OFFICIAL GAME THREAD: BILLS v. 'PHINS 10/4/2009
kasper13 replied to The Senator's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Henne looks like the 2nd coming of Marino. Why is Ellison covering a WR? Well, not covering really but you get the point. Bills didn't even bother showing up today. Wasn't Miami 0-3? This is depressing. -
OFFICIAL GAME THREAD: BILLS v. 'PHINS 10/4/2009
kasper13 replied to The Senator's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Henne looks pretty darn good. Wonder what it's like to have an NFL QB? Damn, I wonder what it's like to have an NFL team. This blows. Another afternoon spent just disgusted at this alleged NFL team. -
4:30am. Wrecked. Texas Red Hots. Slime Dogs. Hands down the all time best ever.
-
1pm games all stink. Nothing worth noting anywhere really. Eli Manning hurt. Looks like he pulled something in his leg. Chiefs are horrid. Raiders are an even bigger disgrace than the Bills. Seriously, Al Davis should just take his last walk into eternity. Titans? What is wrong with them? Browns actually scored a TD. Stunning. Lions putting up some points. You know, cold and rainy in Buffalo. A perfect day to watch football and it's been a big pile of crap really. Hope the Bills show up and salvage the day.
-
RW knew all those guys. He has been calling them for weeks now, no answer though. Dream coaching staff: Paul Brown, George Halas, Curly Lambeau, Knute Rockne and Vince Lombardi's Frozen Head. Back to the playoffs!
-
With who exactly? McCargo is out. Williams has a groin. Both starting S's are out. McKelvin out. Poz out. Harris? OK. How much has he played? 90 degrees in Miami tomorrow. Read in the Buffalo News this AM the Bills are going to use DE's at DT because they are so thin there and it is going to be very hot and humid. Tomorrow is shaping up as a another bad day.

Will the Bills make Chad Henne look like Tom Brady?
kasper13 replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They will help make Henne look the 2nd coming of Dan Marino, Tony Soprano the next Don Shula and on and on. What happened to Miami week? All the fun has been sucked right out of it. Used to big a huge deal. Now it's "hope we don't lose by more than 20" and "How will Jauron cost us this week?" Miami is not even any good. This sucks. Just for fun and because I didn't want to start a new thread, Here are some Dolphins players from the past that I still hate: Bryan Cox, Dan Marino, Don Shula, Bob Kuchenberg, Mark Clayton, Joe Duper, Tony Nathan, Don Strock (used to call him Don Scrock), Jim Jensen, Uwe Von Schamann, Jim Kiick (Why two i's you douche?), Larry Little, Vern Den Herder (Freakin foreigner), Bob Baumhower, AJ Duhe, Bob Griese, Jimmy Cefalo, Don Bessillieu, Sammie Smith, John Offerdahl, Louis Oliver and Kim Bokamper (Girl's Name!). Feel free to add your own. -
Charlie Romes, Mario Clark, Tony Greene and Steve Freeman. Oh wait...that was 1978. I think I may have a concussion.

Now this is a great topic. Let's assume money is no object and leaving college coaches out of it except for one, here's my top 10 list. 1. Bill Cowher 2. John Gruden 3. Charlie Weis 4. Mike Holmgren 5. Mike Shannahan 6. Brian Billick 7. Ted Cottrell 8. Brian (Son of Marty) Schottenheimer 9. Jim Haslett 10. Jason Garrett That said, Ralph will probably bring back Marv Levy or hire someone nobody has ever heard of that has never coached in the NFL. Depending on the Sabres season, Lindy Ruff may be available, change things up a little.

JP and the Las Vegas Locomotives
kasper13 replied to bbillsfan87's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I love the UFL. The ultimate has-been, never-were football league. So many guys that you heard of once maybe. I didn't know Jim Haslett was the Florida head coach. Ryan Neufeld is with Florida. Have to love the slogan "Where future stars come to play" Ha Ha Ha Ha. I hope someone starts a UFL Fantasy League. -
Evaluating the 16 NFL teams with losing records
kasper13 replied to janick's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't know how the defense is going to get any better with Posluszny, Whitner, Mckelvin out and whoever else gets hurt. -
It's you. They are fine. 30 catches, 450 yards and 6 TD's each so far. Oh wait, that's on Madden. Edwards is AFRAID to throw the ball downfield. I don't know why but he is. It was shown on film they were both open downfield numerous times and Edwards would not throw it. Someone better figure out why that is.

