  1. We're 4-0 and we have our QB for the next 10 years. This is a blissful time to be a fan.
  2. I was eating supper when Josh took that sack. So glad I wasn't in the thread for that. I mean, yeah sure I'd rather than he throw it away, but I just can't understand being a fan of this team and getting hung up on that one play when Allen played so well.
  3. 4-0. The defense came up with plays when we absolutely needed them. Good game.
  4. That looked like a backwards pass if anything. No turnover?
  5. Imagine if the defense were simply mediocre.
  6. Agholor catching footballs like they were babies tossed out of a burning building or something.
  7. I mean, defenses around the league are generally playing like dog**** so it's not like it's just us. But sheesh.
  8. Beasley doing his best Don Beebe impression on that one.
  9. Legit surprised the Raiders went for a FG there. Works for me though.
  10. Herbert picked a bad time for a rookie mistake.
  11. Ignominy just gave up a TD reception to Seattle with 5:24 left. 9 point game. Over-ish.
  12. I thought they were about a .500 team coming into the season, and I've seen no reason to change my mind about that. They're not a joke like last year, and they're going to upset a couple of teams. I mean, they hung with us.
  13. Miami picks off Wilson in the end zone to keep the game within reach. Huge play.
  14. Cleveland looking pretty sharp.
  15. Yeah, but did you notice that when Jackson overthrew an open receiver by a good three yards on that deep ball, he was praised by the announcers for having a really strong arm? Somehow, I think the commentary would be slightly different if Allen threw the exact same pass.
  16. I've always really liked Cam Newton until he signed with New England. I hope he has a quick recovery so our division title remains untainted.
  17. This is all true, but it's worth noting that Allen was drafted by a team with just a defense and he turned out just fine. Knowing what we know now, I suspect that if the Bills had drafted Mahomes, McDermott and Daboll would have developed him successfully. He probably would have developed faster than Allen, considering that he was further along than Allen coming out of college. (Not a knock on Allen obviously -- we should all be able to agree that he was the rawest QB prospect to come along in quite some time). Of course, Mahomes would not have a SB ring, but he would have the Bills in contention just like we are now. But like you said, this is all academic. The Bills obviously were never drafting Mahomes, and it's weird that people keep wringing their hands over this pick. It turned out great for both franchises.
  18. The correct answer is BPA of course, but I'm hoping the BPA happens to play CB, LB, or DE.
  19. This is my take, too. Sure, they have a week "off," but they can't really use it the same way as they would a bye week, and they figure to be missing some players when we face them.
  20. Who gets to break this news to the guys at PFF?
  21. I was thinking the exact same thing as I was rewatching the game last night. This was prompted by one of the announcers saying something about Jim Kelly was probably watching Allen run the option and cheering, which was kind of weird because I can't imagine JK ever ran an option after graduating from high school. Kelly was a prototypical pocket passer like Marino. If you're going to compare Allen's game to somebody from that era, it would probably be Elway, not Kelly. But the comparison to Kelly is spot-on when it comes to their general approach to football. Kelly and Allen are both essentially linebackers who happen to play QB. Kelly was famously recruited by Penn State to play linebacker. If Allen lined up at MLB, you would never know he was out of position besides the fact that he's not wearing a linebacker number. Kelly stayed in the pocket, but he was never afraid of getting hit. Allen actually initiates contact with defenders and outmuscles defensive ends. How can a Buffalo fan NOT cheer for this?
