Shady asks Josh about being voted most overrated, ❤️ his response!
boater replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
I vote to extend JA's contract.. right now. Lock that man in a Bills uni for the rest of his career. -
$850 million is pocket change, mere irritation money, to anyone to wants to own an NFL team. It won't stop any buyers of the Bills.

There must be a term for when fans over-value their own players. It's common in sports fandom. It's like people who see their Honda Civic worth $1000 more than Kelly Blue Book, because it has something different. No GM is going to see anything in Elam worth trading for.

Josh Allen, committed singles hitter (The Athletic)
boater replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
The article seems correct in what I have observed the last couple of weeks--the short pass is king and the long pass is now second fiddle. Well, OK, but that is a bummer. I love the excitement of a deep pass. Another thought: I'm glad the Bills didn't mortgage the future in signing a prototypical WR1 stud. It would have been kind of a waste with the new trend towards the short pass. -
Why not trade for a dependable kicker?
boater replied to Kingston Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
There's the fallacy... There probably is not a team in the situation/mindset you are looking for. Teams that are not in the hunt for the playoffs are at least in the hunt to improve their record and be competitive--they want a good kicker on their roster. I'm not aware of any team that has thrown in the towel to do a full rebuilding. -

What the NFL loves most of all: high television ratings, and NFCE takes the cake. -
Bills now have the 6th youngest starting lineup in the NFL...

Young = cheap. The Bills needed cheap this year. -
This is my fave of all the pics I have seen. I wish the scaffold in the lower right wasn't there. I had to shrink it to make it uploadable and lost some fine detail.

What he said about the impact of quitting booze: “All of a sudden my product as a human being, as a husband, as a coach, was a completely better product..." Sobering up is a life changing event. You become a better person without alcohol as your crutch. Good for him. I won't be so snarky now that I know what he has been through.

NE is now at .500 I hope they stay at .500 on the season. I don't want them losing big and getting draft pick gold. They should suffer in the quagmire of NFL mediocrity like the Bills did in all those drought years.

All this concussion talk reminds me of Mitch Morse. I think he's another one of those guys that is one hit away from life changing damage. IIRC, he has 6 documented concussions.

I like hanging around here after a victory. It is so uplifting and jovial. After a loss, OTH, I avoid this place for almost a week.

Ugh. The Amazon broadcast is unwatchable. They should fire their audio engineers. -
Random talking head says something about the Bills

Fake. Whoever made this dissed on Diggs pretty harshly. There is no way Tom Brady would have said that--he would be more diplomatic. -
He is hairy, for sure. It's a UK genetic thing, like Austin Powers.

Is Josh being asked to do more than ever this year?

Josh Allen is a diesel truck, not a Prius. If you have someone who can haul the team load--you use him. -
A Few Thoughts about the Cardinals Game, in no particular order
boater replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well, that was life advice from an unexpected source. Thanks. Speaking of change, how about: That's a sign of a good football team, where we can adjust and adapt to our surroundings. Sean McDermott Or: If You Don’t Like Change, You’re Going to Like Irrelevance a Lot Less. General Eric K. Shinseki -

There are two viewing options for most WNY residents: -- Amazon Prime streaming (most people I know are Prime) -- ABC-WKBW broadcast What will the differences be between broadcast and streaming? I imagine the only diff will be local commercials on WKBW and national commercials on Amazon, everything else will be the same. -

My first game as a cord cutter. I'm not sure I like the picture I get of WIVB from the antenna. -
McDermott haters.... in their vivid imaginations, there is a more qualified sure-fire coach out there just waiting for a job. Waiting for the Bills job to be more specific. This unicorn coach hasn't been hired by the other 31 teams because they don't see the diamond in the rough. All of the following coaches were once thought to be this magical unicorn: G Williams, M Mularkey, D Jauron, P Fewell, C Gailey, D Marrone, R Ryan. Heh... why not roll the dice again?

Longtime Buffalo institution The Old Pink suffers two-alarm fire
boater replied to Roundybout's topic in Off the Wall
The perp obviously has anger management problems. He will have plenty of time in Club Fed to address that. -
That worked for us with Allen. Worked very well. It will work here as well.

I had to Google that. The results made me hungry. https://www.food.com/recipe/spanish-tomato-bread-with-jamon-serrano-serrano-ham-483705 Reminded me of the French Jambon Beurre. https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1023625-jambon-beurre I think I will have one of those on Sunday for the game. I will use the excellent Wegmans French Baguette for it. I'm not sure what ham locally I will use. I will purchase on Saturday--going into a Wegmans on game day is a suicide mission.

My neighborhood on the West Side of Buffalo near Soldiers Circle has gentrified. It is the same.. but just more expensive. Maybe that's an understatement. The house my Dad bought for $17K in 1962 just sold for $595K. I can't afford to live where I grew up. It's a bummer. Even the duplexes on the next block are expensive. They are all in the $475 range... for a duplex, most with only street parking. What a rip off. I know $595K is the going rate for many people on this board, but for Buffalo, that is really high.
