  1. I was thinking more like trading Nate Clements to Oakland and taking the best two players available at 7 & 8.
  2. Trade Playmaker, cut Moulds and you'd have almost $24 million in cap space to go berzerk in free agency and they'd also be able to sign two 1st round picks, one coming in the Playmaker trade.
  3. Sell the naming rights to the Native Americans. In fact, sell the team and the stadium to them. They could call it Smokin Joe's Stadium and they could turn the field house into a casino. Everything would be tax free- tickets, parking and smokes. Talk about a license to print money.
  4. Lower revenue teams that spend to the cap in current year and/or over in cap dollars in future years get revenue sharing money. It would make zero sense not to spend as much as allowed and having the best team possible every year.
  5. That's why the Bills are like they are. I think it's obvious that RW is senile. At least RW looks better than Al Davis. Al looks like he died five years ago.
  6. RIP Kirby or as Chris Berman would say...Kirby Puckett & The Union Gap Dave Winfield said that Puckett used to eat Cheeseburgers for Breakfast every day. That couldn't have helped.
  7. Free Agency has been delayed until July 2010. The salary cap for 2006 will be $12.89. The 2007 season has been delayed until 2009. That's about as ridiculous as what the NFL is doing now. They are doing it just so the rich owners can get under the cap to sign free agents. A total farce.
  8. We should celebrate multi-millionaires and billionaires deciding on not being stupid and figuring out how to share half a billion dollars? I don't think so. The greed is out of hand.
  9. The NFL has very quickly become a sad, pathetic joke. What good is a deadline if they keep pushing it back so Dan Snyder can get under the salary cap so he can sign some free agents on Thursday? F the NFL.
  10. I remember a certain team trading a first and a third round pick for a QB based on one start. That team also gave that QB a huge contract based on that one start. Can another team be that dumb again? If so, the Bills would then be 1-1 on deals like that. It would make sense if the Bills are rebuilding and getting rid of all TD's mistakes and Marv making this his team. JP Losman for the 2nd pick would be a steal. There is a third "mystery" QB involved in all this. If I were Marv, I'd make a very big statement and trade JP. With two picks in the top 8, you'd get your left tackle and defensive tackle and go from there.
  11. Considering the fact Moulds rejected two offers to restructure his contract in the last week, I'd say it's obvious that he does not want to be here unless he gets $10 million for 2006. If Marv wants EM so badly then the Bills have to honor Moulds contract and $10 million is beyond insane. Let's just call this what it is- a massive rebuilding effort and add WR to draft day/FA needs
  12. Exactly. Redskins get killed now but when there is no salary cap, watch them have a payroll in the $300 million dollar or more range. Snyder will go totally insane trying to buy a championship. The NFL is dead.
  13. Coy Wire=Mark Kelso Jr. Add Safety to the shopping list that keeps getting longer every day. Let's see what the Bills need.....couple WR's, a few OL, a few DT's, a safety, a LB...is that all? There will be a dozen or more new Bills in 06'. That's quite a roster turnover.
  14. When billionaires and multi-millionaires fight over dividing $320 million of the TV Networks and the fans money, things get real ugly in a hurry. It will be quite interesting to see what happens today. Broncos, Panthers and Dolphins in addition to the Bills already cut some big names. The NFL as we all know it basically has the loaded gun in their mouths and is ready to pull the trigger.
  15. Good thing that A-Hole Giambra only has a few months left in office. His approval rating is around 1 percent and the only smart thing he ever did was decide to not run for re-election. He will be retired and living in Florida very soon so he will have zero input and zero chance on ever having anything to do with a new stadium for the Bills because he would no doubt F it up beyond recognition. A New Downtown, Waterfront Stadium for the Bills is a freakin fantastic idea. It may be the only thing that keeps the Bills in WNY for the next 30 years. The Bills, Sabres and Bisons all playing Downtown, the new Casino, maybe in our lifetimes a new Peace Bridge, that would be the start of something decent Downtown. Although, they will probably pick a site that has a burned out shell of a building that hasn't been used in 50 years and the preservationists will file 50 lawsuits to stop it. The big problem with Buffalo has been the old guard politicians and their senior citizen constituents. No change, no progress will get you re-elected for the next 30 years. I like the new Mayor's ideas. Thing Big. Think New. Start it up with a new football stadium.
