Need advice regarding Information Technology self employment
boater replied to boater's topic in Off the Wall Archives
People in IT will know most of it. Those are different IT programs and languages. -
Tyrod Taylor had a quietly spectacular day

I think the Bills should keep TT... but also draft one QB each year somewhere in rounds 2 to 5. (I think first round QB's aren't worth the risk) -
I'm a semi-retired Program Analyst (programs as in operations analysis, social programs etc.) I have experience querying and analyzing data from Oracle, Postgres, COGNOS, SQLite and Peoplesoft. I also have significant experience with XML, XSLT and technical writing. Is self employment developing queries and formatting reports viable? It doesn't need to be especially lucrative. Particularly with the XSLT. I know most people don't like working in it, so does it get farmed out? And Peoplesoft: I'm not fond of it, but I was pretty good at listening to mgmt concerns, then drawing data out of it that executives found helpful. Any suggestions of skills I should pickup? I'm thinking R, GIS and other stuff. I do not want to do Web Development or DBA work (seems to be excess labor there). (I am in the Buffalo area and willing to travel)

I am now a co owner in a tow truck company

I got my LLC through Legalzoom.com (it looks like you have already covered that). ...and I am thinking of using Quickbooks online. Don't forget the "towing/impounding from private parking lots" market segment. You can make good money there, but you also need a thick skin because you'll be despised. -

I don't understand either. I suspect, the Tyrod haters are a vocal minority. Tyrod supporters are a quiet majority, and are at work right now. -

Even after a win, a significant amount of Eeyore like comments. It wasn't a great win, and the situation isn't great. But it's not Stephenson/Bullough 2-14. It must be hard to go through life so negative all the time. -
I stand duly corrected.

Dude... this isn't NHL where tanking helps.
-
Is Giilislee that good... or is the game plan/O-line opening holes the size of Rex Ryan?
-
I've been patient with the Bills--with the exception of that stupid train horn... that thing is so juvenile.
-
More correct: Whaley as GM -- 9-7 and t.b.d. Not to shabby.

Must-read for anyone who wants to draft a QB
boater replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's the way to go. They should keep TT--but draft one QB every draft. If they did that, after a few drafts the coveted Franchise QB will have arrived. -
Report: Peyton Manning linked to HGH, doping ring
boater replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All the networks you mention: the Beeb, AJ, CNN, Fox, PBS, they all have biases. I don't trust any of them. So I get my news from sources left and right, then make up my mind. The Beeb was once the Gold Standard for objective reporting, sadly they've slipped significantly in that regard. -
The "fire them" fans are rightly pissed at performance. But they don't understand the need for continuity. They think coaches, players and schemes are like spark plugs on a car... as in: swap them out, and good to go. N.E. prime example of the value of continuity: Belichick going on his 15th consecutive season. Yes he is an evil genious with a gifted QB, and some cheatery... but still I'd say organizational stability is the foundation of NE's success.

WGR alluded to this story http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000609519/article/which-nfl-gms-are-on-the-hot-seat With: If the report is true. Many fans heads will explode. (not mine though)

TIME FOR THE FANS TO TAKE CONTROL

More comments like this are needed. -
No disrespect to Kiko, who is a talent... just sayin.. where's the praise for DW who wisely decided McCoy for Alonso straight up was a a good deal? C'mon fans.. our season sucks, but you gotta admit the Bills made out on this one. And, I suggest, the Bills also did good on the Tyrod deal.

Should the Bills "tank" in 2017 or 2018 to get a QB?
boater replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep. This. Jack Eichel or Connor McDavid are one thing. Franchise QB is another. Ask whoever it was who drafted Ryan Leif. -
Carucci doesn't expect any offseason changes...
boater replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Citation please, as to the secret formula being the key reason for the Rex hire. You have factual knowledge of the Rex hire decision criteria? Media citation.. not one of these under-appreciated auto's -

After reading this thread, the endless calls to fire Rex/Whaley/Brandon, the calls to "get 'er done, sign that franchise QB", "we need a czar" meme ---- What I am thankful this Christmas for: FANS DON'T MANAGE THE BILLS! I'm also thankful that hot head fans are not my parents. Imagine, come home with a grade of B--and it's a trip to Dave and Busters, come home with a C grade, and you get whipped by a belt. -
Concur. Constant firing people worked well for Caligula. But in modern era.. not so much so.

The Business Manager?? Off base dude. He hasn't touched football ops since 2009. He's in charge of things like concessions, ticket sales, marketing etc. This article will give you a better understanding http://www.buffalorumblings.com/buffalo-bills-news/2015/7/27/9047749/russ-brandon-president-buffalo-sabres-bills-kim-terry-pegula

http://www.mcclatchydc.com/news/politics-government/congress/article49233895.htmlBecause you can't beat a dead horse long enough (and I'm trying to distract myself from the the Bills pathetic loss today) ... I'm telling you guys and gals using the "no fly list" to curtail liberties other than flying is a fools game

The "All You need is a good QB" fallacy---3 Counter Examples
boater replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
True that. A good QB and good management (long term strategic roster management and scouting). Whaley is semi-proven to be the good management piece. Yet there are those who want to let him go, and replace him with.... what? A more proven GM who wants to be in Bflo is sitting unemployed somewhere?
