  1. I took it easy on my morning run. Stopped to snap a few photos of the crisp fall weather. Stayed mentally loose and relaxed so I didn't tense up during the game.
  2. Gonna be interesting when Tre gets back. I can't recall having this kind of depth at CB before, certainly not in the McBeane era.
  3. Eh, Moss is always a good candidate for a healthy scratch. I wouldn't read anything into it.
  4. I'm always willing to look past one botched play. Allen did dirt the game-winning TD pass against Miami after all -- stuff like this happens over the course of a season and you have to live with occasional bad play. But McKenzie was just a flat-out liability on the field yesterday. If he had made up for the fumble with an actual good play somewhere, that would be one thing. But he had the fumble, the dropped TD on 4th down, and another big drop, and absolutely nothing in the plus column to balance any of those out. If we had lost this game, everybody would be blaming the loss on him, and they'd be more or less right. I get that McKenzie is a great guy in the locker room, and he definitely has a role on this team as a gadget player. It's just that this season is too important to carry him as our starting slot WR. I'm ready to see what Shakir can do. And if another WR happens to be available, I would not mind adding somebody for the stretch run and playoffs.
  5. He's not quite in Frank Reich territory in "local legend" terms, but he has to be getting close, right?
  6. I'm very glad this game is behind us in the W column. My goodness that was stressful.
  7. Colts are all excited about scoring four TDs in a single game. That's good if you're Al Bundy, but it's just another half of football for JA17.
  8. Game over in Giants-land. Ravens fumble, Giants recover, game over.
  9. Giants score to go up by 4, but there's 1:43 left to go.
  10. Honestly, Minnesota has looked terrible. Miami still has a great shot here.
  11. Waddle fumbled the ball after gaining a first down. Viking ball with 4:10 left, up by 6.
  12. Vikings TD to Thielen. 17-3 with about 14 minutes left to go. Correction: 16-3. They missed the PAT, because that's what the Vikings do.
  13. The Jets, Pats, and Dolphins can also lose any game they play. And they're all significantly weaker than us, and therefore more likely to drop random games than we are. And of course we take care of business against those teams ourselves too. Not really worried about the division like at all at this point. We'll see how the season goes, but there's no reason to think that talent won't win out.
  14. Divisional playoff game. Can't come out flat after the bye.
  15. Miami's defense is keeping them in the game, and their offense has been moving the ball reasonably well with scrub-level QB play. They've outplayed Minnesota so far according to my ever-accurate eyeball test. This is a dangerous team if they find a QB.
  16. Sorry, but very old guys marrying young hotties is always going to be a mash-up of gross and funny.
  17. Obviously we have a rivalry going with KC right now, but for me it's just that: a rivalry. I've been to Arrowhead as a road team fan, and everybody was completely cool and friendly. The Chiefs fans I know locally are cool. (I live about six hours away from KC, so it's not hard to find a few Chiefs fans mixed into our mostly-Vikings population). Their fanbase has been through some of the same challenges and heartbreaks that we've been through -- it's not like they're the Cowboys or Steelers or some other franchise with a case full of trophies and a bunch of spoiled fans. Kansas City didn't violate covid protocols, get our game delayed, and then proceed to act like the aggrieved victim. Our games get a little chippy because of the stakes, but they're not a dirty team. From afar, Mahomes seems like a good guy. You certainly can't argue with his talent. He doesn't cheat or angle-shoot, unlike certain other QBs that might come to mind. He's not a low-key weirdo like Rodgers. Josh seems to like the guy, and who am I to argue with Josh? I would have preferred for the Chiefs to win the SB last year. By way of contrast, I would root for Al Qaeda University if they played New England. Sunday's game is huge. I want the Bills to blow them out and crush their hopes under our heel. I will root against Kansas City in every game they play the rest of the year as long as we're still playing, because they're the biggest threat to us. I root against them out of respect, not hatred. No hard feelings at all besides that.
  18. I remember the bad old days when the Bills used to play in games like this all the time, including our annual we-have-to-put-you-on-primetime-once-every-year-so-here's-Bills-Jets-on-TNF-for-you woofer.
  19. This is why I use a trimmer with a guard and not a razor.
  20. Yeah, it would not surprise me at all if Snyder had dirt on Jerry Jones. That seems believable, at least to me. But most owners aren't Jerry Jones. The Pegulas sure don't seem to be.
  21. Spread is up to Bills (-3). I know some of this is probably BBDS, but it's mind-blowing to see the betting public like our team so much.
  22. I read this article yesterday. When he mentioned that there were only two teams in the very top tier, I immediately knew which teams it was going to be. Great time to be a fan.
