  1. Here's how I called it back in August: SEA: L @ARI: W LAC: W @SF: L PIT: L @DEN: W @NE: L MIA: W With the benefit of 8 weeks worth of hindsight, I feel less confident in beating Arizona, but more confident in beating SF and NE. I'm going to stick with 4-4 to get us to 10-6, but 11-5 would not be surprising. 538 has us as basically a coin flip against both Seattle and Arizona.
  2. Very happy with yesterday's win. I'm always happy when the Bills win, but yesterday's win was especially sweet. First, it positions the Bills extremely well for their first division title in forever. 4-0 in the division with wins in hand over NE and MIA puts us in an outstanding situation if we need tie-breakers down the road. We can clinch the tie-breaker over Miami just by having them drop a game to NE or (unlikely) the Jets. To be all alone in first place with a 1.5 game lead and tiebreakers all set up by week 8 is pretty fantastic. Second, I love the fact that this was a gut-punch loss for the Patriots, and I love knowing that their bandwagon-jumping fans are heading to the nearest exit. Wonderful, all around. Edit: Does this team have issues to address? Yes. Does it currently look like a legit super bowl contender? No. Are the pieces in place to get hot and make a run? Absolutely. Am I going to wet the bed over beating a divisional rival? Hell no.
  3. Agreed. If the playoffs were tomorrow, I would not be feeling too terribly confident, although I imagine we would be favored against the Colts, Raiders, or Browns. But that doesn't matter because the playoffs aren't tomorrow. Every year we see a team or that gets hot at the right time and overperforms in the post-season. If we get some guys healthy and find a way to boost the defense to least average, there's no reason why that can't be us. We're well-positioned for it.
  4. I was super-happy when we got Cody Ford, even if I kind of wanted Metcalf a little when he slid. Boy do I wish we had that pick back.
  5. We'll be dogs to both Seattle and Arizona, but those are both winnable games. Sitting here right now, with both of those games left to be played, a split is probably the most likely outcome.
  6. Imagine FINALLY beating New England in a meaningful game to go to 6-2, and your first reaction is to jump on the internet and complain about something or another.
  7. I honestly don't even know how to handle winning a game thanks to the other team's backbreaking mistake. It's whatever the opposite of Billsy is.
  8. Sometimes it's best just to put the keyboard down while the game is on.
  9. Sure, it was tough playing the Titans and Chiefs, but at least the schedule-makers gave us back-to-back games against bottom-feeders like the Jets and Patriots to get right.
  10. More Adidas sneakers than a plumber's got pliers. Got more suits than Jakobi Meyers.
  11. It seems pretty obvious that the plan has always been for 2020 to be the year that the Bills step up and win the division and establish themselves as a playoff team not just this year but for the foreseeable future. I feel pretty good about the "playoff team for the foreseeable future" part because of #17's development, but to be honest it would be very disappointing to lose to NE this week when we're supposed to be ripping the division out of their cheating hands. So yeah I think the OP has a pretty good point.
  12. If you went to sleep back in February and just now woke up and started paying attention, you could be forgiven for being a little surprised at how tough our schedule is. Most fans, of course, have known this for the better part of a year and we're getting more or less exactly what we expected.
  13. This week is a fantastic opportunity to take firm control of the division and make the passing of the torch official. Let's get it done.
  14. Bills win. Patriots getting embarrassed. Life is so, so good.
  15. We would have won week 1 with any random signal-caller under center. Aside from that, we are literally a 1-6 team without Josh Allen. It's amazing to me that anybody who follows this team doesn't see how he's carrying this squad this year.
  16. This is atrociously bad. If you're being sincere, it tells me that you don't watch a lot of football outside of Bills games. If it's trolling, you need to work on your subtlety. Either way, it's a bad outing.
  17. I thought you were trying to be funny with good meta-level irony. My bad.
  18. Counterpoint: The Bills played legitimately well in the second half. Fantastic defense (with the disclaimer that it was against the Jets), and the offense controlled the ball. Take away some red zone snafus and we're talking about how we put the game to bed in the third quarter.
  19. Yep, that's was a clean play that really shouldn't have been penalized. But "scary hit" = flag in today's NFL.
  20. Happy with the win and very happy to see the defense return. That said, we have 7 days to snap out of whatever funk we're in.
  21. Hughes Beasley Jackson Moss Roberts Bass
  22. Bills 35 Jets 6 At least for one week everybody calms the #### down.
