  1. Players usually lose big in these CBA deals. That's why they went to litigation with a judge supposedely in their back pocket. I assumed they "won" the last CBA negotiation and that's why the owners decided to open it up when they did. I think they are all just a bunch of spoiled rich people that live in a different reality that the fans ultimately pay for. The fans lose in this case. Now everything is tied up in court. We can argue all summer long who is right and what is fair or unfair. They don't care. They all know that we will all come running back with wallets open once it's eventually settled. always has been and always will be about one thing- your money and how they can get more of it.
  2. Extreme overreaction by the NFL. Philly is not even getting 8 inches of snow total. The earlier forecast for Philadelphia did not materialize. Yeah, it's snowing but so what? Nothing like the weather morons predicted. The players and everyone else were already in Philly. Nobody had to fly in today. Now they have to sit around until Tuesday night and then play next Sunday with less than 5 days to get ready. No reason in the world to cancel an 8pm game at 1pm. It's outside in late December in the northeast. It may snow. Why don't they just schedule all late season games in warm weather/dome stadium cities (except Minnesota)? What is this, baseball? Weather games are the best. I was at the Bills-Jets game where the beer froze in the bottles 2 minutes after they were opened and -28 Bills-Raiders. It was too cold. Tough. They never would have thought of postponing the game back then. Chargers-Bengals played a playoff game in -60 wind chill. Bills-Browns a couple years ago-blizzard conditions. They played. Raiders-Patriots tuck game. Should have been postponed due to all the snow. NOT. Can you imagine them postponing the Ice Bowl in 1967? Too cold. Snow, cold- all part of the game. Have to play that game tonight. SISSY LEAGUE.
  3. What a bunch of sissies. Can't play in a little blizzard? NFL is totally ridiculous. You don't postpone football games because of snow. Now every time there is bad weather predicted they are going to postpone a game? BS. What's the threshold? 6 inches-game moved? 8? 10? I don't care if the players have to walk to the stadium and nobody shows up to watch it- you play the game. Who are they protecting? Vick? Maybe Favre? Now he can play his last game Tuesday? I'd be mad if I were the Giants. Unfair to other teams and especially unfair to other teams that have to play in the snow. Game is scheduled, you play it.
  4. What he said was, the Bills beat mediocre teams with bad QB's and never beat good teams with good QB's. True enough. He also said every time they win a few games, people see great things for next year and it never pans out. He also said that the Bills need a few above average players to help the overacheiving players win the close games and become true contenders. All true. We have started our 2nd decade of suck. 3-10. We beat the 2-11 Bengals, 3-10 Lions and 4-9 Browns. I don't see anything wrong with what he wrote. When is the last time the Bills beat a top tier NFL team? When is the last time the Bills played a truly meaningful game? When is the last time they won one of those games?
  5. Updated weather: WGRZ forecast: Early high of 38. Temps dropping throughout the day. Rain, Sleet and then snow. WKBW forecast: High 36 with snow. WIVB forecast: High 35 snow/mixed precipitation.
  6. Not only will Brohm start a few games, we will see Levi Brown at some point as well. Makes me miss the Vince Ferragamo/Bruce Mathison era.
  7. I have a feeling TE's career will go the same way as JP's did. Backup for awhile, maybe start a few games, cut a few times, UFL for a season, Wal-Mart Greeter.
  8. I don't care what they get for him, just get rid of him already. I figured out the Bills plan. One of the NY papers was discussing about how bad the Giants really are and mentioned how they won the Super Bowl a few short years ago with a "three-headed monster" at the RB 's are old and they have no leadership. Anyhow, I think the Bills were just trying to copy that. Worked for the Giants once so why don't we do that with Lynch/Spiller/Jackson and win? Wrong. Giants OL was 100x better. It obviously isn't working here. Start stockpiling picks now.
  9. WTF? An extension to a 31 year old LB/DE/Whatever that couldn't cover me. Everyone says the Bills are cheap yet they throw away money on garbage. Maybe that's why they are cheap not to mention clueless and just a pathetic disgrace to the city and especially to the fans. We deserve better than this crap.
  10. Cool. I have his rookie card. It just doubled in price. 1 cent to 2 cents. Good day.
  11. I'm calling it right now, Trent comes off the bench in the 2nd half and leads the Jaguars to a comeback win against the Bills, dropping the Bills to 0-5 and people leave the Ralph, drive downtown and start jumping off the Peace Bridge. Book it.
  12. They should have cut him after last season. They refused to base this season on last season. Mistake. They had an "open" competition in training camp. No they didn't. Edwards was going to be the starter all along. MISTAKE. After two REAL games, they finally saw what everyone else already knew so they benched TE. Then they cut him so they wouldn't have to pay him $1.6 million to hold a clipboard and pass out gatorade. Fair enough. What did we learn from all of this? That the Bills have been making mistakes for a decade now. Once they realize they in fact have made a mistake they try and correct it long after everyone knows it was a mistake and look totally foolish. Gailey is obviously not a "QB fixer" as was proclaimed many times by many "experts". TE sucked and everyone except those running the team knew it back in 2009. All they had to do was watch game films from last year and I would hope they could have seen how bad TE was. But no, they gave him another shot and didn't bother to find another QB. I don't know why. All I know is we are 0-3 and still have garbage at the QB position.
