  1. If we don't turn the ball over, I think our odds are better than 50-50 of shutting them out.
  2. That pick was pretty bad, but in Rosen's defense I think he was confused by having a pocket to step into.
  3. Rosen literally may not survive this season. There's no way that guy can take this kind of pounding for 16 weeks.
  4. Washington has given up 30+ points in four of their five games this year. Against Miami, their defense looks like the 85 Bears.
  5. This was completely predictable. Heading into this game, the prevailing attitude was "I won't mind losing to the Patriots, but I at least want a competitive game, not a blow out." But the problem with that is that if the Bills actually play the Patriots tough -- which they did -- it guarantees that you'll be able to find two or three key plays to obsess over. All close games are like that. It was either going to be: a) Bills get blown out, losing 24-3 or something like that. The sky is falling, we're a fraud, we're nowhere near being able to compete, etc. b) Bills lose a close one 16-10 despite outgaining and arguably outplaying the Patriots. Two weeks and a big road win later and we're still nitpicking every play. There was never any chance of losing to NE and moving on with our lives. Any loss was always going to freak people out.
  6. After re-watching the Tennessee game, Ford actually played well in that one (all snaps at RT as far as I could tell). He got beaten once by a speed rusher, giving up a sack, but that was his only negative play. Otherwise he was solid. Hope that's a sign of growth.
  7. 10-6 is the floor for this team, and I would be somewhat disappointed if we win only 10 games. 12-4 is a realistic aspiration. As far as playoffs go, the best we can expect to do is the 5 seed, and I fully expect a wild card spot. This may be the first year in eons when our Week 17 game is irrelevant not because we're out of playoff contention, but because we're locked into a wild card spot with no possibility of improvement.
  8. I loved the Cody Ford pick at the time, but I would have liked Mecalf too, and honestly Metcalf is looking like the better choice after a whopping total of five games. Let's give Ford a chance to settle in and find a place on the line, and we can address WR next year in a draft stacked at the position.
  9. This is my goal for how I spend the late afternoon halftime slot, hopefully done in time for the start of the third quarter.
  10. I disagree with Washington over Miami. As much as I dislike seeing Miami win, it would be worth it just for the comedy value of screwing up the tank.
  11. I want the Bills to take Miami seriously and step their throats on game day. But I'll still choose to disrespect Miami personally. This is a team that's deliberately built to lose, and they're making a mockery of the sport. My one and only hope for this franchise is that they accidentally win this weekend and screw up the tank.
  12. My son and I made the pilgrimage a few years ago for the home opener against the Colts. (Wrecks' first season). We had a great time. Have fun!
  13. Any reason to think the Dolphins can crack double digits? I could easily imagine this game being something like 28-3 by the end. Does anybody actually know the last time we were favored by this much? I remember one of the SB-era teams blowing a game to the Raiders where they were favored by about two TDs, but I don't recall what the line actually was.
  14. This is on par with "Would the US women's national soccer team beat the men's team?"
  15. Why would Daboll -- or any competent coach -- want to work for Dan Snyder? If this season goes the way it's going so far, I'm sure Daboll will probably get some interviews, but you've got to figure that the Redskins job is among the least attractive in the NFL.
  16. Sure, but there's lots of reasons for fans to be optimistic. Allen made huge strides from the first half of his rookie season to his second half -- it was watching two totally different players. Then he made another huge step forward over the offseason. He has plenty of room for improvement, but the good news is that he's getting better over time and is very clearly on a positive trajectory. If Josh Allen 2022 is playing exactly like Josh Allen 2019, that would be unfortunate. But we have no reason to expect that and good reason to expect additional development.
  17. I thought about taking the family to this game, but the tickets were very expensive, and airfare was ridiculous too. Too bad -- figures to be a fun game!
  18. Keep in mind that Michael Irvin has a similar gig. Literally anybody can do this job apparently.
  19. Good point, especially about the Steelers. I forgot that they're down to their third QB.
  20. It seems like there are way more godawful teams than usual. Dolphins, Broncos, Bengals, Cards, Giants, Skins all look putrid. I'm not including the Jets in there because they'll get Darnold back and I'm assuming the Steelers and Falcons will get things sorted out, but there's a really large pool of bottom-feeders this year.
  21. People still bring up "he turned the ball over four times in one half" when literally none of those turnovers were the result of bad decision-making, sloppiness, carelessness with the football, etc. Not that Allen isn't occasionally reckless of course, but the amount of grief this guy gets over plays that come up in practically every game played in the NFL is amazing.
  22. They look legit, but they haven't played a good offense yet. (Ours is merely decent). I think they're clearly in the top 5 and they can lean on them to win games.
