  1. Forget it. He's rolling. They're one dirted pass and one dropped pass away from being 0-10 against Josh Allen.
  2. It will be interesting to see how the market for LBs shakes out.
  3. I think the probability of any of the owners (with the possible exceptions of the Buffalo/Cincinnati owners) talking with Goodell ruing the ~30 minutes that this played out is very close to zero. It's far more likely that this went exactly how everybody thinks it went. The league office expected play to resume, just like it always has in every other game. The Bills and Bengals refused, and somebody was able to explain to the league that the situation on the field was significantly worse than the folks in New York were thinking. Then the league pulled the plug. Bob Kraft or Jerry Jones or somebody was probably not sitting around watching the game and getting patched through to Goodell.
  4. Sure, but this is just about Troy Vincent being an asshat within normal asshat parameters. It's not about the league being evil or anybody doing anything unreasonable on Monday night. Just one guy who doesn't understand that he's failing at CYA.
  5. In the face of a literally unprecedented situation, the league landed in the right place about half an hour after things were going just fine. By any standard, that should be the mark of a well-functioning organization. But this social media and we need somebody to be made at, so today it's Troy Vincent's turn.
  6. I don't think there's any serious question that Josh sometimes goes off-script, and that covers up for some X's-and-O's breakdowns. It's kind of hard to tell how much that happens as a casual fan of the game. But I'll bet folks inside OBD have a pretty good idea.
  7. Am I scared of Tua? Nope. If we want to get to the SB, we'll probably have to beat Mahomes and Burrow to get there. Those guys are much better than Tua. Do I understand that Tua is Miami's best QB who gives them the best chance to pull off the upset? Lol of course who doesn't.
  8. True, but I've worked around a bunch of highly-educated people would would trip over their own shoelaces exactly like Vincent did here. It's not even technically a "rookie mistake" because I've seen very senior people do this.
  9. I don't watch this kind of programming, but it seems obvious to me that he's making a joke about Brown being very old in the clip in the OP. On the other hand, if it brings you joy to assume that Bayless is an idiot and/or that you should be angry at him, feel free. That's what Bayless is getting paid for. He's a big boy, and he can take it.
  10. Guys like Allen, Mahomes, and Burrow will continue to out-perform their contracts, no matter how expensive top-shelf QBs get. They're worth every penny. The problem with Wilson, Watson, Rodgers, Murray, etc. isn't that that their teams payed big money. It's that they paid top-shelf prices for players who aren't top-shelf talent. (Rodgers used to be, but not now). Overpaying for so-so players is always bad. It's just more noticeable and the dollar figures are bigger when we're talking about the QB position.
  11. Impossible. We'll be at home that week.
  12. I agree. Ever since the bye week, it feels like this team has been coasting and (mostly) getting by on just having better raw talent than the other guys. They learned last year that they can flip the switch when they need to, and I think we're going to see that switch get flipped next weekend. Our injury-riddled and heat-stroked roster completely outplayed the Dolphins back in week 3 despite losing a close one. With the tables turned and the stakes much higher, I expect a pounding. Another cause for calm is that if the upset occurs and we lose to a Tua-less Miami team, there won't be any need to worry about "what if" since we were never getting past the Bengals and Chiefs in that case.
  13. It depends on which you think is more important: winning an individual contest or winning a championship. Players and coaches tend to focus on the former, because that's their job. GMs and owners should be focused on the latter. The fact is that Houston voluntarily gave away something of great value yesterday, in exchange for being able to say that they won three games instead of two. That's a pretty terrible tradeoff.
  14. He's been a solid contributor to the return game ever since he arrived in Buffalo. Setting aside yesterday's performance, if all he does is return kicks competently, that's fine with me. We don't need another RB right now, but it's great to have somebody playing ST who I trust more than McKenzie.
  15. Shakir in particular seems to have some YAC potential that our offense could really use. He had a nice slippery move to gain extra yardage yesterday on a play that I think got called back.
  16. The Chiefs have at least as strong a claim to the #1 seed as the Bills or Bengals. They won more games than either of those teams, and it's not their fault that the Monday night game didn't get played. A week ago, everybody was saying that the outcome of a football game wasn't all that important. Okay, fine. So let's stick with that and not get hung up on a good-enough resolution to a problem that had no perfect solution.
  17. Yeah I'm not taking the Dolphins lightly but no way is this game a coin flip lol.
  18. I DGAF about any of the NFC teams. But I imagine a long-suffering Lions fan who has to sweat this game to even know if his own game matters, and then having to sweat that game against a team that needs it just as bad, a division rival to boot. How great will that guy's Monday morning be if this all comes together? So I want LAR. Come on, Lions.
  19. There were obviously lots of negatives on Allen's college film, but his ability to extend plays absolutely stood out. His college line was such trash.
  20. With the shine coming off guys like Staley and McDaniel, maybe an older steadier-hand like Frazier will get a more serious look.
  21. Rooting for a meteor impact.
  22. Would be nice to see Detroit sneak in. Since they let us borrow their stadium and everything.
  23. He's not even good enough as a #2 right now.
  24. I'm extremely disappointed in Davis and pulling hard for him to turn it around. I thought we had something there.
  25. I think maybe you could make a case for Hines.
