  1. I remember when we would get to week 6 and people would start writing all those "coaches on the hot seat" columns and I would check in out of curiosity to see what the author had to say about our coach. Now I can just skip over those articles because I know the Bills won't be mentioned except as a place for other teams to poach.
  2. It means that there is a game this Sunday, a game to which it was all going to come down. And now said game is upon us.
  3. Worst case scenario is that we're 4-3 after the Green Bay game. That would be very disappointing because the Chiefs game is about 50-50 and we're considerably better than the Packers, but still lets say we drop both those games. The rest of our schedule has a very 12-4 look to it.
  4. Not that it really matters much, but I use Vegas Insider for point spreads. They've had the Bills as slight favorites in this game since before the season started.
  5. I agree that it was a legal hit, and should be, but I couldn't really have argued with a flag. That's how the game is called these days -- you see it every week.
  6. What a run by that Atlanta WR.
  7. Well, we benefited from a pretty questionable roughing call last week. Not the same as the one on Brady, but still.
  8. I expected the Lions to beat NE. Whoops.
  9. This is just a monstrous game next week. I don't know what the hell I'm going to do for the next seven days. Besides drink I mean.
  10. Congratulations on your 6 days of Bills fandom.
  11. This is what I came in here to post. "Ravens trying to end it here . . . "
  12. The Steeler's WRs are fine -- I'm just saying that they're not even close to the same tier as Hill/Waddle.
  13. If this secondary could hold up okay against Tua, Tyreek, and Waddle, I'm sure it can handle a rookie QB and a few receivers that are nowhere near Miami's.
  14. Our pass rush is still a thing though.
  15. Well, first of all, Mahomes deserves the benefit of the doubt. He's arguably the best QB in the league, has a SB title to his credit, and leads his team deep into the playoffs every year. Of course you get the benefit of the doubt with that kind of track record. Second, I haven't seen anybody dump on Allen over the Baltimore game. It wasn't his best game ever, and I'm sure Allen would agree. But so what? He played well and pulled out a win that we wouldn't have gotten without him. As recently as just a couple years ago, people were obsessing over every off-target pass, every turnover, every missed deep ball, etc. Now Allen dirts it to a wide-open receiver on fourth and goal and the entire national media is all like "Well, even the best players miss the occasional pass" and just move on. Which is as it should be of course. Allen's proven himself.
  16. Allen almost got sacked during the last drive of the game. Guy sucks.
  17. I don't think there's anything wrong with noticing that the Steelers have a worse offense than ours and also a worse defense than ours. This is not a competitive matchup, and it's delusional to pretend otherwise. Yes, upsets happen sometimes. This would be a big upset.
  18. Well, you have to keep in mind that no other NFL team had ever lost to an inferior opponent prior to that game. It tore everyone's world asunder.
  19. Most NFL games don't require a rookie CB to play single man coverage against Young-to-Rice. The ability to shut down average-to-above-average WRs being thrown to by average-to-above-average QBs is very good and all can reasonably ask from your rookie CB2.
  20. I'm going to reserve judgement for a while -- small sample size and all -- but man was this a good stretch of games for a rookie CB to step up.
  21. I was incandescently mad about this for like a half a second yesterday, right up until the point where Poyer came down with the ball. Then it was like okay cool whatever. I mean, Lawson and the lineman are all by themselves on a little island, 77 has his arm absolutely hooked around him, and it's 100% in full view of the official behind the QB, who is supposed to be looking for this exact thing. How do you miss this?
  22. I wonder if Ravens fans are thinking that we have their number on critical goal-to-go situations. In the playoff game a couple of years ago, it looked like they were about to tie the game just as the third quarter came to an end. Instead, they got the single worst possible result imaginable -- a pick-6 that more or less ended the game. Yesterday was pretty much the same. On 4th down, a pick-6 actually wasn't the worst result imaginable -- in that case, at least Baltimore would have gotten the ball back with a solid chance to tie it up and force OT. The worst imaginable result was a turnover that gave us a touchback instead of starting at the 4 yard line, followed by a clock-killing drive that ends the game without them ever getting the ball back, and that's exactly what happened. I have a feeling we'd be talking about that if the shoe was on the other foot.
  23. Trubisky is familiar with our defense in the same way that a man on death row is familiar with how electricity works. Not gonna change the end result.
  24. Allen can win track meets on days that defense isn't performing well. The defense can pitch shutouts on days that the offense isn't performing well. It's not like this team is built to win just one way or anything.
  25. Pittsburgh has been hot garbage all season, with the exception of TJ Watt who won't be playing. They're going to finish last in their division. Trubisky has been brutal, and their best alternative is a rookie who would be making his first career start on the road against a SB contender. They just lost to the New York Jets. 14 is a lot of points, but this game is absolutely a mismatch.
