  1. And Schottenheimer will be the new HC...
  2. Nice observations. I think Milloy should go. He has not been able to adequately cover any one for years. Whan a good qb needs to complete a pass they normally zero in on Milloy or Fletcher (I don't mean this as a huge knock on Fletcher, but he is a little weak in coverage).
  3. My mistake... I am not sure what a grounf is... I meant ground.
  4. I don't think you are correct... a drop kick must hit the grounf first.
  5. I hugged both of my children and said a quick prayer. All of the arguing in this post is shameful...
  6. Another example of lack of respect for the coaching staff. They are "playing hard" for MM... yeah, sure...
  7. I beg to differ. I have always like Milloy; he is a hard hitter that always gives his all.... BUT, he cannot cover anyone. I hardly ever see him break up a pass, whoever he is defending always seems to get open. This year, in fact, I don't even feel that he has been effective with blitzes. Like I said, I like his style but he is far from a top safety at this point in his career.
  8. MM is probably planning on "resting" JP the rest of the year to save him for TD's second 5 year plan...
  9. No matter where we pick. TD will do some creative trading, swapping, etc. to get some headlines. The press coverage is more important to him than how the draft picks will help the team.
  10. I would like to see: Some efforts to throw the ball to McGahee. Let's find out if he can add a new wrinkle. Also, keep him in on a few third downs, for a variety of reasons. Preston finish out the year starting. See if we can occassionaly hit the tight end over the middle. Give Stamer some playing time. I love him as a special teamer, question his ability as an NFL linebacker but like his heart. Let's see what he's got. Possibly experiment a little with the defensive backfield... might be some changes back there next year, let's make sure what we've got. Try a little "hurry up" offense. See what JP can do with it. I only say this since Mularkey is full of it with his "smash mouth" concept (meaning he abandons it all the time).
  11. We'll see on Sunday. I would guess that Evans will be double-teamed and the coaches will be trying to prove a "we don't need Moulds" point. Between those two things Aikens will certainly have a few thrown his way. Also, our top draft pick could either have a "break-out" or "broke-down" day. Should be interesting.
  12. Wasn't he replaced by a buddy of MM's? It may have even been a Pittsburgh connection (I might be wrong, but after so many they all seem to be Pittsburgh connections).
  13. Another of his brilliant moves... getting rid of Rusty Jones. Looking at how we fade every game, I think it is mostly lack of heart and poor coaching, but poor conditioning can't help.
  14. Sorry to challenge your intellect, I thought the comment about "salt on the wound" would help define that I felt that this was just another poor call by the coaching staff.
  15. As I watched the 1st half, I kept thinking (about the Dolphins) that they are absolutely the worst team in football. The penalties, the dropped passes, etc. Well guess who they just beat? I'm glad we played the Texans the first game...
  16. I agree... they only have a handful of plays they run with him in there and they rarely find success using him.
  17. I am probably wrong, but I thought we waited a few series to start blitzing him. I thought that if we would have sent people early, we could have put the game away.
  18. we took a game plan that was devastating a veteran quarterback and then totally changed our philosophy to be non-aggressive against an unexperienced QB? We made the guy look like a Pro bowler. These coaches are unbelievable...
  19. Best return man in the league... we've got one last chance... let's fake a reverse and take away half the field from McGee. Another little league play call. I would bet anything that "Mr. Overthink Everything" (MM) made that final call.
  20. So much' for "unbiased" reporting...
  21. Fletcher not only has problems shedding blocks but is also lacking in pass covering skills. Similar to Milloy, whenever the opposition needs to find an open receiver, they can look at the "coverage" either of these players provide. I like Fletchers hustle and enthusiasm but feel he is lacking in those areas.
  22. One was a good defensive coordinator who had no business being a Head Coach, the other was an average offensive coordinator who has no business being a Head Coach.
  23. I am not a TD supporter and wish we would give him his walking papers. It is interesting, however, that in reading the Detroit newspapers today that they are clamoring for Mariucci's head with hardly a mention about Millen. I think that Millen is the worst GM in football... but I am amazed that most of the negativity towards Bill's management regards TD while the Lion's fans and press are after the coach. I know that Mariucci has had at least one more year than Mularkey and the Lions look like a poorly organized football team. But, we occassionaly see Mularkey's team quit on him and some questionable moves. I have to wonder if the clamoring for TD'd head is simply due to his being a much more visible and arrogant figure than Millen. By the way, the earlier quote on another post calling Millen the NFL's Fred Flintstone was wonderful!
  24. It was nice to see a post with some solid facts. Thanks for nothing, TD.
