  1. People make too big a deal out of this sort of thing. The sample size is far too small to draw any sweeping conclusions about the mindset of the team. The Bills are quite a bit better than average. That's true this year, and it was also true last year. We got very unlucky in some close games in 2021, and our luck more or less reverted to the mean in 2022. That's all. It's literally nothing more than just mean reversion. Unless you think that Josh Allen just learned in the offseason not to trip on 4th and 1 or something.
  2. Well, to be honest, I thought Denver would be pretty darn good this year. Maybe not "super bowl" good, but good enough to push the Chiefs for the division and a pretty good bet to make the playoffs. I had lots of company. The 2021 Broncos were a good team that looked like they were just a QB away from being a playoff team. Wilson has been a solid QB. Denver didn't need RW at his peak -- they would have been really good with just a decent facsimile of RW. But they didn't even get that. And of course Hackett was a serious liability too. This is one that I just got wrong in the offseason.
  3. They can bundle their first round picks and select Tua's replacement later this on this spring. Oh, right.
  4. Yes, I'm still sure. Yesterday's games were strongly affected by the weather across the country. Comparing that to the relatively pleasant conditions we faced in this game is apples/oranges.
  5. Gotta give the Browns and Jets a pass here IMO. I wanted the Bills to draft Allen because he was obviously the "swing for the fences" pick in that draft, but at the time it was very common for people to have Darnold and Mayfield ahead of him. Heck, throw in Wrong Josh while you're at it. I still can't believe the Giants and Broncos passed on QBs in the draft. Those were stupid teams.
  6. I'm not sure if "impressive" is the right word, but he sure made an impression on me today. Fields did absolutely nothing against us yesterday. Granted, he's not Mahomes, but he's been playing pretty well this year. I don't remember Lamar giving us any problems either.
  7. He's an elite QB. They just need to give him more time to develop. Like 6-8 years or so.
  8. Miami committed two DPIs on that drive and came up smelling like roses.
  9. I have no recollection of the game or situation to which you are presently referring.
  10. It was as if Rodgers voluntarily chose to take that sack. Josh Allen is more likely to score a TD than be sacked on that play. I mean, the likelihood of him being tackled in the backfield by that defender is approximately zero.
  11. I'm glad this game doesn't really matter for us. It's fun to root against a team like Miami just out personal spite and animosity as opposed to self-interest.
  12. Of course they will. Your best chance of beating the Bills is to play back and try to stop the explosive splash plays. We seldom lose to teams that load up the box. I can't even recall the last time somebody tried that. The key thing is that there's a qualitative difference between "1:00 ET against a bad team" Josh and prime time Josh. Unlike the drought era Bills, this team pretty consistently brings it when they're in front of a national audience. Not that we win every game of course, but we don't ***** the bed like we used to back in the bad old days. If Josh and the rest of the team plays their A-game, it doesn't matter what the coverage is.
  13. Good decision. It sucks (for them) that they sunk so much draft capital into Darnold and Wilson, but sticking with Wilson at this point is just the sunk cost fallacy. He's not good at playing QB and was unambiguously out-played by Mike White. The rest of their roster is too good to be drug down by abysmal QB play. The Jets will be a dangerous team next year if they can even just land a game-manager in free agency.
  14. Miami has a legit team, but they're the second-best team in the division. It wouldn't have been shocking to see the win the division -- look at some of the current division standings out there right now -- but it would have been a serious upset. I mean, it was never really as close as it looked. We were extremely unlucky to lose to Miami earlier in the season, and we 100% should have beaten the Vikings. Flip those games, and we clinch the division a week or two ago.
  15. Well then the Bears shouldn't have been calling TOs. If you're not willing to let the clock run, you forfeit the right to complain when you get another TD hung on you.
  16. Sunday Ticket is the only reason why I have DTV. It's gone as soon as the season ends.
  17. You would think so. I mean, radio still exists so I guess there's going to be a long-term market for live television delivered by satellite, especially in parts of the country that have spotty internet. But this is obviously a dying business model.
  18. $65/month for a bunch of cable channels? That's garbage. HBO Max is one-fourth the price and has far better content.
  19. Wait, what? The top three QBs in the AFC are obviously Allen-Burrow-Mahomes in some order. No offense to Tua or Herbert or whoever, but those are clearly and obviously the top guys. Maybe there's a little bit of a gap between Allen/Mahomes and Burrow, but there's a pretty big gap from Burrow to whoever the fourth-best QB is.
  20. This would be great. Literally everything I watch except for live sports is from a streaming service. I do not want DTV, cable, or a cable alternative. Who even watches live television with commercials in 2022?
  21. On one hand, I'm happy that I can finally ditch DirecTV, which is wildly overpriced. On the other hand, I'm not happy about the Ticket landing on YouTube TV, which is also wildly overpriced. I would have greatly preferred Amazon, Apple, Disney, or any other service that doesn't bundle football with a bunch of other channels that I don't want.
  22. Agreed. I like the Dolphins, Chargers, and/or Ravens over either of these teams even with HFA.
  23. How was that not PI on the Bengals? Edit: Doesn't matter now.
  24. He probably needs the money, what with his FTX losses and all.
