  1. The one referring to the drama being trauma related. That's entirely possible but nobody wants to have that conversation.
  2. A couple thoughts: 1. Rashard Mendenhall might be right, but nobody wants to hear that right now. 2. If the Raiders release AB he won't be unemployed beyond week 2.
  3. Well, the league isn't going to suspend him. The team can suspend him which voids all of guarantees anyway, leave him suspended for the season and pay him no money while preventing him from playing for anyone else either. If you;re trying to set a tone I think that might be the way you go. Releasing him doesn't do it, it just shows players how to get out if they want out. AB will get signed somewhere else whether or not it's smart. He won't get a big contract this year but he will end up somewhere, put up big numbers and if he can behave like a reasonable person someone will give him money in the off-season.
  4. During that whole thing my son had "music day" at camp. All the kids were supposed to wear a music t-short if they had one. I put Bon Jovi on a t-shirt with the red circle with a line through it over it and sent him in.
  5. If you can't punt in Denver, you can't punt anymore.
  6. I think it's fair to say that anyone who has even contemplated punting professionally will be through OBD this week.
  7. Miami...building for the future with a 29 year old linebacker on the practice squad... ?‍♂️
  8. Despite my comment in another thread about not picking Bills I took Allen in both my drafts. I got him very late both times. Round 13 in a 15 round draft and 19 in a 20 round draft. The 20 rounder was in a best ball league and I took WAY more Bills than usually do late in that draft because of value. I ended up with Singletary, Brown, Gore and Allen. I felt more comfortable taking them in the best-ball format because I wouldnt have to over think the matchups. Allen is good for at least 1 monster fantasy game this year. Gore is good for at least one mulitple TD game this year. Brown is good for at least one day of 150 yards and a long TD. If Singletary ends up taking more of Gore's workload that just makes him more likely to have the odd big game. I don't NEED any of them to do anything. It's an interesting format, I've never done it before. I took a 3 year hiatus from fantasy because of the time commitment and it pulled me back in. We will see how it goes. I have 1 regular format team and one best ball that I don't have to touch again. I want to find a vampire league. That format sounds super fun.
  9. Agreed but he's a perfect candidate for a PS spot. He has real talent but has had no luck. He needs reps and to learn, this is a spot for him to do that without getting thrown into a situation where he will be expected to play soon. A 3rd round pick is expected to contribute pretty soon and that accelerates the timeline, a PS Qb isn't.
  10. The Natural after he breaks Wonderboy and the kid gives him the Savoy Special. All the dust.
  11. "Still on the team" in that they didn't release him in June. He's still on the team in that the's still getting paid, by the team, while he's on the Commissioner's Naughty List. If they weren't interested in the player they'd have cut bait. They aren't required to keep him on that exempt list now. They could have released him yesterday if they weren't interested in keeping him around. They kept a player that they didn't have to, they invested time and energy in him in camp and they gave him a lot of reps and then they kept him and are paying him even though they weren't required to and now they are willing to wait an undetermined amount of time with the player doing nothing in order to keep his rights. This doesn't feel that complex.
  12. My were the Vikings trying so hard to get rid of him then? They traded a 5th round pick for Vedvik in camp then cut him, then brought in Colquitt. Wonder if he had been struggling there. He also kicks inside a lot as a Viking which is worrisome. 9 games a year minimum.
  13. It's what he does. He collects used QBs and thinks he can rehab them all. If Bruce Gradkowski puts on a helmet tomorrow he will have a job.
  14. Where are the fancy stats for punters? Averages don't really tell you a lot. A kicker can have a short average because he kicks from midfield a lot. They can have a lot fo kicks inside the 20 because they have a million attempts. What I want to know is the number of times his kick accomplished what it was supposed to. When you are backed up you want a high, long, bomb of a kick, when you are closer you want touch, with both you want placement to the called coverage. It doesn't help if you kick it 70 yards left when the coverage is called right. It's not the punter's fault if they kicked appropriately and the coverage failed to tackle the guy, or if the coverage bungled downing the ball and it rolls into the endzone when it shouldn't, etc. Bojorquez has too many shanks when you need bombs, IMO. The variance from attempt to attempt (of the same type) is much too great.
  15. RB QB WR is pretty close IMO I like Jamal Adams
  16. I dunno but it sounds like it entails kleenex and a lingerie catalog.
  17. Things that have a score or a clear winner that is not determined by 3rd parties can be classified as sports. Other things, no matter how difficult they may be in comparison to some sports, are athletic activities. Basically, if it has judges who award points which determine the outcome, it's not a sport. Some things are just games. If one can do the activity reasonably well whilst actively holding a beer it is a game. If one has to put the beer down it can become one of the other two. Sports: football, baseball, softball, tennis, hockey, lacrosse, water polo, swimming, golf, racing, track and field, downhill, slalom and cross-country skiing, soccer, archery, shooting, biathlon, bobsled, luge, skeleton, speed skating Athletic Activities: skateboarding, snowboarding, mogul skiing, gymnastics, figure skating, diving, cheerleading, ski jumping Games: cornhole, darts, poker I'm not sure/could go either way: Curling, Bowling - I'm pretty sure you could hold a beer and do those ok but not as well as you could if you put it down. Wrestling - there is a score but the points are awarded by the referee. This is sort of borderline for me. The points are usually pretty clear but not always. Gun to my head, it's a sport.
  18. Because he's a UDFA and still on the team while under investigation for DV. If they weren't invested he'd be gone a long time ago.
  19. He looks like Louie Anderson in Baskets
  20. This obliterated several fantasy teams. Damien Williams was going in the 2nd round in fantasy drafts. Shady was in the 8th. Now they are sharing work to some extent but nobody knows how much. If you took Williams that high you are pissed. Imagine if you took Williams and Luck. There have to be more than a few teams with that.
  21. If the real issue was about buy-in, which nobody will ever go on the record and say, it doesn't make you question anything. Shady has to know he's coming to the end too and it was a contract year for him. He's not going to want to be splitting carries in a 3 headed backfield. Is he "good enough" for Kansas City? He was good enough for them for 4 million dollars but not for 8 which is why they didn't trade for him. He's still an NFL level RB but he's not what he was. We have at least 2 other NFL level backs on the team (I'm not sure Yeldon is, but Gore and Singletary are) that make far less and who don't carry the off the field drama. Andy Reid took him back. That's fine. They know each other, they each know what to expect. On the contrary, I think you'll see Yeldon in a lot of passing situations. Gore will be the guy to get tough yards inside. If I need a yard to win a game there are a lots of worse people to give it to than Frank Gore. We keep forgetting the New England model. Yeldon is James White or Dion Lewis
  22. Honestly, good for him. That's a good situation for him, and it's not New England.
  23. Fwiw, you're right. Previous regimes would hold onto stiffs for several years e.g Christian Hackenberg. The current GM didn't take Polite. He's a stiff, and a knucklehead to boot, and they cut him rather than wasting more time and taking an opportunity from someone they believe in more. That's what good management does, particularly when they are tasked with fixing a poop sandwich left by previous management.
