Bills Staying in Orchard Park? Buying Up Land Around...

Woo hoo. Innuendo is a wild ride. Love it. -
Trump vs Clinton: Pre Convention matchup
boater replied to Dorkington's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
You plan on not voting? Well, the left and the right thank you for your apathy. It gives us left and right more power. Hillary is the Cod Liver Oil of candidates. Except that Cod Liver Oil is at least good for you. . Wow. I'm old as dirt and thankfully have little experience with Cod Liver Oil. You must be as old as Roosevelt. -
Well yes and no. Innovation pushes people (with some time delay) into other employment. But now with Trans-Pacific Partnership, NAFTA, high taxes or whatever trade treaty: you're pushing these unskilled services workers into jobs that will never appear because they are going overseas. I rue the day when a $15 dollar an hour job at Wendy's is a career. Sadly it's coming.

Americans hate the Federal Government more than ever
boater replied to Deranged Rhino's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I was once a fed employee. A subset of that period, I was a responsible rationale adult. I think it was two months in 2012. Anyway, an experienced political appointee once told me: when the Dems gain power, their illuminati move from the think tanks to become political appointees, and the outgoing Repub appointees go to the think tanks. The cycle repeats. It's a process that repeats itself since 1787. Lather, Rinse, Repeat. It's the government you elected. It's the government you deserve. -
Not necesarily.. the state, cities (like Seattle did) or counties could make MW decisions. I'd be pretty comfortable with that. I guess my overall position: it shouldn't be a Federally decided one minimum wage fits all solution. And... I really do believe MW talk is all political bluster. Buffalo, Erie County, or New York state can right now make their own minimum wage rules. But you don't see that .... hmmm?

I don't care what they do with minimum wage IF they let each individual state decide their minimum wage rules. It would be folly to make a sweeping national minimum wage. Let each state decide their sink or swim threshold. Let each state face the accountability for their minimum wage decisions. Today: localities can decide their minimum wage rules, and only the State of CA and the City of Seattle have increased theirs. But there sure is allot of whining on the circuit. Allot of whining but no action = someone who doesn't believe in their cause and is only political posturing for the lemmings. The real result of raising minimum wage: this shift once with 8 employees will become the shift with 6 employees and these:

Saw comments of what a good draft by Rex. Just for the the purposes of future credit or failure attribution, let's remember this was a: Doug Whaley (Rex Ryan) draft, NOT a Rex Ryan (Doug Whaley) draft

I'm big on the Striker pick. Not because I have any special football insights other than rumors. But because I like the "Striker" Airplane movie quotes. Also there is a Stryker hospital bed that costs 40K. It's got all the bells and whistles. How cool is that? I hope my kids send me there instead of the Fire Ant Nursing Home. All Hail Doug! He did a damn good job. That experience from Pittsburgh gave him some serious NFL GM cohones. Side note: I like GMTM in the room. I do believe in the one organization posture.

Bills Plan to improve the offense “The power of prayer"
boater replied to simpleman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Simpleman has had to defend his stance, all day. On this day of rest. I, on the other hand, choose to keep my mouth shut. There is so much more in life than football drafts. -
Bills should take shot on Moritz Böhringer

A must view: German broadcast of Von Miller sack. Crazy. I'm watching all the games next year in German I just watched it again: their enthusiasm is awesome! -

You could use Google Drive, and the publicly share it. Another poster did that a few days ago with spreadsheets of draft prospects. Or you could setup a Dropbox account, and provide links to documents you make publicly accessible there. -
Jarran Reed On Bills - "We'd Be Unstoppable"
boater replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's one opinion (Rex a draft dominator). I believe Doug is in charge on draft day... and I believe Rex is OK with that. -

Lots of "Rex" talk in the thread. Rex has an indirect input in player selection. Here's the flow: Rex from a tactical coach point of view, tells Doug the general types of players he wants to win now Doug looks at it from a strategic point of view: a multi-year view, what the Coach wants.. salary cap.. quality of this and future future draft classes in various positions Doug makes the pick Tactical v. Strategic ... google it. Doug has been pretty damn good with the strategic. Rex? let's discuss in Jan 16. -
You could DEMAND a trade. But that's not how contracts work. Reminds me of a movie quote "Everyone needs money, that's why they call it money." That short Italian guy.. what's his name? And from the press I've seen, TT isn't mad.

That would be very Bilichekian of them. (Hey, they have: Freudian, Sun Tzusian, Clausewitzian. Bilichekian works also)

I worked in HR and also did a stint in training. Parallel to your bolded points: life is getting more complex, as the deeply flawed US educational system gives us millennials unprepared for work. I've dumbed down jobs to get recruits/employees likely to succeed. An aside, I see a theme in this thread that hints at a difference in reaction time versus intelligence. Simplifying the D may be less for intellect, and may be more for the brains to process it timely.

McCoy's nightclub fight and the ongoing investigation
boater replied to lowghen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This. NFL got burned on Adrian Peterson, Ray Rice, deflate-gate and other much more serious situations. Why extend the losing streak for a 2 AM bar fight? The cop victim issue is immaterial. -

NFL player: Accountable for whom they hang with? Sort of. Actually, more accountable for the situations they get into. Police: Accountable for whom they hang with? Sort of. Actually, more accountable for the situations they get into. -
NFL.com: Darby to have breakout season #1 corner on team
boater replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Darby is the balls. Where is the thanks to the front office for making such a good draft pick? -
McCoy's nightclub fight and the ongoing investigation
boater replied to lowghen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Some would suspend him for hanging around in the wrong crowd, in the wrong place at the wrong time where a fight resulted in a cracked skull. With some, that is suspendable with a straight face. Like it or not ... NFL Players, because of their visibility and influence, are held to a higher level of behavior. I'm OK with that. -
McCoy's nightclub fight and the ongoing investigation
boater replied to lowghen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No NFL discipline. An appropriate decision IMO. Sure, with an isolated viewpoint of that event only, you could impose a two game suspension with a straight face. But the league (like your employer, or you as a parent) has to be consistent across all cases of personnel discipline. I'm thinking Adrian Peterson, Tom Brady and others... I haven't followed this recently... is some other Philly guy going to face charges, or is this just going down as a bar room brawl with nothing to pursue? ----- I just had a flashback to Sweet's: Ballroom Blitz https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_jdiU47bFA -
How would you feel if the Bills traded up for Paxton Lynch?
boater replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You are correct. It would not be a popular move among posters. Without trade action, first round QB's are a gamble. Giving away future value to step into that gamble is a fools game (and.. yes, I know prior administrations have done that).
