  1. I'm very happy with how our offense performed this week, but the next five weeks are going to tell us a lot about our roster. I said earlier in the season that our offense figured to get better as the year went along because of the injuries to Singletary and Kroft and the time it takes for all the new guys to gel. To be honest, I soured a bit on this unit a few weeks ago, but I really, really hope that we can sustain the performance that we've had the past couple of weeks. Right now would be an excellent time to peak.
  2. I think I would sooner share Thanksgiving with an ISIS cell.
  3. This guy could write Josh Allen's life story on that belly.
  4. I was being sarcastic, but admittedly it's sometimes hard to tell around here when it comes to #17.
  5. 1. I liked Sully. I know that's an unpopular opinion here, but I thought his assessment of the Bills tended to be accurate and honest. I don't live in Buffalo and I'm just talking about his columns -- I haven't followed him since he left the D&C (?). 2. I don't care if McDermott is a jerk, a control freak, or whatever. Most NFL HCs are . . . unbalanced to put it charitably. If the guy wins, he can cuss out all the reporters he wants and I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.
  6. Bills 17 Broncos 13 Close game the whole way, with the Bills hanging on to stop a Denver drive at the end of regulation.
  7. I agree. This team is much better than last year's squad, but last year's team was awful and greatly overachieved to win six games. Our offense made a quantum leap from "abominable" to "mediocre," which is a huge improvement but still not good enough to win a road playoff game. That's okay. We were never going to fix everything in one offseason, and going from complete irrelevance last year to a 10-win season this year would be great. Add a big WR, another RB to complement Singletary, and otherwise spruce up the roster here and there, and we're in business next year.
  8. Denver isn't a pushover like Miami, but the Bills are a significantly better team. I feel pretty good about this one, although it does figure to be a defensive struggle.
  9. In fairness, a lot of us expected Cincinnati to be a dumpster-fire.
  10. The Bills will have four away games against "western" teams, but they also get four home games against "western" teams, presumably with 1:00 ET starts. Those are good.
  11. Yep. Very well said.
  12. Kind of like . . . Fitz today.
  13. Lots of guys had good games, but Allen, Smoke, and Milano were lights-out.
  14. Yeah, clearly an A today. Great game.
  15. I like Allen and I'm pretty optimistic that we got our guy. That said, nobody is going to change their mind over a big game against a bottom-feeder. He'll have plenty of opportunities over the next six* weeks to show how far he's come. * Really ten weeks of course.
  16. Love this guy -- one of the best FA signings we've had in a long time. That said, I still want a big WR who can go up and make contested catches downfield. As great as Smoke is, he's not that guy.
  17. This is #1 on my wish list for this offseason.
  18. Fortunately, Vic Carucci stepped up to carry on this proud tradition.
  19. 10-6. Wins over the Dolphins, Broncos, and Jets. One random win from the remaining four games.
  20. Good for the Jets -- they need some continuity, and I think they should lock up Gase for at least 3 or 4 more years.
  21. Its too soon to come to any kind of firm conclusion on any of these guys, but so far this draft class has fallen far short of what I was expecting, mainly because of Oliver and Ford. Those two need to get it turned around.
  22. Yep. Likewise, when was the last time one of our WRs made a catch, slipped a tackle, and ripped off another 40 yards? None of our receivers except for Knox seems capable of breaking a tackle. Or consider the long ball to McKenzie that Allen overthrew. For as open as McKenzie was, he was still a "small" target. Allen had to put that pass in pretty tiny area for McKenzie to catch it. It seems like every week I see a QB underthrow a ball to a big, physical receiver who comes back to it and either pulls it in or draws PI. We have zero players who can do that.
  23. The offense badly needs a WR who make himself a big target, fight for ball, and break tackles. Most of our offensive problems would go away overnight with that player lined up opposite Brown.