Old story but she is smokin' hot. That is hillarious. What a DB for passing out. I have seen that happen lots of times. Always funny. Got what he deserved. I hardly think drunk 18 year olds made a conscious decision to show their anti-semetic tendencies and draw swastikas on that loser. They just thought it would be funny. Who doesn't do stupid stuff when they are 18 and drunk? People take stuff too literal and too far these days, I don't think anything racist was meant by it. Dumb to put it on FB? Probably. I would have made her team captain and head of the party planning committee and as punishment for poor judgement, the entire squad would have to spend a night working at a strip club. So there.

Early Bill/Fins predictions
kasper13 replied to Glass To The Arson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Pennington out for season. Fins sign JP Losman on Wednesday, comes in to the game in 2nd half, leads Fins to comeback win, 14-13. Returns to the ultimate pile of crap the following week. -
Thank you! I needed to laugh.
-
What are you gonna say after we lose to Miami? Cleveland? Relax, we are only 1-4. All we gotta do is go 10-1 the rest of the way? Ridiculous. Sure, the defense did this, the defense did that. Whatever. They still lost by 20 and now McKelvin & Whitner are out indefinitley. It's shaping up as an unmitigated disaster of a season.
-
Let's give this one some legs. Give us all some false hope on saving the season instead of the delusions I have been reading on here all day. A fake, made up, unreliable source said he heard Gruden is not doing MNF tonight because he has the flu or could it be he is coming to Buffalo? Ron Jaworski told him to take the Buffalo job, he won't regret it. Yes, all made up lies. Run with it. That's what we are reduced to these days, three weeks into what is going to be another pathetic season.

Donte has surgery & Leodis has broken bone...
kasper13 replied to Dan III's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good thing we drafted 34 DB's over the last couple years. We need em'. No depth left. Down to George Wilson starting. Who's left at safety? No word on Scott yet. Bring back Kelso. Who's practice squad are we raiding this week? -
I'll personally drive Dick Jauron to the bus station and even pay his bus fare. I have no doubt Miami will beat us, even with Chad Henne at QB. We'll see more of the same in Landshark Stadium. Bad play calls, bad coaching decisions, bad decisions by the QB who if someone gets within 5 yards of him he panics and dumps the ball off regardless of down, distance or situation. We can't forget the inopportune penalties and turnovers plus don't discount the injury excuse. Good old Dick was throwing that around last night. The sad thing is, Bills also have had trouble with a bad Browns team. I'd say if they don't beat the Browns than thankfully DJ will be canned. I don't even give a darn who the coach is for the rest of the season. Bring back Marv Levy for all I care about that. ANYONE dead or alive is a better choice at this point. Harvey Johnson or John Rauch still alive?
-
When Dick is axed, that play will serve as his obituary. What he is saying by punting is that he had no faith in the offense to get one yard, let alone one score, forget two, win the game? Nah. He gave up. He quit on the team and they in turn quit on him. It's obvious he is a gutless coward. How many times have the Bills blown a close game since he has been here? How many stupid plays, bad play calls, dumb penalties and inopportune turnovers do the Bills make week after week, year after year? The Bills were in this game for 3 quarters +. They just have no clue how to deal with any measurable amount of success from game to game and always lose or just give up. I'm sick of it, you know the Dolphins will get well next week because of what I said above. Cleveland will probably get well against us after that. It will be more of the same until Dick goes home.
-
I agree with the first post. Right on the money. Not necessarily sign Runyan but sign a a veteran OL. It IS all about saving money. If you don't think so, you are fooling yourselves just like you are that the Bills have a good team. Don't cry when they are 2-5 and come back saying they should have signed a veteran OL. Inexperience = cheap. Scott has started 6 games. Bell, Wood & Levitre 6 combined. Hangartner 29. Sign a guy with potential off another team's practice squad is all well and good but it doesn't help now. Over the next few weeks it will become apparent that the inexperience on the O-Line will hurt us this year. Same thing at LB. Buggs. Whoo hoo. Undersized and inexperienced. Did they sign a veteran LB while Poz is out? Hell no. Why spend any money? Are they trying to win now? I have to say no. Time will tell.

