  1. Anyone else open this thread thinking it was about "Whip 'em Out Wednesday"??
  2. Booooooo! I'd like to see if we can beat this horse into a 40 page marathon! Kelvin kept dropping the product.
  3. I'll take him over Peterman sight unseen.
  4. this is possible given the way Beane streams players through in workouts and churns the bottom of the roster.
  5. and for the record, if he's in shape, I'm fine with taking a look. He's a talented runner who racked up a lot of mileage in college and early in his career. He got hurt, then he got heavy and he was out of the league. If some time away from the game has allowed his body to heal up and having no job has motivated him to put the fork down I don't see a downside. He'll be dirt cheap with no risk attached.
  6. They could supply their own shoulder pads from the 80's wardrobe. #RalphIsCheap
  7. I know right? After the next lockout and salary roll back it will be quite the bargain.
  8. Awesome way to spread human pathogens as well. Remind me not to eat from your garden.
  9. Jason Peters got a low 1, a 4 and a conditional 6. Peters was 27 and had no injury history. I don't think Williams is worth that much at 30 with his mileage.
  10. Did they ever find the seats?
  11. Yes, they get paid for in Pennsylvania via state taxes. If you pulled the tolls off the Thruway all of the maintenance costs would be exactly the same you would just be paying them through NY state taxes instead of tolls. As for promising one thing and doing another, that's a pretty naive way to look at it. The Thruway is substantially different today than when it was first constructed. The money for that didn't just come from thin air either. You don't like paying the toll on the Thruway? Don't drive on it. Now it's free to you.
  12. Your choice, leave the tolls on and tax out of state people and truck traffic or take them off and pay for all the maintenance out of your tax dollars. The road isn't going away and won't stop needing repairs. How would you rather pay for it?
  13. TIL the Vikings had a QB named Frank Tarkenton
  14. This actually. We've seen that the dead still do decompose. After the initial crush of millions of dead I wouldn't think that there would be enough living to support a continual flow of new dead to make things like massive hordes. Winter dead freeze, desert dead would almost certainly be desiccated quickly, swampy dead grow things and fall apart. Things like floods, tornados, wildfires, and hurricanes are still happening and with no ability or instinct to seek shelter you lose plenty there. You'd see predation from things like mountain lions, bears, and alligators. We are multiple years into this process at this point. There shouldn't be many dead left at all and yet.
  15. I will remind you all that Nathan Peterman still receives paychecks to be an NFL QB, as does Davis Webb and Alex Tanney and a host of other terrible players none of whom could hold Colin Kaepernick' jock.
  16. Yeah but this is what you need if you ever want to put that number back into the mix. Slap it on somebody nobody gives a damn about, let people see it on the field for a little while and get over the oddness of it, cut the guy then 32 is a more real option for the next guy. I'm 41 years old, I've never seen anyone wear #32. It will be odd the first time, then it will be fine.
  17. Google Maps says 575 hours. That doesn't count sleeping or anything else and I'm sure you need to add on a significant amount of detour time for apocalypse related shenanigans. If you triple the amount of time it takes you to actually walk to account for those factors, walking 8 hours a day it will take you a little over 215 days.
  18. I was always a fan of D'Glester Hardunkichud and Swirvithan L'Gooding-Splatt
  19. I was wondering why they'd take on this kid and not Kelly, then I got to the part of the 2016 article that referenced the ministry he'd started and it made sense. Not to me mind you, but to the people who make such decisions at OBD. McDermott is on the Andy Reid tree and Reid spouts this BS (IMO) also culture, culture, faith, blah, blah, blah. Then you look at the turds Reid has enabled over the years and the hot mess his own kids are/were and I start to look at it skeptically. Frankly, I'm skeptical of most people who clothe themselves in religion as a methodology to cleanse themselves. This Pike kid started a ministry? Dude, get your own house in order.
  20. Downhill par 3 at my local course. It's listed as 114 yds but it's severely downhill to a green you can only see half of that has a ridge running through the middle of it. Thick grass and a swale in front of the green, drops off sharply off the back with very little fringe and rough before hand, trees and OB beyond the slope off the back. If you hit the ridge the ball will bounce over, if you hit it short you won't get a bounce up, if you hit it long at all it carries or bounces over and usually goes OB. Anyway, it's dinky little hole but the green is difficult enough that it's hard to hit a shot with enough spin to stop but also not fly over the back. It usually ends up as a choked down 56 degree wedge for me and it still rolls at least into the fringe at least half the time. So I hit my first ball a little too hard and it sails into the trees OB. Tee up another ball and land it on the correct side of the ridge and watch it roll down into the hole. My best par of all time.