  13. If Dennis Shaw, Dan Darragh, James Harris, Gary Marangi or Busty Underwood were given a chance, would they have become good QB's with the Bills? Actually, I think Shaw was Rookie of the Year and then held out and was gone after Ferguson was drafted in 73. The other guys weren't given a fair shot.
  14. You could add a 1 to the Edwards jersey and tape over the name and have a Jack Kemp "Future" jersey. Can tape over Losman and have a Flutie "Future" jersey. My take on a throwback jersey. You could just donate them to charity and start over next year. Whomever the new QB that we draft is, that's what I am going with along with the throwback Kelly and B Smith jerseys that I have. I think my Poz jersey will be headed to the donate bin after this year. Nobody on this team is worthy of having fans wear their number. Spiller maybe but that's about it.
  15. He was released for two reasons. One, he just flat out sucks beyond words. Two, it ties into number one. No way Ralph Wilson was going to pay Edwards $1.6 million for the rest of this season to hold a clipboard. He gets released, they bring back Levi Brown and Ralph pays the backup and the 3rd QB league minimum. He saves a million bucks by releasing Edwards. They aren't going anywhere this year. Only thing they are doing is fighting for the 1st pick in the 2011 draft. What's the difference if Brohm or Brown has to play? No difference at all. Why waste a million bucks?
  16. It's not up to the fans who plays or starts or gets cut. Fitzpatrick is a career backup starting for the worst team in the league. Nothing more. He is too short, throws sidearm and has a knack for throwing interceptions at the wrong times. He is not the answer. He is just taking the spot because there is nobody else. The next Bills starting QB is still in college. Do I hate him? No, but I am not a fan of his. I think he sucks just a bit less than Trent did.
  17. With the way things go with the Bills, would anyone be shocked if Jacksonville does pick up Edwards, he comes off the bench and beats the Bills in two weeks? Just saying. If the Bills can't hit on one of the half dozen potential "franchise" QB's in the draft next year, they may as well just fold or move or drop a level to the UFL.
  18. Decisive? More like clueless. Edwards won the starting job in camp, started two games, got benched and then cut. That's ridiculous. A total joke. They didn't see how awful he was in the regular season last year? They tape over games over something? Just another waste of time. They could have released him after last season and drafted a QB higher than the 7th round. So, when Fitzpatrick gets hurt, we are down to Brohm and TBA. Nice.
  19. At least the losses might be a bit closer. Two absolutley killer INT's. That's acceptable for Bills fans these days.
  20. 8 ties. Whoo-hoo! I think it was 1974 or 75 they added OT to eliminate a chance of a tie. Bills had winning records in 62, 63, 64, 65, 66, 73, 74, 75, 80, 81, 88, 89, 90, 91, 92, 93, 95, 96, 98, 99 and 04. 21 out of 51 seasons. The problem is one winning record since 2000 and that was 6 years ago. No playoffs since 1999 and no playoff wins since 1995. 58-88 since 2001. 30 games under .500. It's not getting any better either, it's getting worse and that's where the frustration is. 2006-2008 were all 7-9 with some heartbreaking losses due to poor coaching and bad decisions from top to bottom, now instead of improving on that, it's back to square one.
  21. I did not know NFL teams could trade with CFL teams. Edwards, a couple thousand wings and a dozen cases of Genny Cream Ale Pounders to the Argos for a 12th round pick in the 2011 CFL Draft.
  22. I thought bags aren't allowed in the stadium to begin with? You could stretch the sign meanings. "Batavia Party Zone" could be interpreted to imply that there is some sort of fun that includes drinking going on in that area or "zone". Jeez, that sign has been there FOREVER. "Skid Row" could be taken to mean that some unsavory, down on their luck fans reside in that section on game day. Two thoughts: One, they have to ban those signs because they are not going to allow any negative signs as the season wears on. 40,000 empty seats should get the message across. Two, they are getting away from anything that has to do with drinking or implies drinking. Of course, the COORS LIGHT Rockpile is OK because that is paid advertising.
  23. Only $75.88! Disgusting. http://www.sportsmemorabilia.com/sports-products/scott-norwood-buffalo-bills-8x10-photo1.html
  24. I'd rather get Jeff George. Why not get Kelly out of retirement? He is only 50. Damn, 50. That's crazy. Where's Flutie? He's only 48. Losman find a job yet? This season is over. Start watching Mallet, Luck and Ponder. All three are on TV later today.
  25. It's 20 years ago. It's over. Who cares what the Giants do? What aggravates me even more is that Norwood will sign autographs with "Wide Right" inscribed for an extra $5. Number one, who would even want his autograph and number two, who would pay actual money for it? Man, those were the days though. Starting in 1988 and going through 1993, even throughout the rest of the 90's. Glory days indeed and I consider myself lucky to have been 16 in 1988 and growing up through those years and Bills seasons, to have had season tickets and even going to a Super Bowl. What absolute and total fun. Those days every game was a big party and the Bills kicked the daylights out of some teams and there were some very exciting games as well. One kick and we would have had one. Kinda sad that it has turned into what it is now.