  16. It won't get done by the end of the week. No progress made, no more talks scheduled and Gene Upshaw left NYC and went home this afternoon saying the sides are very, very, very far apart. If it's not done by Friday, 2007 becomes an uncapped year. They way I am hearing it, teams like the NY Jets, Oakland and Washington are so far over the cap for 2006, they will immediatley have to start cutting players to get under. No renegotiang, no restructuring, no spreading out of signing bonuses. Teams with lots of cap space will be able to spend like drunken sailors. Teams in the middle like the Bills should be OK. They won't have to shed tens of millions in cap room by decimating the roster and they should be able to sign some quality FA's. I have already heard that top flight UFA's like Shaun Alexander will be cheap to sign. Not getting a deal done could actually benefit the Bills in the short term.
  17. I think Stovall would be a great pick. Reminds me of Sam Aiken only more talented. If he is thre in the 3rd round, I think it's a no-brainer considering WR is now a need.
  18. I thought Roscoe Parrish got a 2 or 3 on that test. Who cares if a guy gets a zero, as long as he can throw a football? That's why Vince Young got to go to Texas in the first place, not because he was literate. College is for students and College Football is for athletes. There's a giant difference.
  19. I used to drive drunk on a pretty much daily basis. Luckily, I never hurt or killed anyone. The only reasons I had for speeding while driving drunk is that I was really, really wasted -or- I either had to take a leak or hurl and wanted to get where I was going. Never try to hurl out the window while drunk driving. It doesn't work. Just ralph on the passenger seat floor. It's much easier to clean up the next day. 97 in a 55 isn't that outrageous considering old Carl was ripped. He probably thought he was going half that because he was seeing double.
  20. There's gotta be an "I" in team somewhere. Of course EM would be more than happy to stay in Buffalo and collect $14.3 million over the next two years. What WR on the downside of his career and knowing full well he will not get anything close to that anywhere for anything barring a major league drug deal wouldn't be happy to do that? Just restructure, get an extra year on your contract and help out the team that you have been with for 10 years? Hell no. PAY ME! I don't think so. Just exactly how many playoff games have the Bills won with EM as the #1 WR? A big fat zero. His production has declined every season regardless of who the QB was. Time to go EM. Thanks for pretty much nothing.
  21. Cut him now, save the cap space and move on. Restructuring just costs more money down the line. This is a blow it up and start over job, a major, major rebuilding effort. The Bills are just as far away from the playoffs as they were in 2001. Holding onto Moulds actually makes no sense right now. If they keep him it's probably the difference between 3 wins and 4 wins next season.
  22. I remember Williams being interviewed on ESPN a couple days before the draft and he said he didn't want to come to Buffalo. I also remember saying on draft day that the Bills should draft anybody but Williams. Guess I was right and TD was wrong. That makes the score EVERYONE ELSE 6,789 TD 0
  23. Mrs. Gretzky lost her shirt on today's game. That was a huge upset. USA goes against Slovakia at 2pm.
  24. If Clements were anywhere close to being as good as he thinks he is then he would be able to "shut down" WR's like Chris Chambers and the Smiths (Steve, Rod and Jimmy) among others. Fact is, he got torched by Chambers, the San Diego WR's and quite a few others in 2005. Why does he think he deserves more than the franchise tag contract? In my opinion, he doesn't. Anyways, with the Bills going to the cover 2 scheme, a so-called "shut down" CB is not a necessity. You need fast LB's for that scheme to be effective. The Bills would be better off getting a speedy LB or two with Nate's money, drafting a CB in the first few rounds and let some other sucker overpay him. Clements is a punk. He is not a character guy. Some talent and no character. That's a big part of the Bills problem. Marv should see this and say good bye to #22.
  25. Lydman played 26 minutes on Saturday night and probably just as much today. That's alot of ice time for anyone especially a defensemen. I do agree though that the Sabres need another defensemen. It's obvious Miller is the #1 goalie for the rest of the season and hopefully the next 10 seasons at least. It will be squarely on the shoulders of Darcy Regier to get a top 4 defensemen for Biron or Norronen before the trade deadline. If he doesn't and the Sabres exit the playoffs early it will be Regier's fault 100%. The Sabres can play with any team in the league, they just need one solid defensemen to go far into the playoffs. I have no doubt that if the Sabres add one more solid D-man, they can beat Carolina (or anyone else) in a playoff series. Buffalo played on Saturday night and then had to travel to play a road game against the top team in the conference which had Saturday off. The game also started two hours earlier than normal. Sabres also had to kill off a ton of penalties including two back-to-back in the last 8 minutes of the 3rd. Despite all that, they were tied after 65 minutes. The shootout is a total gimmick and I hate it. Sabres are lousy in them anyways. Good thing there aren't any in the playoffs.
