handful weren't even born yet.
  12. The Jets? They are $40 million over the cap for next season or some insane number like that. I'd like to see the Jets get him. They would have TO and 52 undrafted, rookie free agents just to get under the cap. TO and Rosenhaus are going to want just as much, if not more money, than his Eagles contract. They will get it too. TO is going to Dallas so everyone else should stop the nonsense right now. Rosenhaus is planting stories about "a number of interested teams" to get a bidding war going and get the highest contract he can for TO from Jerry Jones (who will no doubt overpay). Why does anyone even care?
  13. Then the Bills should trade the 8th overall pick for a couple 4th and a couple of 5th round picks. Just throw darts at the board in the later rounds and see if they hit a bullseye.
  14. I want Bush! I heard that Houston was picking up Carr's $8 million option/bonus. Why would they pay him $8 million and then cut or trade him? That makes less than zero sense. Start of the Draft will go like this barring trades: 1. Houston- Bush 2. New Orleans- Young 3. Tennessee- Leinhart Leinhart already said he will not go to New Orleans. If Marv is creative, why couldn't the Bills trade Losman & the #8 pick to New Orleans for the #2 if the Bills decide they want Young over Losman? Anything can happen at this point. Just because the Bills biggest needs are OL & DL, that doesn't mean they will pass up a QB, RB or WR if there is one available at #2, #8 or perhaps trading the #8 for additional picks. OL & DL can be addressed in rounds 2-7. Bills also have an extra 3rd round pick already from the Travis Henry deal.
  15. Why be happy with someone falling to #8. Think big here. Trade Losman & McGahee to New Orleans for the #2 pick. Take Vince Young at #2. Trade the #8 pick to someone for their 1st round pick and an additional pick(s). Take the OTHER RB from USC (Lendell White) later in the 1st and worry about OL & DL in the 2nd-7th rounds.
  16. Vince Young. Marv will trade Losman & McGahee to New Orleans for the 2nd overall pick in the draft. Seriously though, JP Losman is far from a rookie. 2006 will be his THIRD season with the Bills. Granted he has only started 8 games but he is by no means a rookie or even a "virtual" rookie anymore.
  17. Washington NY Giants Jacksonville Cincinnati
  18. It's a lock that a team or two ahead of us will do something stupid, so at least one or two of the top 7 will be there at #8. The Bills could also trade up or add another 1st round pick and/or do something stupid at #8 themselves. Nobody really knows at this point as some players will move up or down based on the scouting combine or a player or two may get arrested before the draft. If Huff was there at #8, I'd take him.
  19. I would be all for switching to the 3-4. Why not keep Sam Adams at DT? Maybe with an attitude adjustment he would show up from game one next season. Bring back the K-Gun/run & shoot offense while we are at it. The "Power" running game was a joke.
  20. I already predicted Marv will be back on the sidelines by Halloween. I stand by it.
  21. Don't know the answers to any of those questions. Wait 5 more minutes and I'll see what WGR says, if anything 3pm Update: Sabres. NHL. Marv- 1st Day as GM. Things are different in the NFL these days. Only official departure is Tom Clements. Other assistants are on vacation right now.
  22. Pete Carroll is a cocky, arrogant jerk and he got exactly what he deserved last night. I could coach USC to a National Championship with all that talent playing a bunch of PAC-10 nobodies on a weekly basis. As soon as he had to coach a team to a win, he blew it. How in god's name do you not give the ball to Reggie Bush and 4th & 2? He wasn't even on the field. That is just insane. That would have actually been the time to punt. On the on the opponents 45 with 1:15 to go and a lead. If you lose, at least make the other team go 80-90+ yards to do it.
  23. Marv Levy can't possibly do any worse than than TD did. The Bills have now gone 6 straight seasons without a playoff game. 10 straight seasons without a playoff win. The last 5 were of TD's doing. Bad drafts, bad trades, bad coaching hires, bad free agent signings and bad decisions on what players not to keep. How the hell can Marv do any worse? Give the old SOB a chance. People are now so used to the Bills losing that everything done or not done is a total disaster before it even starts.
  24. Someone else mentioned this as well. The big problem was the players conditioning. MM hired one of his pals from Pittburgh to be the S&C coach. This was allegedly the big problem at the meeting yesterday. Willis McGahee was up to 230lb. It has been said he put on too much muscle. No wonder he didn't play on third downs, took himself out late in games because he was tired, didn't break any long runs and had only one 100 yard game the last half of the season. He was too big and wore down too quickly. Spikes said his achillies was bothering him for a couple weeks yet they let him continue to play on it before he blew it out. Why were the Bills so good in the first half of games and so bad in the 2nd? Everyone says it was beacuse MM scripted the first drive and then couldn't adjust or think on the fly. How about the team was in poor condition and wilted late in games? Three TD lead in Miami- blew it late in the game, a lead in New England- blew it late in the game. A lead in the 4th quarter against Carolina- blew it on one long TD drive by Carolina. Played Denver close for a half. They didn't show up for games in Oakland & San Diego. Why? They were too tired. The travel to the west coast wiped out a poorly conditioned team before the game even started. They got smoked in Tampa. Why? Too hot. Poorly conditioned, the heat & humidity killed them early. That's my theory anyways.
  25. PC is 2:30pm now? Marv is going to miss the early bird special. Seriously, I have come to the conclusion that no matter who RW hires, people will find fault with it just to have something to talk about. Marv can't do any worse than TD did. At least, Marv can get this thing going in the right direction. I also predict that Marv will be back on the sideline by October. As soon as RW realizes the big mistake he made in keeping Mularkey (I'm guessing sometime in late September when the Bills are 1-3 or 1-4 again), Levy will assume the head coaching duties. This time he will be the head coach until he is 90 and win a few Super Bowls along the way.
