  1. And you witnessed this. Ridiculous assumption.
  2. Does Lotuleliei play in games? The most invisible defender I can recall in years.
  3. So if you have a bad day at work, do you quit? Based on your knee jerk mentality, it would seem only fair.
  4. I chime in as a ref from time to time and I'm a bit bothered by the TD call. I was talking about this tendency with other officials last night. I feel that officials have replay to bail them out on turnovers and TDs since they are automatic reviews. Knowing this, I think they tend to call it a TD, or a turnover thinking that it will get overturned if they are wrong. The problem is the inconclusive aspect of review. If Fournette's TD cannot be conclusively overturned, then how can the official award the TD if he cannot see the ball cross the goal line? We're taught that TDs must be earned, so no TD unless you SEE the ball cross the line. Similarly, no turnover unless you can SEE the ball out. I think Fournette was close, but if the line judge insists he knows that ball was over he's just lying. There's no way he could be sure. I think prior to reply that ball is marked short. Now we give free TDs. I don't like the effect this has on the game in general.
  5. Understood, but with two weeks prep, I cannot believe Barkley is actually an improvement. I'd have more interest seeing if Peterman can actually show growth and somehow, someway justify him being here. Barkley is the poorest man's rental, so why even bother?
  6. Not anybody. The Bills found a guy who I'm less confident in.
  7. Watkins is a marginal performer, also regularly hurt in this town, who's making WAY more than his production. You want that here?
  8. He's a former QB. I get his point, but at what point does this become Peterman's fault?
  9. I was not a fan of Ralph Wilson and really hoped the Pegulas would be competent. Lots of blame should go that way at this point also. Incompetence starts at the top, not just in the middle.
  10. Watkins. Also on the fence about Glenn who was never healthy here, but looks good in Cinn. We need guys who want to overcome the obstacles and turn this thing around, not just play when things are good.
  11. There is a common understanding that sometimes things need to be broken down before being built back up. Well, this franchise is certainly broken down. I still don't have a problem with divas and malcontents being jettisoned, but players like Shady should have been set free to pursue a fate better than this.
  12. If the defenders can constantly close gaps while ball is in air, it's not the receivers fault. A QB has to be able to throw receivers open, not into regularly contested catches. I can overlook a bad day as having extenuating circumstances, but this is a clear pattern. A QB who lacks arm strength has to be laser accurate. Peterman is clearly neither.
  13. Wow! Love, love, love the Benny meme
  14. Although I'm a believer that every draft should include a lineman in the top 3 rounds, losing Woods (health) and Incognito (loony) this off-season has thrown a bit of a wrench into the rebuild. Given that Glenn always had injuries here led me not to miss him, but it's interesting that he's able to stay healthy now. With cap space there will be no excuse next off-season. PK
  15. Releasing Tyrod was not destroying the QB position. There was no further upside there. This regime is all in on Allen, for better or worse. He was and is a project. Wasting money on any of the other QBs this off season would have been just that, wasted money. The question is interesting though. Does this relate to McDermott, or Gruden? Gruden has a phenomenally long contract, so he may actually get to see it through. McDermott made the playoffs his first year, so he won't get as much leeway, but I think he's earned far more rope than most of his recent predecessors.
  16. If Irvin can choose location as an UFA, the only way he chooses Buffalo is more money. Why should we do that? He's not a building block and we need to stop trying to build a future while wasting money on a wasted present. Don't bother with this.
