  1. I rewatched the Tennessee game on Saturday focusing entirely on Ford and Ed Oliver (when he was on the field). Honestly, Ford was fine at RT. He's clearly a better run-blocker than pass-blocker, and he did give up a sack on a play where he was beaten immediately off the snap, but he wasn't the liability in pass protection that he was in some earlier games. I'm not sold by any stretch of the imagination and I suspect his long-term future might be at guard, but there's reason for optimism.
  2. The Bills have had no problem moving the ball on anybody except NE. The only reason why we needed a comeback against the Jets was because of weird, flukey turnovers. The only reason why we weren't up 27-0 on Cincinnati at halftime was because of penalties and mental mistakes. At some point, we are going to have a mostly error-free game. If it comes against a team like Miami, it will result in us hanging 40+ points on them. Our offense figures to run way more plays than them because they aren't going to be able to sustain drives or even get first downs against our defense. The opportunity is definitely there.
  3. That was also the game after the Dennis Byrd injury. Everybody expected the Jets to just mail it in. Obviously they didn't.
  4. I strongly agree. At the time that we beat them, they were a good team. Not world-beaters, but a very solid road win. This is not really an 0-4 team.
  5. Rosen couldn't move the ball against a defense that was regularly giving up 30 a game. It's going to be interesting to see what our defense does to these guys.
  6. I expect to see Rosen, who is the worse of the two options, but honestly it shouldn't matter. Miami looked every bit as awful as advertised.
  7. Keenam with a "Bad Josh" moment there.
  8. I'm waiting for Fitzpatrick to break out Sharp Dressed Man.
  9. Rosen did his part. Now Fitz needs to close this one out.
  10. If we don't turn the ball over, I think our odds are better than 50-50 of shutting them out.
  11. That pick was pretty bad, but in Rosen's defense I think he was confused by having a pocket to step into.
  12. Rosen literally may not survive this season. There's no way that guy can take this kind of pounding for 16 weeks.
  13. Washington has given up 30+ points in four of their five games this year. Against Miami, their defense looks like the 85 Bears.
  14. This was completely predictable. Heading into this game, the prevailing attitude was "I won't mind losing to the Patriots, but I at least want a competitive game, not a blow out." But the problem with that is that if the Bills actually play the Patriots tough -- which they did -- it guarantees that you'll be able to find two or three key plays to obsess over. All close games are like that. It was either going to be: a) Bills get blown out, losing 24-3 or something like that. The sky is falling, we're a fraud, we're nowhere near being able to compete, etc. b) Bills lose a close one 16-10 despite outgaining and arguably outplaying the Patriots. Two weeks and a big road win later and we're still nitpicking every play. There was never any chance of losing to NE and moving on with our lives. Any loss was always going to freak people out.
  15. After re-watching the Tennessee game, Ford actually played well in that one (all snaps at RT as far as I could tell). He got beaten once by a speed rusher, giving up a sack, but that was his only negative play. Otherwise he was solid. Hope that's a sign of growth.
  16. 10-6 is the floor for this team, and I would be somewhat disappointed if we win only 10 games. 12-4 is a realistic aspiration. As far as playoffs go, the best we can expect to do is the 5 seed, and I fully expect a wild card spot. This may be the first year in eons when our Week 17 game is irrelevant not because we're out of playoff contention, but because we're locked into a wild card spot with no possibility of improvement.
  17. I loved the Cody Ford pick at the time, but I would have liked Mecalf too, and honestly Metcalf is looking like the better choice after a whopping total of five games. Let's give Ford a chance to settle in and find a place on the line, and we can address WR next year in a draft stacked at the position.
  18. This is my goal for how I spend the late afternoon halftime slot, hopefully done in time for the start of the third quarter.
  19. I disagree with Washington over Miami. As much as I dislike seeing Miami win, it would be worth it just for the comedy value of screwing up the tank.
  20. I want the Bills to take Miami seriously and step their throats on game day. But I'll still choose to disrespect Miami personally. This is a team that's deliberately built to lose, and they're making a mockery of the sport. My one and only hope for this franchise is that they accidentally win this weekend and screw up the tank.
  21. My son and I made the pilgrimage a few years ago for the home opener against the Colts. (Wrecks' first season). We had a great time. Have fun!
  22. Any reason to think the Dolphins can crack double digits? I could easily imagine this game being something like 28-3 by the end. Does anybody actually know the last time we were favored by this much? I remember one of the SB-era teams blowing a game to the Raiders where they were favored by about two TDs, but I don't recall what the line actually was.
  23. This is on par with "Would the US women's national soccer team beat the men's team?"
