  1. Why would Daboll -- or any competent coach -- want to work for Dan Snyder? If this season goes the way it's going so far, I'm sure Daboll will probably get some interviews, but you've got to figure that the Redskins job is among the least attractive in the NFL.
  2. Sure, but there's lots of reasons for fans to be optimistic. Allen made huge strides from the first half of his rookie season to his second half -- it was watching two totally different players. Then he made another huge step forward over the offseason. He has plenty of room for improvement, but the good news is that he's getting better over time and is very clearly on a positive trajectory. If Josh Allen 2022 is playing exactly like Josh Allen 2019, that would be unfortunate. But we have no reason to expect that and good reason to expect additional development.
  3. I thought about taking the family to this game, but the tickets were very expensive, and airfare was ridiculous too. Too bad -- figures to be a fun game!
  4. Keep in mind that Michael Irvin has a similar gig. Literally anybody can do this job apparently.
  5. Good point, especially about the Steelers. I forgot that they're down to their third QB.
  6. It seems like there are way more godawful teams than usual. Dolphins, Broncos, Bengals, Cards, Giants, Skins all look putrid. I'm not including the Jets in there because they'll get Darnold back and I'm assuming the Steelers and Falcons will get things sorted out, but there's a really large pool of bottom-feeders this year.
  7. People still bring up "he turned the ball over four times in one half" when literally none of those turnovers were the result of bad decision-making, sloppiness, carelessness with the football, etc. Not that Allen isn't occasionally reckless of course, but the amount of grief this guy gets over plays that come up in practically every game played in the NFL is amazing.
  8. They look legit, but they haven't played a good offense yet. (Ours is merely decent). I think they're clearly in the top 5 and they can lean on them to win games.
  9. Nobody in the national media is going to give any credence to stats we put up against Miami. Just take the W and move on. We'll get respect when we become regulars in the post-season.
  10. Loved this play. It's 3rd and short, and a first down ends the game. The Titans all knew that Gore was getting the ball. The entire stadium knew that Gore was getting the ball. Everyone watching at home knew that Gore was getting the ball. Sherpas in rural Nepal knew that Gore was getting the ball. And Allen just casually strolls for 5 yards on the naked bootleg. Game over.
  11. I think the first 16 games have shown that Allen has a significantly higher floor than we were led to believe going into the draft. He has already proven that he is not Jamarcus Russell, which was one of the unflattering comparison points at the time. His floor is more like "low-quality starter." Obviously his ceiling is way higher than that, but the downside risk was blown way out of proportion.
  12. I agree -- after that missed FG, I texted my son about what a huge possession that was to come away with no points allowed and the game still tied. That was an incredibly eventful possession that the Titans had to feel like they get a TD on like 90% of the time, but unfortunately for them our defense is the other 10%.
  13. Yes. I originally hated the bye coming this early, but we took a ton of little injuries in this game, so lets get everybody healthy.
  14. Good overall. JA needs to do a better job taking care of the football, and we as fans are going to have to accept the occasional WTF play. But he's a winner, and I'm happy with that.
  15. Wow, some people just really can't accept a road win against a quality opponent.
  16. It makes me feel very old to realize that I get the "banana in the tailpipe" reference and nobody else does.
  17. Did you watch the last drive? That's the textbook definition of "putting a team away."
  18. Beautiful game! We won, and I love these kinds of games anyway. I love the Flutie vs Baltimore comparison. I still remember that one!
  19. Let's also give a hat tip to Beane for giving us some serious depth on the line, along with lots of versatility. When a team loses that many linemen in a defensive struggle, they should really lose the game. We persevered.
  20. I was unhappy to see such an early bye on our schedule, but now it looks like good timing. Great win today, and now let's get everybody healthy.
  21. I know people forget this now, but the Jets were a pretty good team -- on par with the Titans -- when we played them.
  22. They have until 4:00 tomorrow to bring up Webb. No rush.
  23. Darnold should consider himself lucky if mono was the only disease he contracted from that encounter.
  24. Kind of hard to criticize that decision. They're not beating the Eagles with their third-string QB no matter how many reps he gets, so you might as well give the first-team reps to the guy who gives you a chance to win if he can play.
