Question about being at the game in the lower bowl
boater replied to bbb's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You are on the spot with question 1) ... why? Now question 2) ... how can the "standing rate" be reversed back to more reasonable levels? I've got no ideas on that. -
Should the Bills extend Robert Woods?
boater replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree.. regarding letting him (Glenn) go if big bucks is a demand. Not hijacking a thread here, just want to say: while Whaley has been above average in picking up talent---I'd say he's in the top tier of GMs in deciding when to let a current team member go. Fred Jackson fans can flame me one this, but it's true. I endured through the post-Levy Super Bowl years when the Bill's kept players that should have been cut, or let to walk. Oh.. back to the OP: It's a bit early to tell, let's get through the end of season. But all indications are RW will be a prime candidate for retention. He certainly seems injury resistant.. there's some value in that. -
Kouandjio benched for Henderson.. mistake?
boater replied to Bocephuz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree. I hope there's a "hometown discount" also, because the Bills took a a chance on him when others would not. I'm also a CK fan, partly because I like his life story.. but also because I've done time in DC/MD and have DeMatha ties. -
You absolutely right. And people will blame it on the suckiness of their staff this year (there's certainly truth to that)... but peel the onion back a bit, and the root cause was that they fired Jim Harbaugh last year. And.. it was a messy breakup. I thought I read somewhere that Debartolo's daughter said that Harbaugh was as good as gone because of his politcal viewpoints (I can't find the link). Pathetic if it's true.

I didn't read pages 3 to here... 13 or so at this point. I feel bad for the OP. At page 2 or 3, OP said maybe he (or she) went too far. But the thread rolls on. At least it just between us family and our little jobs. Not on Twitter and all that.. like poor Sammy (though I hope he comes back to kick azz, he'z got skillz).

One franchise QB RG3 will be available after this season
boater replied to 17 Josh Allen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
^this 32 teams. There are 15 to 20 franchise quality QBs. A franchise QB does not become available. -
Loss sucks. OTH.. Happy to be complaining about Bills here
boater replied to boater's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You would fire a new coach with a 3-4 start? That statement, and your username give you away as an week to week decision maker... thank you for not being the Bills owner/GM/HC. -
Yep. A few angels in heaven lost their wings with this loss. (pardon the obscure reference) But what brings me relief: I'm happy to be bitching about the Bills at all. Reflect back on RW demise.. we all feared, the team would be gone. It would be in LA, Toronto, or where ever. We're incredibly blessed the Bills remain in WNY. I'll take sucky Bills over no-Bills. Having said that: don't take us fans for granted. Start to win Bills (and Sabres). Fan patience can only go so far. I have faith. Maybe not next weekend, or this season... but I believe the Bills will deliver the goods of some substance, soon. Thank you TP and KP (please give results, or even signs of progress)

The morning after the Jaguar Apocolypse
boater replied to PlayoffsPlease's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, at the end of the season. Midseason changes there could only make things worse, not better. -
,,AND #1 and #2 RB.
-
Yeah, that's an easy task. (I apologize for the sarcasm) As many media articles said earlier this season: college's with their spread offenses aren't making NFL-ready passers. They all need time on bench, even the best. Besides, I think Tyrod may have it.
-
Thanks. I missed that.. I didn't see much rushing today, so assumed he was out.
-
I second your motion. Here's the names, for those who don't follow closely, of the non-starters today: Marcus Easley LeSean McCoy Corey Graham Seantrel Henderson Marquise Goodwin Percy Harvin Karlos Williams Kyle Williams Tyrod Taylor Sammy Watkins John Miller My only disappointments: penalties (today) and LeSean playing last week, being out this week (returning early from a hamstring is just stupid). The team showed character today.

Here is the offending law, for those interested: Antemeridian threw me off, then I realized that meant AM.

Why Is It So Hard To See The Problem ?
boater replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We're jumping to conclusions here regarding Schwartz, maybe Ryan wanted to retain Schwartz but Schwartz said F no. Agree.. Rex bears ultimate responsibility.. just saying it's superficial to pin the blame squarely on him when he has an OC and DC. Maybe the OC and/or DC suck and RR has been struggling with that. -
Why Is It So Hard To See The Problem ?
boater replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree with the premise of OP. Just want to add a twist: why point to Rex Ryan as the problem. People love to bash the man on top. Mainly because it's easy to do so. Yes the man on top is overall responsible (like those Captains who go down with the ship). But if you want to be an insightful fan, you do some analysis and bash root causes. To do that, you most often have to go down a few levels.** The defensive coordinator is Dennis Thurman. That is the operative difference from last year--Jim Schwartz to Dennis Thurman. The difference is not Rex Ryan. ** The offensive coordinator (who I suggest is also under-performing) is Greg Roman. Footnote: ** I say this assuming Rex Ryan is behaving as a HC.. it could be he's still playing DC while HC, in which case I recant all previous statements. -
The Whaley / Ryan / Dareus disconnect
boater replied to PlayoffsPlease's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
THIS!!!! All you faggot immature coaches/players need to remember this: 3-3 ain't great, but it's not's so bad. WTF... if all the 2-5 crowd had their way, we'd be 2-5 for eternity! Somebody help me here. -
No. Schwartz > Dennis Thurman The Head Coach sets the tone overall, big picture stuff. He makes game day decisions like clock calls, going for it, timeouts or replays. The OC or DC are responsible for the actual strategy and play of their units. 6 games in, I'm not at all impressed with our OC or DC. Frankly, with the weapons our OC and DC have at their disposal, I'd say they are under performing (aka SUCK).

I absolutely love what TT brings to the table. On the other hand.. EJ brings some serious goods also. Recall (many articles in media this week) college QBs are ill equipped for NFL life, But, TT had the benefit growing as a NFL bench warmer for 4 years. TT is awesome, and is #1. But EJ, if you remember.. can scramble as well (I remember a Marone criticism, and others, that he did not slide early enough.. deja vu?) All is well! (said the same as the guy in Animal House movie, before he got trampled)

Source: EJ Manuel to start Sunday for Tyrod Taylor
boater replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree.. more than once. I'm not reading 35 pages before jumping in. In college, for large reading assignments, I was taught to just read the first line and last line of each paragraph. It worked amazingly well. For a TBD post: I'm reading the first two pages, and the last two pages... jury still out. -
Source: EJ Manuel to start Sunday for Tyrod Taylor
boater replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If EJ sat on the roster for FOUR years behind a starter, he'd be every bit as successful as Tyrod. Tyrod and McCoy should sit this weekend. Why risk it? 3-3 is worse case scenario, and I can live with that (as opposed to TT & Shady maybe progressing to season ending injuries). Besides, I have faith in EJ. -
Concerns and Encouragement going into Bengals game
boater replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
EJ is just fine. If the OL performs reasonably well.. EJ in turn will perform reasonably well. But if the turnstyle turnstile OL shows up again---we're dooooomed (and EJ will be given an oversized share of the blame). -
ESPN link bait: Bills mis-handle injuries
boater replied to boater's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Like.. RE the incrimination of the original author, but no Like button to hit. -
Really..??? WTF? This is the best the main-stream sports media has? http://espn.go.com/blog/buffalo-bills/post/_/id/21487/bills-handling-of-aaron-williams-lesean-mccoy-deserves-scrutiny I've had mild doubts about the Bill's hadling of injuries.. but not so over the the top as this. I think the Bills have bordered right on the line. Thankfully the game is played on the field.. not in the network ratings (aka click bait).