4th and 1 at the 2, up by 10......
kasper13 replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would have gone for it, scored the TD, gone for two and then an onside kick. That's just me though, I like to run up the score. -
I'm in Bills Throwback Jersey Heaven. Last two weeks I have gotten $15 off coupons in my email from dhgate. $19 a jersey! White Jackson is on the way. Have gotten Edwards, Owens, Poz, Kelly and Thurman. $174 total for 6 jerseys. no problems whatsoever. I'm hoping they have hockey jerseys.

Well, that's nice but why not the Buffalo News?
kasper13 replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, I was going to buy that at Tops but then I noticed it was the NY Times. You are correct. Why the heck not the Buffalo News or the Courier Express? Heck of alot more material I would imagine. Actually, I hate to pile on the organizations ineptitude and it may not be all their fault but I think they blew the 50th Anniversary Celebration big time. Probably the sponsors fault also but most of the stuff out there is kind of junky and they missed out on a bunch of stuff fans like me would like to have. First, the team store informed me that the Bills did not print a media guide, just a CD-Rom. 50th Anniversary and they stop printing the media guide to save a few bucks, That leaves the collection at 49/50. Saddens me. Not only could there be a reprint newspaper deal, there could be an entire book of newspaper headlines, articles and photos. I am thinking coffee table size book. Would have been cool. Speaking of books, there is no 50th Anniversary Book at all. I was thinking there would be a 50th Anniversary edition of Relentless or something similar. Where is the 5oth Anniversary All-Time Team Poster? I have one from the 1984 25th Anniversary All Time Team. Would have looked good framed and hung next to each other on the wall. Tops. Sad. No giveaways or anything of the sort. Cheap looking yet expensive merchandise. Mostly all TO stuff. Crummy 8x10 Matted photos of Thurman Thomas for $20. Looked photocopied. Back in the day, Bells Supermarket gave away stuff every Bills season. Cards, 8x10 photos, Whammy Weenies. Where is all the free stuff? Even a few years ago Tops sold bobbleheads. 50th Anniversary Bobbleheads with the throwback unis? Who's not buying those? Too bad they don't exist. 50th Anniversary All Time Team Card Set? Nope. They went nuts with Sabres coins and medallions the last few years but nothing of the sort for the Bills. You can buy Rockpile Ice Cream for 5 bucks. The pretzels were stale, probably left over from the Rockpile. Lots of beer cans with the 50th Logo slapped on them. The history DVD is OK but some of the stuff they said is in, well, it isn't. The Historical Society 50th Anniversary Bills exhibit is pretty cool. Costs $6 to see it. That was worth it. That's about it though. Pretty weak overall. -
What's the record for most points scored in 3 games by one team? Have to come up with a goofy off-the-wall game plan that is just crazy enough to work. On offense, huddle up every single play and just play slow, boring, ball control offense and work the clock to death. Keep the Saints offense off the field. On defense, come up with a scheme that nobody has ever tried before. I say we play a 2-1-8 hybrid modified zone/prevent wildcat defense. Two DE's, 1 LB and 8 DB's at all times. Keep everything within 10-12 yards a play. If it takes the Saints 8-10 plays per drive, it kills clock and limits their scoring chances. Or we could go the opposite way and open up the offense. Hurry up, no-huddle, 5 WR's and Fred Jackson. Good old run and shoot. Try and win a track meet. Defense play a 0-4-7 scheme and blitz the daylights out of Brees. Could pray for a freak September Blizzard. Anyway you look at this, it will be a tough game but it should be exciting. Optimist in me says Saints have a letdown and the Bills win 34-30 Pessimist in me says Saints light it up again- New Orleans 57-31
