  1. He picked Babich over Butler (who was the DB savant) and chose wrong.
  2. Thanksgiving? More like President's Day. Minimum. For two games. Before that the coach completely and utterly hated their compete level to the point where he said it publicly. I get it though, water to a man in the desert and all that. Well, they're almost guaranteed to have a new coach next year and they seem to have anointed the successor already so Kev is getting some work in on that front.
  3. These are the offense skill players from each of the college football finalists that made some sort of reasonable impact in the NFL, compared to the equivalent Penn State players each year. As we got more recent I made some judgement calls such as including Ja'lynn Polk (based on age) but excluding John Metchie or including guys like Wayne Gallman or Clyde Edwards-Helaire who did play several years in the league with some level of production (as opposed to Metchie was did basically nothing). We can nit-pick the list. The point is that with very few exceptions the teams in the Final had MUCH more NFL level offensive skill than Penn State did. Maybe the 2016 team had more eventual NFL skill players than Clemson did, but the gap at QB was so huge between Deshaun Watson and Trace McSorley that it didn't matter. This doesn't even touch OL or defense which ignores Clemson having Dexter Lawrence and Christian Wilkins at the same time, and all the ridiculous talent Alabama and UGA have turned out on that side of the ball over the years. Teams won without amazing NFL QBs. Nobody won without NFL level skill players. Bottom line. Franklin didn't recruit well enough to take Penn State where it wants to go. He never got an NFL caliber QB (I'm sorry, Drew Allar is terrible). Outside of Godwin, he never really had an impact NFL level WR. He had a couple TEs but TEs are generally complementary pieces. He had Saquon Barkley, sure. Look what Alabama had in Barkley's last season (2017). Recruiting is and was the name of the game. Now with the portal and NIL money and massive conference money flowing in it's more important than ever and Franklin was never good enough. 2014 Ohio State v Oregon Ohio State - Michael Thomas, Zeke Elliott, Curtis Samuel Oregon - Marcus Mariota (?) 4. You've clearly not seen my son's varsity offense.
  5. Josh Allen is the 3rd down back.
  6. Slay Queen, slay.
  7. Did they play today? Didn't even occur to me to look.
  8. I brought my son to the last playoff series they played in. He was 5. He's now 19. I appreciate this kid's frustration.
  9. Going from #2 in the country with Championship aspirations to a place where it is very conceivable that they don't make a bowl game at all is a sure way to get fired $50M buyout or not. Franklin is perfect for somewhere like Vanderbilt or North Carolina where 7 or 8 win seasons are success. He's not been able to land enough top recruits at key positions to win against top programs. WR is a perfect example. Make a list of all the WRs who have gone to Ohio State from 2014-2025, then do the same thing for Penn State. I'll do it for you. Compare these lists and it's pretty easy to see why one team can't beat the other. You can do the same thing at QB and a host of other positions. Ohio State: Emeka Egbuka Marvin Harrison, Jr. Chris Olave Terry McLaurin Jeremiah Smith Jaxson Smith-Njigba Michael Thomas Curtis Samuel Garrett Wilson Carnell Tate Parris Campbell Penn State: Chris Godwin Jahan Dotson KJ Hamler Desean Hamilton Justin Shorter Juwan Johnson Parker Washington Keandre Lambert-Smith Mitchell Tinsley
  10. Jordan Poyer handed us the field position to kick a game winning 60 yard field goal by doing "stupid *****"
  11. We could have stayed put and taken Sam LaPorta who is an actual Tight End not a slow WR but they gave up pick 130 to move up. In that 5th round the Bills took Justin Shorter. Puka Nacua was on the board for that pick and also would have been on the board at 130. Whether it's Kincaid or the coaches, he hasn't been the game changing player we were sold that night.
  12. If they beat themselves the way they did last week they'll have the hairiest palms on Earth by Tuesday
  13. Because we live in a world of truth and accuracy...
  14. The trough is maximum efficiency and it will be missed.
  15. Rex doesn't even have discipline at a buffet.
  16. Tank for Drew Allar. 😂
  17. Blackout drunk is blackout drunk and I'm going to guess that this weekend wasn't the first time.
  18. Cooper Rush isn't the running threat that Lamar is.
  19. Sanchez got arrested and the person that stabbed him is a 69 year old man. This wasn't a random incident where Sanchez was the victim. This was Sanchez drunkenly accosting a senior citizen who was trying to do his job and legitimately feared for his safety. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/details-emerge-regarding-incident-that-resulted-in-mark-sanchezs-stabbing-arrest