  17. First, love the Jauronimo pic. Nice. I don't watch much college football, so I cannot pretend to have any idea how good any of those players are coming in. More than the individuals chosen, I don't like the regular trend of trading away multiple picks to select a coveted player when there are stats that show trading down contributes far more to long term success than trading up. That trend continued not once, but twice in this year's 1st round, so that worries me. Otherwise, the process of trying to build while trying to win now has never led to much good, so if there is a long term process in place, then I think it needs to be seen through. I think last year's playoff appearance unrealistically raised expectations despite a poor roster that sustained more losses than it had gains this off season. This year, I'm pleased to see the defense as a whole perform better than it did to end last year, especially against the run. Not every game has been a masterpiece, but there have been moments by young players that are encouraging. Offensively, yikes! That's a hot mess. The line still needs upgrading, Benjamin seemed worth the price tag, but has failed & Zay doesn't look worthy of a #2. Allen came with notable concerns and we gave up multiple picks to watch those concerns show themselves on the field. Peterman must look other worldly in practice, because his assignment to the roster is perplexing. This year is was last year was supposed to be. I don't think all of our problems will be solved in one more off season either, but I hope with a solid draft and smart (depth) spending with salary cap relief we'll have a much stronger core. I cannot argue your point that McBeane has made suspect moves, but I don't sit in on the planning meetings to fully understand the motivation, nor logic behind each move. What I want to do is sit back, watch my team play and hope that each time that I do, I see something that makes me want to do it again the next week. I went to the Minnesota game and after the Charger loss, I had NO reason for optimism. That game changed my perspective. The Indy loss was rough, but the NE game was not the typical drubbing, so hope springs eternal tomorrow. I'm just saying that the process will take years to see through if they are in fact smart. It's not going to be a week to week thing, so I'm recommending we all settle down a bit and look for the positives and stop acting like the sky is falling. We KNOW we're not great, so we need to stop assessing this team as though greatness is regularly attainable.
  18. I assume you're referring to Rosen. I admit, I wanted them to go that direction myself. Tonight is not exactly the game where we will see the Rosen supporters step up.
  19. This is the kind of comment I cannot understand. When did the draft become a precise and predictable event? Early draft picks are evaluated as close to cannot miss, or having measureables that cannot be passed on. Obviously there are plenty of misses. Late picks are guys who have some pros and some cons and teams hope they all outperform their draft position. Some do, many don't. Why assert that YOU KNEW that a late round pick wouldn't be good? Way to go Nostradamus! Great call. I think every owner should fire every GM and coach who's ever missed on a pick. Obviously missing on one means they don't know what they're doing across the board. Since McDermott hit on Tre White, we should just draft DB after DB. At least they're good at that. Maybe we stop acting as though a long term plan to build long term success may take more than one draft. We cannot continue to have it both ways. The playoff monkey is off our back DESPITE every analyst predicting this team to be bottom barrel last year. After two games this year, we presented as one of the worst teams in recent history. Low and behold, we won 2 of the next 3 and were in a position to win a 3rd. Clearly not everything is perfect. Time will tell is "the process" worked. Just PLEASE fess up later if you turn out to be wrong now. I hope to hear from you in a couple of years. Feel free to lay low until then.
  20. Let's be clear. I think it's become evident that the personnel on the current roster cannot play special teams either ?
  21. That rule will be a bit different <starting> in the 2016 season. The league approved a proposed rule change from the Competition Committee that will make it illegal when a “defender grabs the jersey at the name plate or above and pulls a runner toward the ground.” It's the pullback action of the tackle that is being eliminated, so inside pads, or grasping the top of the jersey are the same. Like the other post said, hair is a choice, pads & jersey are not, so hair pull is ignored.
  22. I think it depends on what you want. A win next week is still possible. There are six very winnable games after that, so 9-7 is not out of the question. Not winning all of those games is also possible, but the idea that we'll have a top 5 pick is far less likely they way they have competed lately.
  23. Leo Roth@leoroth This Bills loss isn’t on Nate Peterman, who will once again be skewered unmercifully. It’s on Coach Sean McDermott & GM Brandon Beane. I don't know who Leo Roth is, but I could not disagree more. If Peterman for a second thinks that the optics prior to making that sideline throw looked favorable, he's insane. That wasn't a contested throw Joseph took away. He just stood and waited for the ball that had zero chance of making it to Benjamin. I actually wondered if McD was going to go super conservative to run our the clock and take his chances playing normal tempo offense in overtime instead of forcing the issue racing the clock. Given his options, it would have infuriated some, but possibly may have been the better choice especially in hindsight.
  24. Not that I pretend to know as much as the coaching staff, or admin, but I don't see how you can continue with Peterman. I believe I'm a team player, but I don't think I could even look at him on the plane home. He cannot inspire a sliver of confidence in his teammates at this point.
