I am defending my position. My position is that there is a segment of this board that gets especially excited and pays particular attention to white football players. I'm not playing the "race card." I'm a white guy. I'm just stating my observation.
Funny is funny. I never understood why SNL was so married to the idea that it had to be performed live. It would have helped out the sketches through the years if they could have been rehearsed and had multiple takes in my opinion. They're not the first pre-recorded stuff to be featured on the show anyway. Most of the time the pre-recorded stuff is way better. TV Funhouse is the strongest example I can come up with.
I'm pretty sure Lorne didn't have anything to do with actually discovering them. They were pretty well known on the Internet before SNL signed them. Lorne doesn't strike me as a big Internet guy. Credit to him for recognizing the talent and bringing in the only thing the show currently has going for it.
You can deny it all you want, but there is a huge segment of this board that totally marks out for white players. I'm not turning it into a whole big racial thing, but I'm just calling it like I see it. Owen Schmidt is another name that comes to mind.
I'll give you a hint. He's white. There're a lot of people on this board that get all giddy when there's a white player. (See the reactions to Brian Leonard prior to the 2007 draft if you need an example.) Plus he's a high character guy and a Penn State guy. That's a lethal combination around here.
I agree. I think deferring is a great strategy. It gives you the opportunity to get your defense out there and get a quick stop and have a huge advantage in field position. I don't have any stats to back it up, but I wonder how many teams actually score on the opening drive of the game. Plus as you mentioned it can really help to get that ball to start the second half.
While I'm hesitant to start over YET again. I simply haven't seen anything from Jauron that tells me he has the answers or is even LOOKING for the answers to how to get this team to become a winner. It's for that reason that I believe he needs to go.
Yeah maybe I'm delusional, but I think a good coaching staff is the missing ingredient at this point. Sure there are holes to fill in the roster, but that is always going to be the case. There's simply no excuse for this team not having shown progress this year.
Top coach. Coaching can maximize results from even average talent. I feel like the Bills have talent on their team. Obviously they need more, but I also feel that more could be done with the team we already have.
None of the above. The NFL will be dead to me. If I had a gun to my head and had to choose I'd say Green Bay, but I have nothing but indifference towards them.
I think Jauron has to go. I was all for giving him some more time until the past two weeks. It's gotten ridiculous and his inability to inspire his team and even show the slightest bit of human emotion makes him a bad fit. Once he's gone they simply MUST get someone that knows how to put together a legitimate NFL coaching staff.
