  12. Besides the fact that the tax bill passed last year didn't actually kick in until 2018 Large corporations have been doing this for years. They dig for loopholes to legally cook the books. And put yourself in their shoes for a moment. If there was a way you could avoid paying a tax, would you not take advantage of it?
  13. If you want to stop the spam and telemarketers, turn on call screening. Anyone who calls will be greeted with "Please state your name for the Google Voice Subscriber" before a connection is established. Stops the robocalls and most telemarketers.
  14. Yeah I get the reference. It's a sad joke and poor reflection on the propaganda machine that CNN has become. But technically if you read something like that on a Federal network, like say our friend Eli who works for the Army Corps (or is that Corpse?) of Engineers, it could be illegal. But reading it from home is perfectly legal. Regardless whether our corporate media overlords disapprove or not.

On a somewhat related note, for those who still have telephone landline service via the old school telephone company or thru your cable/Internet provider, you can cut that out and get free VOIP (voice over IP) phone service from Google Voice. If you've got phone service thru your cable company or FIOS, this is pretty much the same thing without a monthly fee. Only drawback is it does not include 911 You will need a VOIP adapter like this. With some patience and a $10 fee you can even transfer your existing number to Google Voice *Edit I just noticed from that link I posted that I bought mine not quite 3 years ago. Other than the occasional reboot, I've never had a problem
