  1. Jefferson is also not down and is free to advance the ball. There's nothing wrong with the DB hitting him hard.
  2. I know the league wants offense and wants to protect player safety, but that hit on Jefferson wasn't particularly noteworthy.
  3. I like how the announcers of Eagles-Titans keep telling me how awesome that TD catch was but won't replay it. Thanks guys.
  4. They're not getting to the SB, but the 2022 Jets are a little like the 2017 Bills in the sense that just getting to the postseason is a step forward and would buy their coaches and FO some goodwill with the fans. And let's remember that the 2017 Bills benched Tyrod Taylor for Nathan Peterman.
  5. Yeah, but it's fun watching them get their hopes up. It makes the inevitable return to reality that much more enjoyable.
  6. Yeah, now I understand why the defenders were pulling out all the stops to return that interception.
  7. I wouldn't have predicted that Allen would be this good because who wants to get their hopes up like that. But watching his Wyoming film, you saw a guy playing for a terrible team against terrible opponents who had obviously had never been seriously coached . . . with otherworldly physical talent. His ability to extend plays and throw off platform jumped off the film, and that's something that you can't coach. Everybody made it sound like he was just some lunk with a big arm and nothing else, and that was just empirically wrong. The Josh we know now was always there on film. Now if you had asked me back in 2018 to estimate the probability that Allen would be a Jamarcus Russell-like bust, I would have put those odds at around 30-40%. Allen was certainly a high-variance, swing-for-the-fences type pick. Lots of guys like this are incapable of making the jump to the NFL. The film never showed Allen's dedication to his craft, his coachability, or his leadership in the locker room, for example. We (fans, not the FO) had no real way of knowing his mental side. But the potential was always there for all to see.
  8. But I have it on good authority that he's a cancer in the locker room. Now I'm confused.
  9. Every time I get down on this team, I'm reminded that Josh Allen is our QB and I feel happier.
  10. That really should have been a safety, although I get that the NFL never calls that. Instead it nearly turned into a first down.
  11. Why bother playing White and Elam when Rhodes and Jackson are doing such a great job.
  12. McDermott should be allowed to dodge this issue in the post-game. Win or lose.
  13. Wait. The CB we drafted in the first round because we were in dire need of CB help is a healthy scratch? Jesus Christ.
  14. He's right. 17 and 14 are both fantastic. Nobody else has stepped up at the skill positions, and the OL is a mess. If you watch non-Bills games, you see teams like this all the time. They can be successful and make the playoffs, but they don't make deep runs. If we had an elite defense that would change things, but we don't with all the injuries so it doesn't. If Tre were interested in playing and the CB we drafted in the first round was ready to see the field and we weren't putting our HOF edge rusher on IR for some reason maybe I would be more optimistic. As it is, we are highly likely to drop one of the next three games, which will make the division an uphill climb. The good news is that we get 17 and 14 back next year, and the defense will be healthy in August. Maybe we'll have better luck then.
  15. Please please please be Saturday. That at least allows me to relax and enjoy my Sunday. Sunday night games are absolutely the worst.
  16. Yeah, this chart is preposterously misleading. It is not normal to be without your entire starting secondary, for example. Also, Allen has missed no time due to his elbow, but there's no serious question that it's hurting his performance to at least some degree. Seeing as how he's our offense, that's a pretty big omission.
  17. Not surprised by this. We're exactly two plays from being 10-1, and people are starting threads about whether McDermott needs to go SMH. Well, regression to the mean is actually a thing. We were incredibly lucky in 2020 and 2021 in terms of injuries, to the point that people were crediting our practice facilities and staff as some kind of secret sauce. While our facilities and training staff may be outstanding, we're learning now that they can't prevent on-field injuries. Sometimes things like this just happen.
  18. This seems like a dumb tangent. Lamar's tweet was childish, vulgar, and unprofessional. Putting it under a magnifying glass to find residual traces of homophobia is both a huge reach and completely unnecessary. His tweet was worthy of criticism if he had simply called the guy Mr. Poopy-Pants.
  19. If this were a television show, the writers would be told to remove the skunk because the symbolism is too heavy-handed.
