Yeah great first post. Could you stick around? We could use more reasonable voices like yours.

The Bizarro Bills: My Official Outlook
Dr. Fong replied to ajzepp's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I fell asleep watching the Bizarro episode of Sealab 2021. If you've ever seen that episode you can appreciate that my dreams were a bit odd. -
As a parent you never think it could happen
Dr. Fong replied to Nick in RaChaCha's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's some terrible news Nick. Personally I'd rather see 100 threads about this little girl than the bull sh-- associated with the Jauron hiring, but you can't please everyone. As a father of a 2 1/2 year old I can't even comprehend the torture your wife's cousin and family must be going through right now. It definately gives me food for thought and desire to treasure my time with my son. Next time he does something to annoy me I'll think of this little girl and the hell she's going through and my petty annoyance won't seem as bad. -
Well I'm glad that you're so good at reading people's minds.

This Team Cannot Compete in Today's NFL
Dr. Fong replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah. So try relaxing and just worrying about the things that you can change. As much as I might disagree with Ralph's hiring of Marv Levy (and I really do) and Levy's subsequent hiring of Jauron (I have mixed feelings at this point, we shall see) there's nothing that I can accomplish by complaining about it. I'll still back the Bills, hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. -
That's what I thought at first, but upon further review I think the shot came from somewhere else and Sawyer never got his off.

Yeah pretty much. What else are you going to do? Become a Dolphins fan? -
This Team Cannot Compete in Today's NFL
Dr. Fong replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I said let's assume. Al Saunders isn't available. Jim Fassel I would have liked to see, but who knows why the rest of the NFL joined the Bills in passing him by as well. Jim Haslett would have set off just as much of a firestorm of crap as the Jauron hiring has. The good and bad of Haslett as a candidate has been discussed to death. Mariucci doesn't have a great track record. Personally I like him and would have liked to see him given a look, but let's face it he inherited a great 49ers team and then wasn't able to turn Detroit around. Hardly a stellar career. Tom Moore? Let me quote something from the Indy website for you: Sounds like someone that's just dying to be a head coach doesn't it? He's a career offensive coordinator and he's happy with it. Sam Wyche has health issues that probably prevent him from the rigors of a head coaching job and Marv Levy is 80+. I know I know Joe Paterno. Ask Steve Spurrier the difference between college and the NFL. -
What does this have to do with the Bills? That song was done after the Bears' 13-3 season and the "fans" were overcome with glee.

I just said he was brought up on rape charges. Whether he did it or not is immaterial. It's much harder to market an accused rapist than a gambling adulterer.
-
Unfortunately for the NBA the new Jordan gets brought up on rape charges. The old one just gambled too much.

This Team Cannot Compete in Today's NFL

OK, let's play a game. Let's assume that Mike Sherman wouldn't take the job. If not Jauron then who? -
He is doomed ... in this town
Dr. Fong replied to daquixers_is_back's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
More than obvious? I can't believe you can type that with a straight face. You don't know all the factors that went into hiring Jauron. I've been saying it all over the place, but it bears repeating. You don't KNOW that Sherman wasn't offered the job and turned it down or gave an indication to Marv and Ralph that he wouldn't take it if offered. You can be mad that Sherman isn't the coach of the Bills now, you can even be mad that they went with Jauron, but don't INVENT motivations for Levy and Wilson's decisions without even a shred of information to support it. -
Well we'll never know the true story so I guess there's no point arguing about it. I just wish people wouldn't be so angry about this "decision" without knowing the whole story, and admittedly I don't know the the whole story either, but I'm not claiming to.
-
So because Jim Fassel hasn't gotten a head coaching job, and who knows how hard he's pursued one, then Mike Sherman has to jump on the first train to Whatevertown, USA just because they want him? I just don't find that scenario likely when you're collecting 3.5 million to sit at home and relax for a year.
-
Alright, so what in the world makes you believe that the Bills passed on Sherman? Maybe that's who they wanted, but did you ever consider that he didn't want to coach in Buffalo? And why would he? He's getting paid to take a year off and will probably be a big front runner in any job opening in the NFL for the next couple of seasons. So why would he rush into a situation right away?
-
Thanks for the link man. On the surface nothing sounds outlandish about his claims. However, since he can't seem to spell Jauron correctly I'm taking it with a grain of salt. The thing is why WOULD Mike Sherman want the Buffalo job? He's getting paid to take a year off and he can sit back and have his pick next year when the bottom of the NFL has their yearly house cleaning.
-
Yeah I figured as much, but was wondering what he was saying and can't seem to find it with the search. If you could just point me to the thread I'd appreciate it.
-
Can you link me to what you're talking about because I guess I'm out of the loop as far as what Sherman pulled? THanks.
-
I voted "Yes" even though admittedly my tolerance for them does have its limits.
-
Yeah I got the disapproving look for yelling out "Why would he TELL her that?" when Jack was confessing to that chick kissing him and him kissing her back.

Your worlds are colliding.

"Dick Jauron is just aweful... AWFUL"
Dr. Fong replied to buffalobillsfootball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, but the season he took them to the playoffs they actually had a song about him that they played on the radio, so take it with a grain of salt. -
A quick summary of Lord of the Flies is what happens to group of kids once the constraints of society are stripped away. One group goes nuts the other group tries to maintain a sembelence of order. I think there are certainly some comparisons one can draw between the two, but I think I think it would be hard to avoid comparisons given the subject matter of the book and the TV show.

Could Someone Here Respond to Simmons

I would, but I'm not sure if Kelly the Fair and Balanced Dog would find it funny.
