The Phins don't play in South Beach. Not to nitpick. They play about 12 miles away, across Biscayne Bay, at 347 Don Shula Drive, in Miami Gardens.

Was Micah Hyde's injury the key to the Bills' season?

Best Restaurants in Buffalo ?????

Lucky Day Whiskey Bar downtown and for late night cocktails, High Violet on Elmwood Ave. -
Best case scenario -- this could be the piece of a ridiculous puzzle. Motor has been good this year, Cook has flashed, but this back has the stats, intelligence, total yards capability, and experience to blow the top off this offense. I would guess we see 10 snaps and I imagine this kid has the grit in him to turn one of them into a jaw-dropper. Great players turn in memorable performances when given the opportunity. Hines strikes me as a player with greatness in his heart and gut who has been thrust into a situation in which he can unlock it.

From 1988 through 1991, I was a field engineer and then producer at WGR 55 / 97 Rock. For most of that run, I would set up and monitor the remote transmission for a number of Bills shows. Weekly, I would go to Jim's house on Mondays and, if I recall correctly, Thursdays. He didn't engage with me, so no fun stories there. I would do the same in the evenings for the Marv Levy and Bill Polian shows. Marv was polite, but incredibly busy. Polian was very cool and would answer the couple questions I might have for him in talking before / after the show. Both Marv and Polian were very clearly high-wattage intellects. Randomly saw Bruce Smith at the movies. The height and mass were incredible. Was on a plane a few years ago and by weird coincidence, I had watched recently the 1990 Divisional round game vs the Browns. Still one of the all-time great games. I noticed Thurm a few rows behind and said hi and mentioned the above. He didn't have much of anything to say. Felt a bit like a stooge, but whatever. Everyone wants to connect with these guys, so it didn't bother me. Conrad Dobler lived up the street, on Elmwood Ave, in East Aurora. Around the neighborhood, he was seen as a cool / badass Dad. Played golf with Dan Kelly during the Super Bowl years. Was trying to win some business from Jim. Dan was fun to hang with. Didn't win the account.

Thurman Thomas was far faster than I thought he was...

He celebrated on the first TD of his career. Upon returning to the sideline, Marv Levy told him to "act like you've been there before." He never again celebrated a TD. Jim Brown used to do that to the opposing team. Make them think they had hurt him and then would get a huge play on the next down. He said it was demoralizing to opponents. -

Huh. From Wikipedia: Emmanuel Niamiah Sanders[1] (born March 17, 1987) is an American football wide receiver for the Buffalo Bills. He played college football at SMU, and was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft. Sanders won Super Bowl 50 with the Denver Broncos over the Carolina Panthers.

Touchdown Jesus' Amazing Background

Touchdown Jesus was way cool. Everyone wanted to hang out with him. -
As we may see snaps from Jake Kumerow tonight, I looked up his stats and history and the latter is amazing: Father Eric played linebacker for the Dolphins. Grandfather played guard in both NFL and AFL. Great uncle played center as one of the 100 best Chicago Bears. Uncle John Bosa was a first-round pick of the Miami Dolphins. We saw the talent of cousin Joey Bosa last week in the Chargers game. Cousin Nick Bosa plays DE for the 49ers. Great grandfather "Big Tuna" Tony Accardo was a mob boss in Chicago.

Anyone got Pittsburgh on their mind yet?

"We gotta play 'em one day at a time. I'm just happy to be here. Hope I can help the ballclub. I just want to give it my best shot, and the good Lord willing, things will work out." -
The distribution in this stat line is always skewed and non-normal in the statistical sense. Within the top ten teams in TO differential (leaving out the Bills), the mean gross takeaway in their top game is 3.7 takeaways and the mode is 3. On average for this group, that's 26% of total takeaways happening in one game. For Buffalo, that stat is 29%. In other words, it comes in bunches for all the stats leaders in this category.

Zack Moss runs a 4.52 40 yard dash
wettlaufer replied to Awwufelloff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This guy is gonna be a beast in blitz pickup. I think we may see more 20 and 21 groupings with these two backs, maybe run a hurry up offense more often. Singletary plus Moss plus our WR corps provide tons of versatility on any down. -
I'm gonna go with mid-late rounders for most value generated at those slots: Aaron Schoebel, Stevie Johnson, and of course "Bowling Ball with Butchers Knives" 5th rounder Kyle Williams. Sustained excellence and leadership. I think I'll make him my top pick. Mike Williams is the absolutely biggest bust. Erik "Who?" Flowers, Aaron Maybin (cool guy post-NFL, though), and John McCargo for both being legendarily bad first round speed rushers that never looked like they could make it in the NFL to start. And didn't.

The "not invented here" syndrome will probably prevail at 345 Park Avenue for the next 25 years. Then someone will bite the bullet and change it, whereupon they'll (1) Discover more viewership globally with (2) Greater engagement with younger fans, creating a more durable competitive advantage for the business and the sport, (3) Which will drive up the value of the broadcast contracts the other 19 weeks of the year + merchandise uptake.

The offense was consistently getting to the line around or under 15 ticks on the play clock -- didn't look like Allen got a good amount of time with Daboll looking at the same thing. We need TEs and big receivers to move the ball 7-15 yards past the LOS to neutralize this kind of attacking D. Definitely plays to Duke William's capabilities.
