There are reasons that the US version will suck. It is a series with a really short shelf life. If they stretched it out to 5-10 seasons like US TV loves to do it'd totally ruin it.

Overall I loved it. Some of the dialog was a bit hackey, but it sucked me in and left me wanting more. There are some interesting characters. Hiro, the Japanese sci-fi nerd being my favorite. I give it a B+. Not much else to say, just thought some people might be interested in a quick review.

I suppose it would have been better if they set up some cupcake at home and run up the score on them. Then they'd truly prove what a great team they have. I like the fact that they started the season against a decent highly motivated team on the road.

Because the rest of the world had to catch up to ONE team. You can analyze that one team and figure out ways to beat them. The US had to catch up to a ton of teams. I think the US has closed the talent gap in soccer. There's still a distance to go, but they're much closer than they once were.

In case nobody has answered your question (I'm too lazy to read all the posts) the song you're talking about is Starman. Another recent place you would have heard that song was attached to the Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. As a matter of fact the soundtrack to that movie was mostly David Bowie songs as performed by Seu Jorge. If you've seen the movie he's the black guy with the guitar. If you haven't seen the movie shame on you.

Absolutely. It's so much fun. We did our fist auction last year and can't wait for this year's. A word of advice to anyone interested doing an auction draft. Get someone that is a completely disinterested party to be the auctioneer. Frees up everyone to concentrate on their team. And have the auctioneer move things along quickly. Don't give people time to ponder if they're going to bid that extra dollar for their third string WR. Keep it moving. We did a 10 team 16 man roster auction in about 2.5 hours.

The problem with thinking like that is your mistakes continue to cost you. Sometimes you just have to suck it up, admit that a mistake was made, make the corrective action, and go on from there. I'm not saying Losman is at that point, but it doesn't look good and the fact that the Bills passed on two young QBs that are looking very good at this point makes Losman's growing pains harder to deal with.

I've now seen the commercial that confirms this. The commercial trumpets "We are stripping away civilization." Seems more like they're reinforcing the boundaries that are put up by society. I'll give it a chance because I haven't seen it yet, but I must say that I find the whole thing to be distasteful. If you wanted to do a true racial experiment how about putting representatives from each race on each tribe. I'd rather see everyone learning how to work as a team instead of seeing the same of tired racial divides.
